|p=There was a chat with the gang leader in the sewers, [[Anjinson]], [[Mazrian]] and [[Kaelie]] were there.  I don't have that log, but I'm sure one of them do.<br>

I have the log for the negotiations between the leader of the gang and [[Anjinson]]:<br>
<br>
Setting:<br>
[The White Raven, Bow]<br>
The bowsprit springs forward from the deck as if pointing the way.  From its very tip, lines run up to the mast, supporting the jib topsail and the jib.  Aft and below it is the fore staysail.  The three sails dominate the bow of the ship, balancing the thrust of those aft hanging from the gaff.<br>
<br>
You look around, trying to appear nonchalant.<br>
You tug at the bottom of your captain's coat, adjusting the fit.<br>
<br>
You say, "I am alone."<br>
<br>
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.<br>
<br>
You say, "Whenever you feel comfortable revealing yourself."<br>

A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "So what is your offer for peace, hmm?  For the lessons to end?"<br>
<br>
You shudder.<br>
<br>
You say, "I will offer you the ransom, as well as an added amount."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "Name the price.  I want to hear you say it."<br>
<br>
You say, "I would like you to know, I am hoping to make peace with you."<br>
<br>
You say, "I have brought fifteen thousand platinums. I know that any amount will never justify the murder of children."<br>
<br>
You say, "That is never something I would condone, however there are those that would and obviously have."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "My son was so young, and he was killed over and over.  They threatened him with the Void.  He didn't even fight with the others, he wasn't old enough."<br>
<br>
You say, "I want to start a certain type of peaceful relationship. We are not all those people."<br>
<br>
You say, "And I am very deeply sorry for your loss."<br>
<br>
You say, "I could never imagine losing a child."<br>
<br>
You say, "And your reaction is warranted."<br>

A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "Oh, but you see, he was not lost, not then.  Not until the madness took him as the years went by, our isolation, his fear never ceased."<br>

You sigh.<br>

You say, "That is troubling."<br>
<br>
You say, "Tell me, what is it I can do to try and repair the damage.  I will do all that is within my power."<br>
<br>
You say, "No one should have to go through what you have, what he has."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "I want to know that this town has changed.  I had hoped that our little reunion party would bring out someone who remembered, someone who was there."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "I wanted to see the truth of them.  Had they found a soul in all of these years?  Would the town part with paltry coins to save one of their own?"<br>
<br>
You say, "Honestly, I'm not sure I can assure you that. I can assure you that there are people that are changed, that are trying to make a difference."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "And what did I see?  Mostly I saw the townsfolk upset that their bank was temporarily closed."<br>
<br>
You say, "Yes, they can be a rowdy lot...in general terms."<br>
<br>
You say, "If you looked closely though, you'd see us."<br>

A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "One 'Lady' even offered to take up the ransom fund... until the bank reopened, then she saw no need to pay.  They don't care for life."<br>
<br>
You say, "I care. Not only for the life of one of "our own" but for those who have been wronged."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "But I'm kinder than them.  I wanted to give those with a soul a chance to step forward, to do what wasn't done for my son all of those years ago."<br>
<br>
You say, "I have stepped forward. And have every intention of trying to make things right."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "And that you have.  You keep your money, and the {{PRel|Desert Rat Gang|Desert Rats}} will leave this town.  {{PRel|Drinsn}} has been released by my associates."<br>
<br>
You say, "Will your gang withdraw? I would like to speak with you more."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "The Desert Rats will leave this town, yes.  Perhaps we will speak again another time."<br>
<br>
You say, "Please, keep in touch."<br>

A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "Hold on to your soul.  It is rare in this world."<br>
<br>
You say, "We can come to terms hopefully soon."<br>
<br>
You say, "Thank you for giving us a chance."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "You misunderstand me.  You are my terms, and they have been fulfilled."<br>
<br>
You say, "Well, going forward with a semi relationship."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "Ahhh.  That we shall see."<br>
<br>
You nod.<br>

You say, "Thank you again."<br>
<br>
A soft whisper fills your ear and the unmistakable sound of a woman's voice says, "Farewell."<br>
<br>
You notice your sailor guarding the dock speaking to a man who seems to want to come onto your ship.<br>
<br>
You disembark.<br>
[The Crossing, Landfall Dock]<br>
The dock here is teeming with travelers, stevedores and bales and bales of goods.  The waves of the Segoltha River mingle with the darker blue, salty water of the ocean to the east, marking this as a deep water estuary.  Ships from all corners of Elanthia put into port here, bringing all the races and professions together in this waterfront town.  You also see Lil' Jonn, the Bloody Sabre, the Selkie's Secret, the White Raven, the Spirit of Katamba, the Reshalian Revenge, the Rabid Guppy, the Clockwork Shade, the Mistress of Hearts, the Menace, the Majestic Sea-Cow, the Wavedancer, the Sixth Passage, the Sea Witch, the Katamba's Eclipse, the Maverick, the Jolly Roger, the Anchor and Chain, Dragon's Last Dance, the Precious Pearl, M'Riss Behavin', the Queen's Ransom, the Shadow Star, the Excelsior, the Scarlet Maiden, The Star of Elamiri, the Huldah's Gambit, the Asaran Otso, Seraglio, a barrel of fishing poles, a barrel of fish bait, a basket of normal fishing line and a bucket of hooks.<br>

