Daerlynn Concert Series: Donalisa 3/13/2--4

As transcribed by Mykk Dalys

It has been 375 years, 189 days since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer. It is the 5th month of Uthmor the Giant in the year of the Iron Toad. It is currently summer and it is mid-morning. You feel somewhat certain it's somewhere about the Anlas of Hodierna's Blessing.

The sky above is a bright blue, and free of clouds.

Location

[Arthe Hollow Inn, Common Room] The room is filled with long, low tables and stools, where several people sit eating hearty bowls of Arthe Hollow's popular lamb stew. A large stone fireplace dominates one wall. Daisy Burdock, the inn's cook and waitress, crosses the room carrying a precarious arrangement of bowls and plates. She stops briefly to tease and joke with a regular customer or glance out the window. A sign is posted prominently next to the archway. You also see a polished wooden bar with some stuff on it, a wooden menuboard, an open doorway, and some wooden stairs.

Concert

Daerlynn says, "Hello..." Daerlynn exclaims, "This is a light turnout!" [ed. note: The main auction of the Theren Fest of 2004 is going on at the same time...] Donalisa nods to Daerlynn. Donalisa says, "no one likes me except you guys"

Gridaksma says, "ye need to write more songs about people so they HAVE to show up" Donalisa laughs at Gridaksma. Donalisa says, "I only write songs about people who will sleep with me or scare me" Donalisa ducks her head. Donalisa grins. Gridaksma asks, "which catagory do I fall under?" Gridaksma whistles a merry tune. Donalisa says, "scary" Donalisa nods to Gridaksma. Gridaksma begins pouting. Donalisa chuckles at Gridaksma.

Daerlynn exclaims, "That's the problem... the fest!" Daerlynn says, "Not you." Daerlynn gives Donalisa a gentle poke in the ribs. Donalisa chuckles at Daerlynn.

Guildleader Silvyrfrost just arrived. Donalisa curtsies to Silvyrfrost. Taffei blinks. Taffei glances at Silvyrfrost. Taffei gulps. Gridaksma offers Silvyrfrost a snifter of applejack brandy. Daerlynn smiles at Silvyrfrost. Silvyrfrost accepts Gridaksma's applejack brandy. Taffei quietly says, "Silvyrfrost is here." Taffei gulps. Donalisa nods. Silvyrfrost chuckles at Taffei. Taffei blushes a bright red color. Donalisa inhales a great swallow of air. Donalisa slowly empties her lungs. Donalisa says, "alright, now, tension just went up" Anlise exclaims, "You'll be fine!" Anlise praises Donalisa. Donalisa grins. Donalisa exclaims, "Thanks!"

Gridaksma says to Donalisa, "don't worry about her, I'll distract her" Gridaksma flirts with Silvyrfrost. Silvyrfrost smiles demurely, giving Gridaksma her full attention. Donalisa laughs at Gridaksma. Silvyrfrost glances at Gridaksma. Silvyrfrost rolls her eyes. Gridaksma takes a seat near Silvyrfrost. Gridaksma just edged a little closer to the Void!

Daerlynn recites:

"Thank you all for coming!"

Daerlynn beams!

Daerlynn recites:

"We have a wonderful concert tonight!"

Daerlynn says, "Probably the only one ever that I can probably expect a touch of the macabre." Daerlynn hums to herself. Daerlynn grins at Donalisa.

Donalisa casually observes the area. Donalisa scratches one ear, looking bemused. Donalisa smiles innocently.

Daerlynn recites:

"So without further ado, the darkness of Donalisa!"

Donalisa curtsies.

Donalisa says, "Thanks for coming this eve" Donalisa purrs.

Donalisa says, "my first song is dedicated to a really nice person" Donalisa coughs.

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"So many are dragging me down
To the depths of my misery
But do I want to die?
But do I want to die? "

Donalisa emphatically sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live
Yes, I was getting better but then
Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live."

Donalisa glances at Gridaksma.

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Because of fears I feel this way
With the black aura of misery
But do I want to die?
But do I want to die?"

Gridaksma snorts, loudly. Donalisa gulps.

Donalisa emphatically sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live
Yes, I was getting better but then
Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live."

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Rot the flesh from my bones
    Grind me in dark defeat
But do I want to die?
But do I want to die?"

Donalisa fidgets nervously.

Donalisa emphatically sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live
Yes, I was getting better but then
Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live."

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Maledictions are doing
Their best to impale my soul
But do I want to die?
But do I want to die?"

Donalisa emphatically sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live
Yes, I like to whine, but
Oh Gods, Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live
I really was getting better but then
Gridaksma Broke My Will to Live."

Donalisa curtsies. Gridaksma lets out a hearty cheer for Donalisa!

Donalisa says, "this next one I sang recently in Lang for a contest"

Donalisa says, "It's a story and song" Donalisa smiles.

Donalisa gets some polished toe bells with multi-colored enameled jester diamonds from inside her fiery scarlet haversack. Donalisa kneels down. Donalisa puts on some polished toe bells with multi-colored enameled jester diamonds. Donalisa stands up.

