You can just fix Elanthipedia however you want Tev, you don't have to worry about me changing or editing things you have to "fix" to your view of how things should be anymore. [[Linett]]

Shop Names

Please don't put numbers in shop pages unless they need to be disambiguated from other versions. (If there is only one version, don't use a number.) --Isharon 18:16, 30 October 2012 (UTC) Isharon, Caraamon and I disucssed that quite a while ago and he said it was fine to do it that way in anticipation there would be other incarnations of the store and also so that the name without a number was free for the disambiguated pages. User:Linett @ 5:02 pm EST on 10/30/12

ps: If you "fixed" all the pages I have made for HE (and overall) then you will also need to go and fix it on the main HE event page and the HE shops page, I haven't done all the shops location in all items yet, was saving that to update till after fest so I still had time to shop. Thanks-User:Linett

Item Edits

Thanks for all of your item edits! When adding material, color, and symbol tags, please use the singular (for example, "ruby," not "rubies"). For symbols, adjectives should normally be omitted (for example, "wolverine," not "snarling wolverine"). --Isharon 20:36, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Um, no clue how to actually respond to my talk.. so hope this works.

So, I will do that from now on, should I go back and fix everything I have done? Also, I have been erasing a lot of like.. when something is made of troll leather, and never mentions leather otherwise, since someone else had put troll leather, leather as the material. I didn't see the need for it twice, and it was specifically troll leather, not just leather. Is that right or wrong? Also, gems.. like a white diamond. I put white diamond as the material, not diamond as the material and white as the color, since you wouldn't list cloud ruby as just a ruby, so it seemed contrary to list white diamond as apart. Which is correct. Also I have been erasing silver as a color when it is clearly listed as a material only, and erasing gold as a material when it is only listed as golden, and putting golden as a color instead. Is that correct?

Thanks-Linett :) Oh right, my IM is Linett Silvrtree, feel free to add me, if you are on.

I've been fixing the tags as I patrol the item edits, so it won't be necessary for you to edit the items you've already done.
The purpose of the material, color, and symbol tags is so that people can use the search function to find items that match those criteria. (For example, you could search for shields made of "silver" or jewelry with the "rose" symbol.) In general, simpler is better (for example, "green" instead of "dark green"). However, sometimes with materials people put both to allow both more specific and more general searches. (For example, if an item has a glacier emerald, it might be tagged both "glacier emerald" and "emerald." If it were only tagged "glacier emerald," a search for "emerald" wouldn't retrieve that item.)
Also, it is unnecessary to put spaces after the commas in material, color, and symbol tags.

Ghost Ship Item

Is it an "oak belaying pin" or an "oak belaying pin with tiny cracks in the knob"? -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 00:57, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Harbor Ships

You are aware you can list more than one shop as being the source right? Just put shop1+shop2 in the form. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 09:03, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I am. However for like the food ships, and even the ships in location 2 there are more than 5 ships with some of the same wares, so there aren't that many spots in the template. After I get a better grip on the rotating stuff and have all the ships filled in more, then I will likely change it, but the free text was how I decided to keep track/show where they were from for now. Is that okay?

I think you may misunderstand. Check out Gold-flecked lapis lazuli necklace with a brownish bone crescent moon pendant for what I mean. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 09:21, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay Caraamon... once all the ships are done, (assuming still updates going on since it chanegs every day) But once all the stuff is off the harbor ships page and on an actual ship, is the harbor ships page going away? I was going to divide the harbor ship page by room location, like list all the food/drink shops in location 3 together, etc, that is one reason I was listing them the way I was now in free text, so I could keep track and still show where they were on the map to whoever looked at the page.

My honest preference is for the HarborShips page to go away. First off, it's a huge wall of text that can cause some problem in older browsers and is difficult to find what you want. Secondly, some day I hope to add a system where it can automatically populate stores from the item page (a widget that lists all items that say they're sold by shop x), and this would cause issues with it.
However, that being said, this is your project, and as long as it's not completely unusable (which it isn't) or a hideous eyesore (which it isn't), it's pretty much up to you until (if?) I have the energy to do the necessary upgrades to support it. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 22:35, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

okay awesome then as soon as I get all the stuff off the talk page and actually on a ship, then I will update all the shop location to the ship names and list which map room # it is in free text and the harbor ship page can go away. I will keep working at it!

Armor:Thick sailcloth hooded cloak

Did you mean to delete the info for this? Is it an item or armor? -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 23:25, 6 January 2013 (UTC) Oh Well I tried to send you a message but didn't get through. YAY! Delete it and I will just make a new page. I wanted it to be an Armor page, but my move didn't apparently work right. Thanks!!! Linett
