The steel token is commonly used to modify the appearance of a Moon Mage's shadow servant. Not being such a mage, you're fairly certain you couldn't activate such a device.
Were the steel token to be activated, the following modifications to a servant would be made:
Base Description: "a gremlin-shaped Shadow Servant" Long Description: "a gremlin-shaped Shadow Servant of writhing darkness" LOOK Description: "Nearly concealed by constantly shifting shadows, the creature has taken a vague gremlin shape, with a huge protruding stomach."