You nod politely.<br>

You say, "Hello."<br>

You see [[Drinsn]], a Human.<br>
[[Drinsn]] has an angular face with heavy jowls, brown eyes and an aquiline nose.  His brown hair is short and straight.  He has black skin and a slender build.<br>
He is tall for a Human.<br>
He appears to be an adult.<br>
He is clean shaven.<br>
He is in good shape.<br>
<br>
He is wearing a shirt with the symbol of the First Provincial Bank embroidered at the cuffs, a pair of black spidersilk pants and a pair of boots.<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] says, "Hello.  I'm [[Drinsn]], the manager of the First Provincial Bank."<br>
<br>
The sleek white lynx growls, "It's done, then?" ([[Mazrian]])<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] says, "I... huh."<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] peers quizzically at a sly-looking sleek white lynx.<br>
<br>
You ask [[Drinsn]], "You are alright?"<br>

[[Drinsn]] says, "Oh, yes, actually."<br>
<br>
You ask [[Drinsn]], "Fantastic, would you like an escort?"<br>
><br>
[[Drinsn]] says, "I mean, it's been quite a time.  I've been stuffed in a cargo hold for... well, I'm not sure how long it was, really."<br>
><br>
[[Drinsn]] says, "I was sedated with some strange tea."<br>
<br>
You say to [[Drinsn]], "I am glad we were able to negotiate your release."<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] says to you, "Oh, yes please.  I'm still a bit disoriented, I think.  I... the pirates just pushed me out here and told me to 'go to the White Raven.'  I figured it was best to listen."<br>
<br>
You say, "Very good."<br>
<br>
You say, "Please, feel free to join me."<br>

[[Drinsn]] asks, "Negotiate my release?"<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] asks, "Is the bank alright?"<br>
<br>
You say, "Yes, I will bring you there now."<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] slowly empties his lungs.<br>
<br>
You move into position to block attacks against [[Drinsn]]!<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] says, "I hate a fuss.  I hope things weren't too bad while I was gone.  The bank has a reputation to protect."<br>
<br>
You say, "It was tense."<br>
<br>
You say, "But we pulled through."<br>
<br>
[First Provincial Bank, Lobby]<br>
Marble tiled floors covered with heavy rugs and walls of polished jasper that gleam a cool blue mark this bank as solid and secure (and expensive).  An official money-changing booth is to one side and a row of tellers windows faces you.  Several guards, armed and armored, stand ready for trouble of any sort.  Near the tellers stands a table of fine wood for those who need to do some writing.  You also see a money-changer's booth, a bucket of viscous gloop and the tellers' windows.<br>
<br>
You whisper to [[Drinsn]], "You are a valued member of our city, we wanted you make sure you were safely returned"<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] whispers, "What happened?  I was here counting receipts in the back, and then there was a cracking sound, and the guards rushed in, and next thing I knew I had a bag over my head!"<br>
<br>
You whisper to [[Drinsn]], "It was the Desert Rat gang, they kidnapped you due to some appalling things that were done to one of their own years ago"<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] whispers, "They wouldn't talk to me, except for a woman who kept saying something about her son going crazy and the town being full of monsters.  She stopped talking after I was put into the cargo hold, though.  Then it was all pirates from then on out, and they weren't talkers."<br>
<br>
You whisper to [[Drinsn]], "Yes, that woman was put through some horrific events as was her son. We managed to come to a peaceful resolution and make sure you were returned"<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] whispers, "Good Kertigan what a day!"<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] whispers, "I should get back to work, though.  I can't imagine what things have been like with me gone!  Oh where is [[Susina]], I have to thank her and the guards for protecting the deposits."<br>
<br>
[[Drinsn]] wanders away, muttering to himself.<br>
<br>
<br>
Later after returning to my regular office:<br>
<br>
A First Provincial Bank employee runs up to you, giving you a huge hug and thanking you for returning [[Drinsn]] safely!  You feel a heaviness in your pocket that wasn't there before.<br>
<br>
The employee shakes your hand and darts back out!<br>
<br>
Wealth:<br>
  10 platinum Kronars (100000 copper Kronars).<br>

I want to thank the people who brought this event on, this was a really fun thing that didn't require combat, which worked out quite well for [[Anjinson]] who is retired and would rather peaceful resolutions to violence.<br>