Donalisa recites:

"In the deep deserts, it is said that people live a life that can be cruel and harsh. Close your eyes and listen to the susurrant sounds of the sand as it forms waves almost suspended in time like a vast golden sea. "

Donalisa recites:

"The deep ripples are broken this Katamba-moon night by a standing figure poised gracefully in front of a small campfire. Sitting cross-legged upon a finely woven mat, is a man who looks well pleased with himself."

Donalisa recites:

"If you're very quiet, you can hear the light tones of silver bells being carried gently on the cooling desert winds."

Toe bells jangling rhythmically, Donalisa stamps her feet in a light shimmer of sound. Toe bells jangling rhythmically, Donalisa stamps her feet in a light shimmer of sound.

Donalisa recites:

"I've titled my song, Dainty Toe Bells."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Shlingggg shlink tinka t-tink
    Zinggg sinka tinka t-ting!"

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"With lissome movements, setting toe bells jingling
    Gossamer veils caressed her skin
Vanilla scents from orchids were wafting
As she defiantly lifted her chin."

Donalisa recites:

"Now this made the man, who was watching, very angry. He had bought this dancing slave with the understanding she would dance on command and be docile. He had little time or the patience to put up with rebellion."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Faster and faster, she twirled and lept
Her arms spread wide to the star strewn sky
Her lovely blue eyes were hard with hate
She was much too proud to cry."

Donalisa recites:

"The man thoughtfully stroked his chin as she continued to dance. He would either break her or kill her. Whichever came first, made no difference to him. Yes, she was talented and pretty, but another could be bought just as easily."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her skin was kissed with dewy sweat
    Her breath rasped harder, harder
Her legs were blurs of pale silks
As with her soul she'd barter."

Donalisa recites:

"He gazed at her thoughtfully as he tried to figure out what she was up to. He sensed a small flicker of a triumphrunt smile, so briefly, on her lips."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her back arched further than any living back should
With one last spin as her silver toe bells jingled
With a loud forboding snap, it broke like wood
And her cry of death with her tears of joy, mingled."

Donalisa recites:

"The man sat there for a long time in shock. How was this possible? He was more upset that he had had no control over her death than the death itself. With rage suffusing his every fiber, he took out his dagger and cut off each silver belled toe off her feet. He walked away, leaving her broken body where it fell, and tossed the bloody toes onto the sand."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Years of wind-blown sand did scour
Dainty toes that wore bells on demand
Soon nothing remained of flesh or bones
Only silver bells gleaming on the golden sand."

Donalisa recites:

"The desert sands seemed to always blow off of the pretty toe bells. It was as if the sand was trying to avoid even touching the bells more than it had to. They glowed eerily red in the dark of the night."

Donalisa enigmatically sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A gnarled old nomad, tired and bent
Found the toe bells a-glitter, alone on the sand
His joy at the treasure brought joy to his heart
As he turned them over and over in his wrinkled old hand."

Donalisa recites:

"The old man was dressed poorly and one could tell that though he was honest, this found treasure was like a prayer answered. He had been worried that he had no money to buy his only grandchild a wedding gift, and this had saddened him. His face had lit up with joy as he carefully tucked the bells in his sack."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A lovely gift to give to his granddaughter
Was the thought that entered his mind
She was soon to be married and he had little money
So, these toebells should do her just fine."

Donalisa recites:

"On the day of the wedding, he gifted the toebells. And his granddaughter wept tears of joy. She slid them onto her toes that night. Then danced for her wealthy new husband, and danced, and danced, and danced................."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Shlingggg shlink tinka t-tink
    Zinggg sink tinka t-ting!"

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "With eyes wide with terror
    She danced all that night
    Her body shook with exhaustion
Her face was a mask of pure fright."

Donalisa recites:

"Her husband, lying upon the expensive wedding pillows on the floor of their luxurious tent, watched his beautiful bride's dancing become wild with strange passions. "

Donalisa helplessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her husband, at first, was delighted
Then realized she couldn't stop her dance
He tried to grasp her twirling legs
But his hands fell upon the bells, instead, by chance."

Donalisa recites:

"As his fingers met with the silver toe bells, his young bride stopped suddenly and dropped into a heap at his feet. The red glow of the bells brightened and seemed to flow up his hand till it reached his chest. His eyes widened with surprise as he felt his heart flutter. He died with staring eyes and a grimace of wrenching pain on his lips."

Donalisa hauntingly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The tired young widow was crying
As the dawn's light flowed over the ground
The bells' seemed to whisper, softly
     What comes around

Goes around, and around, and around."

Donalisa smiles as she raises her chin a little defiantly. Then seems to look straight into your eyes, her own eyes catching the light in just a way, that her pupils seem to glisten red instead of black.

