After seeing the initial results of the [[Post:Necromancer_Policy_%26_System_Changes_(Please_Read)_-_05/07/2019_-_16:02|automated accusation mechanics]], I feel like due to the previously PvP-oriented aspect of it some of the finer distinctions of how the suspicion systems work may have gotten lost to the game's tribal knowledge. With that in mind, I will go over some of the basics and give some advice for [[Necromancers]].

There are three things that can cause a successful accusation: [[Outrage#Social_Outrage|social outrage]], looking like a necromancer, and the mechanic formally known as [[suspicion]].

SOCIAL OUTRAGE:<br/>
You are probably aware that this is a thing. It's a thing. Over a certain threshold (where you used to be considered Perverse in the older mechanic), you are considered a known Necromancer in the region and will face accusations.

LOOKING LIKE A NECROMANCER:<br/>
There's a few things that feed into this, but broadly it includes "visibly doing Necromancer stuff." Having transcendental buffs up, casting visible Necromancies in general, using a title, and wearing some rare items can trigger an accusation.

SUSPICION:<br/>
Forsaken Necromancers have a tolerance meter for town called suspicion that slowly builds up in normal situations. While in a [[Justice#Standard_Justice|justice area]], this meter builds towards an accusation. While outside of a justice area, this meter drains away. Unsullied and eventually Redeemed Necromancers are exempt from this.

So, what can you do to survive this ordeal? You have tools at your disposal!

STEALTH:<br/>
The biggest tool in the Necromancer arsenal is stealth. If you are hidden or invisible, you do not accrue suspicion or face automated accusations!

THE RITES:<br/>
When stealth is undesirable, the rites provide temporary relief. [[Rite of Contrition]] will slash your effective suspicion in half, while [[Rite of Grace]] can allow you to have a certain number (potency variable) of trans buffs up without being visible.

MANAGING RISK:<br/>
Town is a scary place for Necromancers, but if you balance your risk factors you can operate for short times in town without any of these tools. In particular, though, this involves a healthy balance of time outside of town.
