Dubbed the 'Tear of the Sun' by locals, this gem is excavated from several small quarries within the Gemfire Mountains surrounding the Velaka Desert. The region's harsh climate tempered the crystallization process with excessive heat and aridity, enhancing the stone's natural brilliance and extraordinary fire.
Named for the pinnacle of the blazing day star's brightness, the spinel has been magically enhanced to display and array of colors as radiant as the sun's own.
Depending on the lighting, the jewel exhibits fiery scarlet, pale yellow and deep coral hues.
Color will change with time of day and lighting:
- In the daylight, the zenith spinel exhibits a pale yellow hue.
- Under indoor lighting, the zenith spinel exhibits a fiery scarlet hue.
- In the night's semidarkness, the zenith spinel exhibits a deep coral hue.