Donalisa recites:

"The young woman slowly removed the toe bells as she gazed at the dead man. A small wicked smile curved the corner of her lips."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"With one last glance at the dead man
The young face slowly returned to its norm
There was now, no face of the dead slave girl
Only the sad weeping widowed bride's form.
      A weeping blue-eyed widow's form....."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Shlingggg shlink tinkaaaa t-tink
    Zinggg sinkaaa tinka t-ting
    Slith zinth thintaaa thint....nnnnth...ah."

Donalisa takes off some polished toe bells with multi-colored enameled jester diamonds. Donalisa puts her bells in her mesh backpack. Donalisa says, "cursed bells..." Donalisa smiles. Donalisa curtsies.

Donalisa asks, "nice fest going on, huh?" Donalisa grins. Donalisa says, "fests are fun" Donalisa nods.

Donalisa recites:

"This is a song inspired by something Roxana Bloodlan once said to me. I've titled this song, The Fest. "

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud
    Tih-Chee, Tih-Chee, Tih-Chee
    Buh-Bump, Buh-Bump, Buh-Bump
    Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock
    Ding-Ding, Ding-Ding, Ding-Ding"

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A tall mime with face painted white
Gripped tightly, a sign like a large sphere
It proclaimed to all who could read
That a fest ship was docked at the pier
    Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock
It was docked at the pier."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The ship was a dull black behemoth
That seemed to absorb the light of day
It was festooned with bright banners
    Proclaiming great things on display
    Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud
    Great things were on display."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Lovely fest this should be!" villagers claimed
As their eyes beheld glittering jewels
For the gems were passed to all boarding
Handed to them by mimes dressed like fools
    Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud
    Dressed like motley fools."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Racks and tables held lovely attire
Each one unique and desirable to wear
And none of them were too expensive
Though each was lovely beyond compare
    Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud
    Grand beyond compare."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Beasts of every kind were in gilded cages
They paced silently behind their bars
Their eyes shone with fevered longings
Their bodies showed faint whipping scars
    Tih-Chee, Tih-Chee, Tih-Chee
    Crisscrossed whipping scars."

Donalisa fingers her bullwhip as her eyes take on a daring look!

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Tables were ladened with dishes, exotic
Wafting from many deck scattered tents
It made the fest goers so very hungry
    Enticing appetites with their scents
    Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock
    Such appetizing scents. "

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"All the crew and clerks were silent
Each one was dressed as a mime
    Their bodies capered and pranced
When the ship's bells started to chime
    Ding-Ding, Ding-Ding, Ding-Ding
    The ship's bells did chime."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The town was left quickly far behind
As the ship sped from the pier
The people could not leave the ship
And could not scream out their fear
    Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud, Thu-Thud
Their hearts were filled with fear."

Donalisa hauntingly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A ship, black as a starless night
A vision like unto a floating fort
It rides with no disturbing wake
    It quietly slips into port
    It quietly slips into port
It quietly slips into another port...."

Donalisa curtsies. Donalisa smiles. Donalisa exclaims, "Thanks!" Donalisa purrs deeply, her eyes drooping partially shut.

Donalisa says, "now.." Donalisa says, "on a lighter note.." Donalisa chuckles. Donalisa says, "kind of, anyways"

Donalisa recites:

"Treasure and fame have their draws...I titled this song, The Cellar."

Donalisa recites:

"There's great treasure to be found, but
    Don't go in the cellar
    Don't go in after dark
    Down there is a dweller
Whose bite is worse than its bark."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The lad was itching for adventure. He wanted riches and fame galore
He was not a finger waggler. He was use to blood and gore
He trained his body greatly. His arms could lift a horse
His mind never dwelt on failure, as he won with weapons of force."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He never shirked from battle. Confidence was in his stride
His eyes were clear of guile and they shined with inner pride
The fire within him burned brightly. He depended on his skill and might
He carried no magic inside him. He never needed it to win a fight."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Battle fury that pooled within him, could be called upon with ease
No foe could stand against him, only their death could then appease
The afternoon sun was waning, as he gathered his many weapons to go
He filled his lantern with oil and made sure everything was just so."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He entered the dim drear cellar with his weapons of sharpened steel
No fear or other worries had he, only the taste of battle did he feel
A soft clanking was heard in the dark. The smell of damp mold was in the air
A female of great beauty could be dimly seen, chained in this dreary lair."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He had heard no tales of a damsel. His eyes grew in wonder at the sight
She looked so fragile and helpless, he had to rescue her from her plight
He set his lantern down carefully and saw her flinch from the steady light
He smiled reassuringly at her and gently talked to ease her fright."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I'll set you free from these chains. No harm will come to you from me"
"I came here to destroy a monster, but then, I'll help you flee."
She looked away in much distress as tears slid quietly down her face
Her beauty was so breathtaking, that it made the warrior's heart race."

Donalisa recites:

"There's great treasure to be found, but
    Don't go in the cellar
    Don't go in after dark
    Down there is a dweller
Whose bite is worse than its bark."

Donalisa nods.

