* With one hand free, the ammunition is moved to that hand. This means ammunition from a weapon in the right hand normally goes to the left hand, while ammunition from a weapon in the left hand goes to the right hand.
* If both hands are occupied, the ammunition falls to the ground.
* Unloading stops any aim in progress first.
* Unloading while hidden or invisible involves a stealth contest against observers in the room. Visible observers who notice the action can be identified in the messaging. A creature that notices instead produces ''<Creature> notices your attempt to unload your <weapon> while remaining hidden!''
* Some ranged weapons use specialized unloading mechanics or messaging. For example, {{com|unload}} removes only the readied bolt from a [[Repeating Crossbow|repeating crossbow]], leaving other bolts in its chamber.

Unload
Remove the ammunition readied in a held ranged weapon. The ammunition is placed in a free hand or falls to the ground when both hands are occupied.
UNLOAD (free hand available, unconcealed)

You see: You unload the <weapon>.
Others see: <Name> unloads <his/her> <weapon>.

Notes
