Game Helpfile
ANALYZE <crafted item> It is possible to analyze crafted items to determine their properties. Depending on your appraisal and crafting skill a person may identify the maker, difficulty of the item, ingredients used, enhancements applied and more. ANALYZE <unfinished crafted item> During crafting a person may ANALYZE unfinished items to identify what further actions are required required, and what problems may need correcting. ANALYZE <engaged enemy> ANALYZE may also be used on an engaged enemy to attempt a tactical combo. Tactical combo success depends on the user's Tactics skill and require a certain number of moves be performed within a short amount of time. If done a large penalty is applied to the enemy's combat prowess. Additional ANALYZE attempts on the enemy will increase the size of the penalty when the combo is completed, and increase the time allowed to complete it.
Crafted Items
- This command will provide detailed information, including such things as the item's maker. The amount of information provided is based on a count that is invisible to players. The counter is based off the user's own experience at the forge, with items of the same skill as the object having greater weight in the contest.
- For project that reside on a tool while being worked, analyze defaults to analyzing both tool and project with a combined roundtime. You may specify the name of the item being crafted to analyze the in-progress item by itself.
- Some techniques improve the ability to analyze.
Levels of Success
Greatest:
- You analyze every minute detail of the <item> and smile knowingly to yourself.
Craftmanship, difficulty, relative crafter ability, volume, mark
- You analyze every aspect of the <item> and nod as your understanding grows.
Craftmanship, difficulty, relative crafter ability, volume, mark
- You deeply analyze the <item> and pour over its construction.
Craftmanship, difficulty, crafter ability, volume
- You thoroughly analyze the <item>, revealing some of its secrets.
Craftmanship, difficulty, relative crafter ability, durability(tools)
- You analyze the <item> and learn more about its construction.
Craftmanship, difficulty
- You roughly analyze the <item> and make a few observations.
Craftmanship
- You try to analyze the <item>, but are unable to discerne hardly anything about it.
Only what it will be when finished/what it is(condition if tool)
Combat
- In combat, this command will provide information on what next combat move(s) should be landed on the creature you are fighting in order to cause a temporary penalty to a type of defense. See combo for more details.
- Tactical combo success depends on the user's Tactics skill and require a certain number of moves be performed within a short amount of time. If completed, a large penalty is applied to the enemy's combat prowess. Additional ANALYZE attempts on the enemy will increase the size of the penalty when the combo is completed, and increase the time allowed to complete it.
- Using ANALYZE without a target in combat works as above, but defaults to the creature you are facing. It requires you to be engaged with at least one enemy, and can apply a variety of effects and effect levels.
Barbarians
- Barbarians can analyze themselves to begin a self combo. These work very similar to enemy combos, except they use Expertise skill and can only be advanced by the Barbarian while engaged. Self combos do not have a strength, and subsequent ANALYZE attempts will be wasted. It is also possible to {tt|analyze flame}}, ACCURACY, DAMAGE, INTIMIDATION, FATIGUE, BALANCE, VITALITY, RAGE, or CALM.
- This has been referred to as 'analyze self' whereas the typical combat analyze is 'analyze other'.