Donalisa regretfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The warrior searched every nook and cranny and never found his foe
He turned back to the damsel to tell her that it was time to go
But instead of a beautiful maiden, chained down in this dreary place
He saw a giant black widow spider, and of the maiden, not a trace."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He saw the empty chains lying on the cold stone floor
And bits of hair and bones mixed with a lot of dried up gore
He then noticed dusty weapons piled in that same corner
Amongst gems and coins of dokora, lirum, and kronar."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The spider hissed and waved its hairy forelegs in a blur
"You foolish warrior. You wanted wealth more than her"
The warrior looked straight into her many eyes and replied
"No, that's not true, it is your life I can't abide."

Donalisa matter-of-factly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"For I am a simple warrior, dedicated and true to my credo"
"And if I must die this day, it won't be because of my libido"
"I hope that at least part of my quest will be fulfilled."
"I'll trust in my battle prowess and the favor of Everild."

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"With that he sprung into action, his blade at dizzying speed
With the inborn grace he was born with, bolstered by his creed
He slashed the giant legs into ribbons of uselessness
And with Everild's blessings the battle was a hearty success."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The warrior knelt in prayer and gave thanks to Everild
And the warriors full quest was realized, fulfilled
Before his astonished eyes, stood another damsel, unchained
"You have been tested and found not wanting" she claimed."

Donalisa recites:

"His full dedication to Everild pleased the god greatly.
The damsel, who served Everild, stood aside and revealed a full length mirror.
The lad saw himself. He saw how he stood proud, and unvanquished.
The lad understood that the greatest treasure was inside of himself, for if you're not happy inside, nothing on the outside will
    Ever
    Fulfill you.

Of course it didn't hurt getting six thousand plats worth of weapons gems and coins..."

Donalisa grins. Donalisa curtsies.

Donalisa says, "now a love song" Donalisa nods.

Donalisa recites:

"I wrote this little love song and titled it "You and Me Forever Because That Is What They Want and I'm Too Tired To Argue About It Right Now""

Donalisa inhales a great swallow of air. Donalisa slowly empties her lungs.

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"As I strolled a dark and gloomy beach
one fine bright and sunny day
I saw a beautiful sea monster
     troll-ugly, swimming in the bay."

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I waved it in and hugged it tight
     while staying out of reach
It shied away and grabbed my leg
and hung on like a leech."

Donalisa just edged a little closer to the leech!

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I knew it fell in love with me
as it tried to eat my head
So I asked it to please marry me
right after I killed it dead."

Donalisa just edged a little closer to the head!

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"It agreed we'd have a lovely life
     together as husband and wife
Because with only one of us alive
there would hardly be any strife."

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Our wedding was grand with friends galore
     that numbered up to one
There was no food nor drinks or songs
so it was a lot of fun."

Donalisa happily sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The moral of this story is clear
     to any who are deaf
If you want to be happy all your life
grow up to be a Chef."

Donalisa curtsies. Donalisa grins.

Donalisa says, "now another change of pace" Donalisa smiles as she looks at you

Donalisa recites:

"One day I was thinking about how we greet and depart from friends and family. Many hug some don't."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He pulled away from his mother's hug
He thought he was too old for such
She smiled sadly with a quiet sigh
Her son was avoiding her gentle touch."

Donalisa tenderly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"My son" said she, "one day you'll see"
"That a simple hug is more precious than gold"
    "A parent's heart-ease when a child clasps"
"Small arms, gleefully, a parent to hold."

Donalisa nods.

Donalisa tenderly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A sweetheart of your own will warmly hug"
"Your hearts will seem to beat as one"
"A boyhood friend will gladly hug and greet"
"For true old friendships are never done."

Donalisa tenderly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"And on a battlefield I hope you never see"
"Many a dying warrior has grieviously lain"
"Wishing for just one last hug a'fore they die"
"Just to ease their fear and pain."

Donalisa tenderly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"And on that day when I breathe my last"
"I'll still think of you as my child"
"My love will never fade away for you"
"These feelings can not be reconciled."

Donalisa wistfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The young lad did, with grudging consent
Allowed himself, then, to be held
But no fullness in his heart, did he feel
Because within his heart he rebelled."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The years went by with steady certainty
All his mother had said had been truth
And as he held his dying mother's hand
He regretted his past awkwardness of youth."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The son with tears unbidden to eyes
Stood with tousled head bent in reverie
As his mother's past words seeped into his heart
He fully understood her simple homily."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"No hugs could she give or feel in return
She didn't even know he sat by her side
He bent down low and kissed her cheek
And gave her one last hug as he cried."

Donalisa curtsies.

Donalisa clears her throat. Donalisa asks, "no youngsters here, correct?" Donalisa casually observes the area. Donalisa smiles wickedly

Taffei giggles. Silvyrfrost raises her hand. Silvyrfrost ducks her head. Silvyrfrost whistles an innocent tune. Donalisa laughs! Mykk chuckles. Donalisa grins at Silvyrfrost. Silvyrfrost grins at Donalisa. Rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, Taffei hooks her thumbs in her pockets and grins mischievously. Fazehund says, "I'm young at heart." Fazehund smiles.

