|p=Part three..after speaking with {{LRel|Oane}} we decided not to pursue him further or turn him in. This is the log of making that decision and the discussion with Darius that immediately followed:

[Paladins' Guild, Gathering Hall]

Large obsidian braziers light up granite walls inside this hexagonal hall. Although the air is slightly musty, there is no dust to be seen. Two sets of plate armor stands flank the ironwood door as if standing guard. Padded benches and chairs are scattered around the hall but do not hinder entry to other areas of the guildhall. A stairwell chiseled from the natural stone leads up to a landing. You also see a waste bin hammered from steel plates.

Obvious exits: northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest.

Glemm says, "The decision has been made for us."

You ask, "We go back to Darius and ask HIM what is going on?"

Glemm says, "For now."

Glemm says, "Here'stha question."

Glemm nods to you.

Glemm says, "We have several options."

Glemm says, "Report failure, we did not find him."

Iulianus nods to Glemm.

Glemm says, "Report success, we found him, but failed."

Khras says, "Excellent idea."

Glemm says, "As he got away."

You nod.

Khras says, "Negative..."

Khras says, "We tell darius that we know nothing."

Glemm says, "Report success, we found him, and we know the truth."

Khras says, "Report a failure."

Khras says, "The only way we'll get to speak to him again."

Glemm says, "We dunt needta speak to him."

Glemm says, "We know the secret."

Glemm says, "We need to ask Darius."

You say, "I don't think he's got more sane thoughts to give."

Khras says, "Maybe...but I'm sure he knows more than he told us."

Penderrin says, "He';s a soldier: he'll do what the council tells him."

You say, "I think Darius is the new key."

Glemm says, "Agreed."

Penderrin peers quizzically at you.

Iulianus nods to you.

Glemm says, "We cannot sit on this."

Glemm says, "It must be brought up."

You say, "He's here. He's no longer in crossing...he knows."

Khras says, "As you wish. I know little of the Paladins...but I know much of treachery and deceit."

Iulianus says, "The truth matters."

Glemm says, "If we are to be charged for this, ah'll not have it."

Glemm says, "Other paladins will rally to our cause."

You nod.

Penderrin nods.

Glemm nods.

Iulianus nods.

Khras shrugs.

Glemm slowly empties his lungs.

Penderrin says, "So, confront darius and risk being branded heretics? works for me."

Legendary Paladin Glemm's group just went north.

[Paladins' Guild, Guildleader's Den]

Faded tapestries depicting the thirteen Immortals are meticulously hung from the walls in this spacious office. Twin sets of plate mail, designed for the smaller races, sit on stands in two corners of the den. A carved rosewood desk and antiquated chair dominate the center of the room. Below them, an immaculate stone floor stretches from one end of the den to the other, partially covered with a plush rug in a deep burgundy thread. You also see the Paladin Guildleader Darius, an engraved rosewood door and a stone archway.

You bow to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Penderrin salutes the Guildleader Darius with a graceful sweep of his spata.

Glemm says, "Sir Darius."

You say, "Sir..."

Iulianus bows to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Khras nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Penderrin sheathes his double-edged spata.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Ah, welcome back."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius frowns.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius asks, "You did not find him?"

Glemm slowly empties his lungs.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius raises an eyebrow.

Glemm says, "We did."

You say, "Oh, we did indeed."

Glemm says, "We made a decision asa group to let him be."

You say, "We found much more than we bargained for."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius asks, "I take it he escaped, since I see him not?"

Glemm says, "We cannot follow this order."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius blinks.

Glemm nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "That is...serious."

Glemm says, "You have been withholdin information from us about this guild, sir."

You say, "So is what he told us."

Glemm says, "You, andtha rest oftha council."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius asks, "I am obligated to ask why?"

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "A series charge. Explain."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "...serious."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius coughs.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Sorry, frog in my throat. I am quite...surprised."

Glemm says, "Underground air does that."

Glemm shifts his weight.

Glemm stares blankly into the distance.

Glemm shakes his head.

Glemm says, "Sir, this scholar has been hunted down fer knowintha truth."

Glemm says, "Fer doin his job appointed to him."

Glemm says, "Fer uncoverin histories of this guild that have been shoved back intha corner fer us to forget."

You say, "He claims the same of Sir Beren."

Glemm says, "It is not in our best interest asa guild to punish him fer that. He was doin his duty."

Glemm says, "Indeed."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius folds his hands behind his back and listens.

Glemm says, "Beren was purged unjustly also."

Glemm says, "Penderrin."

Glemm says, "This journal."

Penderrin nods.

Glemm asks, "Can you explain it?"

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "A very serious charge."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius frowns.

Glemm says, "A serious situation, sir."

Glemm nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

You say, "Indeed..."

Penderrin says, "The notes of Hraige.............."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "If even remotely true, I would have to agree."

You say, "Which is why we couldn't just ignore it."

Penderrin says, "Excuse me for breakign away a moment."

Penderrin says, "Sir."

Penderrin kneels down.

Glemm glances at Penderrin.

