#REDIRECT Smite command
Smite is a special attack available to Paladins, which they gain around 18th circle. It gives them the power to draw upon the insights of their patron Chadatru and deliver a devastating attack known as a SMITE upon their foes. It can be used with edges, blunts, staves, pikes and halberds, taking the weapon's highest stat into account and making the appropriate attack maneuver for the weapon (slice for slice, bash from impact, and thrust for puncture). The attack causes the weapon to function as a blessed weapon and also grants a strength bonus.

The number of smites that can be used is limited by the amount in a Paladin's soul pool. SMITE itself, as well as the size of your pool, is directly related to Charisma. A Paladin's soul state also factors significantly into how often he or she may SMITE foes. The SMITE attack is not designed to be used in lieu of other attacks or attack routines, but as a supplement to turn the tide of a battle at a crucial point. It is, however, entirely possible to use up your entire smiteyness upon only a few foes, if you so desire.

Each smite you use burns points from your smite pool, which is charisma-based. This pool refills over time, but limts how many smites you can perform in a given period of time, so use them wisely. CONCENTRATE (or use POWER or PERCEIVE) to sense how many smites you have remaining. Though a smite makes it easier to hit your foe, it is still possible to miss. If you do miss, that still uses up points from your smite pool.