Donalisa says, "I titled this song, Hands"

Donalisa says, "There are times that after work, a man and son just talk."

Donalisa says, "One day the son looked up at his dad and asked him in interest."

Donalisa sweetly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Dad, you're so clever with your hands
"You can do so many things
"Tell me all about your fingers
"And why you only wear one of your rings."

Donalisa patiently sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Son, this first finger you can use
"To point at what you might need
"The thumb is for turning pages
"In any journal you would like to read."

Donalisa patiently sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"And this finger that wears a ring
"You'll use when you get married
"This little one is for your ear
"When it itches inside and feels harried."

Donalisa guardedly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"But dad, the son then replied
    "You didn't explain the middle
"That one, my son, I'll explain
"After you marry and no longer little."

Donalisa cheerfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The boy was satisfied with that
And the years flew by so fast
He'd grown to be a fine young man
Who was ready to marry at last."

Donalisa grins.

Donalisa cheerfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "It was a beautiful wedding
But before the bride and groom would go
The son took his father aside
The answer to the middle finger to know."

Donalisa casually observes the area.

Donalisa sheepishly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

" Many years ago, you promised
"That you would tell me this day
"Of what use of my middle one
"Is it for work or is it........... for play?"

Donalisa coughs. Donalisa chortles softly at some secret joke.

Donalisa mischievously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The dad grinned at his son and said
"Tonight your manhood you will prove
"But you will get tired and can't...
"And get to where you can hardly move."

Donalisa mischievously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"You use the middle to poke her
"While you lie beside her in bed
"Tell her 'Go back to sleep, silly woman!'
"While you poke her in the head."

Donalisa curtsies. Donalisa grins.

Gridaksma offers Donalisa a severed hand. Gridaksma says, "everyone should give her a hand." Donalisa laughs! Talorai laughs!

Donalisa says, "this next one was written with the promise of a certain person sleeping with me..." Donalisa casually observes the area.

Donalisa says, "no, not fooling around, just sleeping" Donalisa grins.

Redox says, "Uh huh." Daerlynn hums to herself.

Donalisa says, "I wrote this song that I titled, Roxana Bloodlan."

Donalisa exclaims, "Any similarity to anyone living or dead or living dead is...erm...just too bad, so there!"

Daerlynn says, "Surrrrre.." Donalisa coughs.

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Slipping through the sultry night
       Roxana
Her lovely form hints of delight
       Roxana."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The scent of her, the feel of her, the taste of her
Her silken hair, beyond compare, draws you into her lair
    Scintillating in her eyes
     are secrets that insinuate
       pleasures to surprise."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Her siren's voice ensnares
       Roxana
    She dances with abandoned cares
       Roxana."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Limbs weaving slow sinuous patterns
    Casting esoteric imports
    Her every movement designated
    Each libidinous glance exhorts. "

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Hips undulate in mesmerizing cadence
       Roxana
As your senses are overwhelmed with suspense
       Roxana."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Then in the dark folds of the night
As you succumb to her delicate charms
Soft is the touch of her fingertips
Warm is the embrace of her lovely arms."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "In the deeper shadows, though
    Two eyes that barely glow
    Watching with bated breath
    Enjoys a seeming private show."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "A hunger is aroused within
    Nefarious schemes evolve
There is no turning back for him
    His volition, tempered with resolve."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Come to me, my pretty one"
    His mind projects the thought
"Delights untold are what you'll have"
"For you're the one I sought."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Be mine forevermore"
    "I'll not ask nicely twice"
"If you reject my first advance"
    "You'll pay a painful price."

Donalisa kindly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Her laughter bubbles from within
No fear does she even show
She knows the secret lovers know
You can not take, you must bestow."

Donalisa nods.

Donalisa kindly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"My love is mine alone to give"
Roxana sent her thoughts to him
"There is no way to wrest it from me"
"I will give it not on a whim."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"So you reject my first advance?"
His thoughts were edged with his ire
"The price you'll pay will cost you dear"
"You will surely succumb to my desire."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "With stealthly step he vanished
A chill swept around her form
The sky filled with dreadful clouds
    Portending a frightful storm."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Slipping through the sultry night
       Roxana
Her lovely form hints of delight
       Roxana."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Her siren's voice ensnares
       Roxana
    She dances with abandoned cares
       Roxana."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Hips undulate in mesmerizing cadence
       Roxana
As your senses are overwhelmed with suspense
       Roxana."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her head turns to scan the dark
She feels she is not alone
    Her eyes hold bewilderment
Her throat betrays a quiet moan."

Donalisa nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Murmurs of a strange dialect
Seem far, but yet, are clear
They call to her soul insistantly
She feels the first pangs of fear."

