A category for spells that cause directly negative effects suitable for combat. Generally speaking these spells are either contested spells or targeted spells. Modifiers include Magic Resistance calculations, spell barriers, failure due to being in a safe room or the caster being calmed, the caster's attack stance, and a few other factors.
