|p=I've finally finished work on something we originally planned to start doing next year, but in the grand tradition of believing that all can be accomplished with little to no sleep, it is out now!<br>

We thought it may be fun to introduce an additional festival gift that would be upgraded at future festivals. The first incarnation of this is a {{PRel|Item:clockwork shark|clockwork shark}} being given out by the unfortunate {{PRel|Gnome inventor|Gnome inventor C. Filorux}}, who was tasked with creating an auction item this year, but fell short. You can find him in the Merchant Lounge currently, and if you ask him about his device, he'll step you through receiving one.<br>
<br>
The clockwork shark does a few minor things, it floats, it makes minor reconnaissance runs, it stays out of others hands generally, and it is an {{PRel|Appraise Focus}} special item. As an Appraise Focus special item, you do not need a minimum in appraisal to use it, and it has a shorter research time than normal. The version that the inventor is handing out will be set to one particular skill of your choice.<br>
<br>
Next year, the inventor will be back to kick it up a notch and include a second skill to the shark. The year after that he will add a third skill. After the third year, he will no longer want to work on any more upgrades to the shark. Meanwhile, there will be other small gifts each year that will work the same way.<br>