Donalisa nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her limbs feel leaden and heavy
Her eyes want to close on their own
Her heart's steady beat slows down
Her will to resist has flown."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Softly, fingers slide upon her
Up and down so very slow
Her eyes see no one close beside her
As she sways, sleepily, to and fro."

Donalisa smiles as she stops singing and looks into your eyes for a moment before taking a deep breath to continue.

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"When once more her eyes did open
The light of dawn was streaming in
A frozen white rose was on her pillow
And the lingering strains of a violin."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"In her memories was a gypsy man
    His touches had been ecstacy
But he had an evil, icy smile
That would make most people try to flee."

Donalisa nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her doors and windows still were locked
No one of flesh could have entered
Her mind wandered a frightful path
Her details of the night, obscured."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"She has a secretive lover now
       Roxana
One that she would like to disavow Roxana."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He casts no shadow that she can see
       Roxana
He ignores her silent, fearful plea
       Roxana."

Donalisa slowly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He'll command her for his own delight
       Roxana
He will visit her every moon-lit night Roxana"

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"For naught is her wit and charms
       Roxana
She can not avoid his ghostly arms
       Roxana
         Roxana
           Roxana."

Donalisa smiles nervously, looking toward a shadowy corner. Donalisa curtsies.

Donalisa says, "there is a song I wrote long ago"

Donalisa says, "it was inspired on a trip to Shard that an empath took me on" Donalisa smiles.

Donalisa recites:

"This is a true tale that can only be seen by the eyes of empaths that touch a special quilt in Shard. The song is based on the vision an empath will see after touching the stain and the articles found in Milene's Rose Inn's back room. You have to pick locks to see the quilt, the broken icon, and the other things in my song."

Donalisa says, "I titled my song, Black Roses For Milene."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"By the fire she sat smiling
Upon the two young girls sleeping
Nimble fingers worked on the cloth
She hummed as she was quilting."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"When suddenly the door did burst
And filled the room with armored foes
Swift she did react to guard her girls
As they shot her with their bows."

Donalisa helplessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"And as she laid helplessly dying
With swords they ran her daughters through
In anguish too deep to bear,to them
Her silent lips said "I love you."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"They left the house in disarray
Whilst blood seeped on the floor
    Silence shrouded the fire-lit room
Till one man entered through the door."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"In shining armor the man did kneel
His shadowed face a mask of woe
He wrapped her body within the quilt
As down his cheeks the tears did flow."

Donalisa helplessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He to his guild did seek some help
But none were there to join him
All alone, he returned to home
With burdened soul and face set grim."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He looked into his mirror and said
"I'll hunt and kill who did this deed"
And with a vengence that very eve
He sought them all and did succede."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "The mirror split in twain
Upon the dresser carved with the gods of light
The warrior life had been his bane
No longer would upholding good be his fight."

Donalisa hauntingly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"In anger he did shun his guild
Then broke his claymores in two
He vowed to never fight again
Then snapped his icon of Chadatru."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"With broken heart he buried them
As heavy tears in eyes did swim
Then sought a way to honor her
He opened Milene's Black Rose Inn."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"His rooms are barren of things of cheer
Except the portrait of his lovely wife
A cot, a dresser with a broken mirror
Are what is part of his lonely life."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "There is no laughter here
    Each day is like another
    He keeps his life austere
    His crying he does smother."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "He turned away from Chadatru
And sought no one his soul to ease

    But Hodierna saw his plight
She put the horror of that night

Into a tiny stain of blood
A vision that only an empath sees."

Donalisa smiles sadly and bows her head as the last notes of her song ends. Donalisa curtsies.

Taffei says, "How sad." Donalisa says, "sad but true" Donalisa rubs Taffei gently, massaging her muscles. Redox says, "I shall have to visit that Inn." Donalisa nods to Redox. Anlise nods at Redox, obviously agreeing with his views. Anlise says, "I mainly just stick to the Golden Phoenix."

Donalisa recites:

"While walking along the Northern Trade Route, I noticed something and investigated. It was a tree with a black brand on it. I wrote this song I titled, The Lad."

Donalisa inhales a great swallow of air. Donalisa slowly empties her lungs.

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Who is this lad so young and fair
With bootless feet and tousled hair
Whose legs kick out into the air
Without the grace of a dancer's flair."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Who is this lad so wild-eyed
    That mimics a zephyr's ride
Whose face has seen no razor's glide
For many a moon's ebb and tide."

Donalisa firmly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I watched and heard his brave young words
Defiance that flew as high as birds
His courage did not give away
For o'er an andaen and a day."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Who is this lad so full of strength
Whose neck has pulled the rope's full length?"

Donalisa smiles sadly as the last notes die away. Donalisa just edged a little closer to the Noose! Donalisa sadly says, "That song was inspired by the gallows tree north of Kaerna village." Donalisa curtsies.