Penderrin asks, "You were whipping the Crossings guild into shape, why did you come here?"

Penderrin asks, "Is that not Emille's body below?"

Glemm gnaws on his lip.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "I was transfered here by the will of the council."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "I did not ask why. It was my assignment, I accepted."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "As far as we know, it is."

Penderrin says, "Maybe we need to start asking. Not to step on your toes, sir......................"

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "No one has examined it to be certain."

You ask, "Why?"

You peer quizzically at the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "By order of the Council."

Penderrin exclaims, "Syal's ideals have been buried in politics!"

The Paladin Guildleader Darius raises an eyebrow.

Glemm shakes his head.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius asks, "Oane said this?"

Iulianus coughs.

Penderrin says, "I have deduced through independant study."

You say, "With all due respect, Sir, That sounds like the Council had something to hide."

Iulianus coughs.

Penderrin nods in agreement.

Glemm says, "Indeed."

Glemm nods to you.

Glemm says, "Syal's guild is not the guild we represent today."

Glemm says, "Major portions have been wiped from our charter."

Glemm says, "We are more."

Glemm says, "We know this."

Glemm says, "Beren knew this."

Penderrin says, "If we serve the people AND the immortals, we owe them that much. Can't be what we laim, if we dun even know what that is................"

Iulianus asks, "What of Kraphae and his alteration of the code?"

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Kraphae? A dark name, that one."

You arch your eyebrow.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius frowns.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "I...see."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Let me speak a moment."

Penderrin stands up.

Penderrin nods.

Iulianus nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "What you speak of borders on treason if not true. Perhaps borders and crosses that border as well."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "But if true..."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius inhales slowly.

You nod.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "I will be frank."

You say, "Please..."

Glemm shifts his weight.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Some of what you say raises very serious questions. With very dangerous repercussions."

Iulianus nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm says, "We are willin to see them through, sir."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Whether wrong or right."

Glemm says, "All of us."

Glemm says, "Cept Khras."

Khras sits down on the antiquated chair.

You nod.

You laugh!

Iulianus says, "Aye."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius chuckles.

Penderrin grins.

Khras says, "I will help as I am able."

You say, "We want the truth out in the open...we want the Guild to be what it should be."

Glemm nods.

Glemm says, "Indeed."

Penderrin says, "If we don't stand behind our convictions, we've no right to wear the can."

Glemm grins.

You grin at Penderrin.

Glemm says, "Cute."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Since there is some substance to what you suggest, I am going to...warn you that you walk the fine line of treason, and leave it at that."

Khras says, "By my simple assistance of a group of Paladins, I feel I am obliged to see this through."

You nod to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

You say, "I think we are clear on that."

Penderrin nods.

Iulianus nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm says, "Darius, Beren is part of this."

Glemm says, "Do you know of his whereabouts."

Penderrin says, "Treason is just a matter of sides."

Glemm says, "Perhaps he could be of help."

You say, "We knew the risk when we decided to come back to you."

Glemm nods to you.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Beren was stripped of his rank and position. Last I heard, he was heading south."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "Rumor, and rumor only, mind you, places him in the Dark Hand, beyond the wall of Corik."

You arch your eyebrow.

Glemm mutters something into the air about hermit in the mountains.

Iulianus frowns.

Glemm says, "Fair enough."

Penderrin says, "Where only rangers and paladins can enter. Nice."

Glemm says, "Sir, thank you for listenin."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "A dark lot, the Emerald Knights."

Glemm says, "We appreciate your candor and open mind to this situation."

Glemm says, "We will do our best to sort it out."

You glance at Glemm, a male Gor'Tog.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "I will not lie to you. I will be obligated to report this incident."

Glemm says, "We understand, sir."

Iulianus nods.

You say, "Of course. We would expect no less."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "But I will not move to impede it until I receive orders to that effect."

Khras asks Glemm, "Where to now? Ilithi?"

Glemm nods to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm says, "Thank you, sir."

Penderrin nods.

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "If Beren lies beyond the Wall, you will not find him easily."

Penderrin says, "South of the black canyon."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius says, "He will have to find you."

You say, "Of course."

Iulianus says, "Aye, thank you."

Glemm ponders.

Glemm nods.

Penderrin bows to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm says, "Thank you for your time, sir."

The Paladin Guildleader Darius sighs.

Glemm bows to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm tries to pull Khras to his feet, but cannot.

Glemm looks at Khras and coughs.

Iulianus bows to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

You say, "Sir, under other circumstances, it would be a pleasure seeing you again."

Khras leaps to his feet!

You bow to the Paladin Guildleader Darius.

Glemm places his hand over your mouth.

Glemm nods.

Legendary Paladin Glemm's group just went south.

[Paladins' Guild, Landing]

A mortar wall and steel bar railing create the bulk of this narrow walkway. Beyond the steel bar is a spectacular view of the hexagonal-shaped gathering hall in all its glory. Although there is little warmth up here, wolf pelts line the wall, and a long blue carpet leads to the guildleader's den. You also see a granite stairwell.
