Mined deep within the mountains of Ker'Leor, the winter emerald is so named because of the perpetual layer of snow which blankets the upper atmospheres of that range. Of a deep green, the emerald is a favorite of the Elothean Lorethew, who spent enormous sums to carve the gem into artistic shapes.
Faceted along each curve, for example, a winter emerald in the shape of a spiral appears twice its size and glitters wonderfully in even the lowest light. It is a dense gem, as is appropriate to this kind of lapidation. It is deep green in color, which flashes with hints of gold and silver. One of the gems worked by Immokokkon and Sons.