Gridaksma quietly says, "so dark" Taffei nods to Gridaksma. Donalisa asks, "a touch of the wicked?" Gridaksma just touched Donalisa. Redox grins at Gridaksma. Taffei snickers. Donalisa laughs at Gridaksma. Talorai chuckles. Donalisa chuckles. Taffei says, "That's why Grid likes you so much." Redox says, "Or vice versa." Gridaksma says, "she's got a nice tail" Gridaksma whistles a merry tune. Taffei giggles. Mykk chortles softly at some secret joke.

Donalisa says, "another change of pace" Donalisa grins.

Donalisa says, "This is a song I wrote about one man's need to possess a maiden he saw wandering the woods alone."

Donalisa says, "I titled this song, The Lost Maiden "

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He looked upon her not with love
Within him a deep yearning for her did stoke
His eyes took in her night-black tresses
And eyes the color of wispy smoke
    Eyes of softest tender smoke"

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Deep within him he hungered for
Possession of this slender winsome maiden
Plots and plans swirled through his head
His mind with evil delights was laden
His heart was so vile laden."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He laid in wait for her to wander
Through the woods where he first spied her
He would take from her all her freedom
Her fate in his hands would be sure
    Her fate so sadly sure."

Donalisa painfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"No outcry from her would he heed
No thoughts of mercy would stay him
He fingered the ropes in his hands
That he would use to bind each limb
    Would securely bind each limb."

Donalisa painfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"She would feel so hopelessly lost
And have no way to deny his evil lust
He'd have her inner spirit broken
    While she was helplessly trussed
    So thoroughly trussed."

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The time drew nigh and he readied to spring
Upon the unsuspecting maiden so fair
He pounced and encircled her neck
    And she was caught unaware
    She was so unaware."

Donalisa darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Her warm breath softly touched by his ear
And his heart pounded hard within his chest
He secured his prize with binding ropes
Fetters from which escape she could not wrest
    Surely could not wrest."

Donalisa hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Off to his lonesome dwelling he took her
Delighting at her winsome, hobbled form
He'd break her to his will at leisure
He ignored her bent head so forlorn
    Her head hung down forlorn."

Donalisa matter-of-factly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He loved running his rough hands along her legs
And mounted her and used his whip on her sparringly
Tiny flicks of pain he gave each day
That landed on her backside unerringly
    On her quivering flesh unerringly."

Donalisa fingers her bullwhip as her eyes take on a daring look!

Donalisa wryly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He tenderly groomed her and fed her well
And each day he vigorously put her through her paces
His evil lust for far-flung fame and riches
Would finally be met at the horse races
Yes, this horse would do fine in races."

Donalisa smiles at you wickedy. Donalisa says, "Yes, a horse that has never won a race is called a maiden." Donalisa curtsies. Donalisa grins.

Donalisa says, "I seem to have run out the time" Taffei says, "Awwww" Daerlynn grins. Redox exclaims, "More!" Dulcinie nods to Gridaksma. Katrinai says, "Encore! " Taffei exclaims, "Encore!" Donalisa says, "Thanks all for coming to hear my songs and stories" Redox exclaims, "encore!" Mykk says, "Always time for an encore." Donalisa chuckles. Gridaksma grins at Donalisa. Mykk smiles at Donalisa. Daerlynn nods to Mykk. Talorai nods. Fazehund exclaims, "More more!"

Donalisa says, "alright"

Donalisa asks, "silly scary or sad?" Donalisa ducks her head.

Talorai grins. Taffei exclaims, "Silly!" Redox exclaims, "All three!" Donalisa laughs! Taffei giggles at Redox. Redox grins at Donalisa. Fazehund chuckles. Taffei exclaims, "That too!" Mykk says, "I like your scary." Silvyrfrost takes a sip of her brandy. Donalisa chuckles. Redox says, "sounds like my first marriage." Mykk says, "But it's all good." Mykk grins. Donalisa says, "my scary are long" Fazehund hisses, "ssscarry" Donalisa chuckles. Taffei snickers at Redox. Fazehund hisses, "my preciousss" Donalisa chuckles at Fazehund. Taffei says, "I'm not scared" Taffei flips her motley cloak over her shoulders. Donalisa says, "quick silly one" Fazehund's tail undulates in an agitated fashion. Gridaksma asks, "how about... a prop based song?"

Donalisa sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Soap soap soap soap soap soap soap soap "

Taffei exclaims, "Yea!" Donalisa says, "thought I'd sing about eight bars..." Talorai chuckles. Motarra smiles at Taffei. Donalisa curtsies. Redox laughs! Taffei snickers. Katrinai giggles. Motarra laughs! Dulcinie laughs! Donalisa grins. Mykk laughs! Fazehund laughs! Taffei laughs! Mykk says, "Okay, not bad." Mykk chuckles. Motarra applauds. Katrinai grins at Donalisa. Raising her taffelberry mead to Donalisa, Taffei gives her a toast. Donalisa grins. Raising her Rissan brandy to Donalisa, Dulcinie gives her a toast. Fazehund says, "I give it an eight." Donalisa exclaims, "Thanks!" Donalisa chuckles. Gridaksma takes a sip of his bloodgrog. Mykk groans.

