Harvested from underground caverns within a single mountain in the Himineldar Shel range, the phantom sapphire was nearly overlooked due to its tendency to blend in with the surrounding rock. The stone retains a subdued fire enriched by the presence of heavy mineral deposits surrounding the crystal during its formation, much like a cloak of shadows. Named for its elusive and deceptive appearance, the sapphire has been magically enhanced to display an array of colors matching the spectrum of the heavens above. As the time of day or type of light changes, the inner hues of the sapphire changes colors. In the night's semidarkness, the phantom sapphire exhibits a midnight blue hue. Under indoor lighting, the phantom sapphire exhibits a shadowy grey hue. In the daylight, the phantom sapphire exhibits a bright ultramarine hue.
These gems are considered "rare" items, and must be provided for any alterations involving them. So far they have only been available as part of jewelry sold by Blanve's Bounty.
