Look: | The shakuhachi is a mellow bamboo wind instrument with a mouthpiece hole near the top, located just below the notch in the bamboo segment that forms its end. Silver rings engraved with chains of elaborate knotwork have been placed over each of the notches in the bamboo segments down the length of the shakuhachi. |