Redox says, "Now a real encore...." Fazehund smiles.

Donalisa asks, "alright,scary?"

Redox nods to Donalisa. Donalisa gnaws on her lip. Katrinai nods to Donalisa. Donalisa nods. Dulcinie shivers. Dulcinie nods.

Donalisa says, "This story I'm about to sing is of a shy young lad. So shy in fact, that he'd never even kissed a girl, yet."

Donalisa says, "I've titled this, The Mirror."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"One day, a shy young lad went exploring an old abandoned mansion
Within, he found a large silver mirror on a regal stand
All the furnishings were still in place, though old-fashioned
The people who had once lived there had liked living very grand."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The mirror was too dusty and the light too dim to see well
He drew the heavy drapes open to let in the late day's light
He found some folded old cloths under the stairwell
And proceeded to carefully clean it up all shiny-bright."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"As the last speck was off the surface, the sun faded away
But the mirror wasn't darkened at all, though it should have been
For a scene was revealed that was as light as a sunny day
Scores of lovely ladies, stangely attired, were dancing within."

Donalisa chants in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be part of us
Raise your voice with us in chant
    Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be one with us."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"They smiled and laughed as they spun around a wicker pillar
Their joy was evident with each graceful curtsy, leap, and spin
Each lovely lady was different, yet each had the same allure
Then suddenly they stopped, turned, looked and smiled at him."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The ladies beckoned him closer but the glass stopped him short
His frustration built higher and higher the more he tried to enter
They swirled closer with arms reaching as if for support
Then twirled and danced around the wicker pillar in their center."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"His hands splayed out against the unyielding mirror's surface
He could barely hear their distant-sounding siren's chanting
His emotions were ruling him as he ignored the mirror's purpose
Or what magical entertainments the lovely ladies were granting."

Donalisa chants in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be part of us
Raise your voice with us in chant
    Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be one with us."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"As the sky outside deepened and the stars could now be seen
Sweet scents softly wafted, and the mirror brightened even more
He pressed his body closer still, and felt an urge so keen
To enter the mirror's lovely pastoral enchanting arbor."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"His delight as the glass gave access to where he wanted to be
Soon turned to shock as his eyes fell once more upon the scene
The ladies looked like gruesome hags that pranced around with glee
Their eyes were not soft and sweet , but pinched and looked mean."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"They gathered close around him with drawn wires in their hands
And wrapped him all about in those tight shiny metal bands
He struggled and shouted out for help, not knowing of their plans
All the while they cackled evily, ignoring his shouted demands."

Donalisa chants in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be part of us
Raise your voice with us in chant
    Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be one with us."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"They lifted him bodily and carried him to the fancy wicker stand
Then opened up a hatch that was concealed from casual eyes
The poor lad was thrust inside as if it had been always planned
Their frantic dancing resumed amidst his soul-wrenching cries."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"One by one the wicker stand with oil soaked ribbons was festooned
Red, blue, and yellow were the colors that had been chosen
The fiery-looking colors and their chantings seemed attuned
And the lad's heart was thumping but his throat seemed frozen."

Donalisa sadly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"With shouts while careening ever faster 'round about the stand
They each grabbed a tong to snatch a hot coal from a brazier
Their intentions were clear, to the lad, that each oily strand
Would burn the wicker and him, painfully beyond measure."

Donalisa chants in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be part of us
Raise your voice with us in chant
    Come dance with us
    The dance of the covenant
    Be one with us."

Donalisa nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The sky darkened, the wind picked up, and fury seemed to harken
The ribbons flew from off the wicker stand as if they had wings
The sky filled with fiery brands that dropped as if to mark them
They raised their voices thrilling with the pain that fire brings."

Donalisa painfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Each haggard face burned as did their loathsome writhing forms
Their chanting voices started screaming and yelling
The shy lad was untouched by the gruesome fiery ribbon swarms
It was their burning hair and flesh, not his, he was smelling."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Then as sudden as it had started, the sky became blue and clear
The hags now looked beautiful again to his astonished eyes
They quickly pulled him from the stand and led him to a magic mere
Unbound him and led him into the waters, much to his surprise."

Donalisa quietly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "You danced with us
    The dance of the covenant
    You're a part of us
Bow your head, close your eyes with us in our renewal
    You danced with us
    The dance of the covenant
    You're part of us."

Donalisa recites:

"He bowed his head, happy to be alive, unburned and free from the wire bands. When he once more opened his eyes, he was back in the mansion all alone. The mirror was as dark as the room and he blindly felt his way out. "

Donalisa recites:

"He vowed to never look at another mirror, for the fear had left its mark on his soul. The shy ANCIENT man went home with an echo in his mind."

Donalisa hauntingly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

   "Come dance with us
     The dance of the covenant
      Be part of us
       Be part of us
        Be part of us."

Donalisa curtsies. Donalisa smiles. Donalisa exclaims, "Thanks!"

Daerlynn recites:
