Talk:Xerasyth

We may want to add something, because information about Sebastienne and Ignifera helping Xerasyth is only knowledge from the forums. I'm afraid that by posting it here like this without any type of disclaimer, people will be apt to assume it is known in-game. While Khurek DID claim they helped (by SPYING only) on the Crossing gweth, its only speculation if that's true or not, and the article may want to reflect that as well (edited) Thoughts? --Ysselt 16:23, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

As the player of one of the characters in question, I'm personally not at all comfortable with the way this is currently worded. I think it doesn't delineate between the parts of the article that are known ICly and the parts (namely those involving my character and Seb) which are not known ICly. Like Ysselt was saying, the only thing that is known in game is that Khurek has accused Sebastienne and Ignifera of spying for Xerasyth on Sothavi's meeting in Shard regarding tactics to stop/kill him and the other Adan'f who had been invading Shard. If people feel the need to include information that is not known in game, it should be specifically identified as such, in order to keep people from making metagaming mistakes. To be honest, things like this make me all that more hesitant to post non-public event information. Please change it. --Ignifera 16:53, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

I posted what is known, with Seb's permission no less. You're free to clarify further within the article. We are not doing the Natashya song and dance again. Reene 18:23, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

This isn't about trying to hide information, Reene, it's about trying to make a clear distinction between what's known IG and what was acknowledged OOC so that more event information doesn't get delegated to the two or three people involved. I only put up what I did earlier as a courtesy to the person posting, because I don't like just changing people's stuff. If you rather I just edit your edits without talking to you about why I think there needs clarification or a change, I can do it that way. This information is part of things still going on, and not general in game knowledge at all. If you look at the posts that Seb's player and myself made about this on play.net, the fact that this is only OOC information is mentioned more than once. --Ignifera 18:50, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

It is IC knowledge that Khurek accused Seb and Ignifera of helping Xerasyth and that's what I tried to convey. Like I said, I encourage you to rewrite that section to clarify if you wish. I just don't want to see another case of people systematically carving their character's name out of an article or series of articles because they want their participation in a game-changing event to be secret forever. Reene 19:20, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

To clarify a few things, that Sebastienne and Ignifera were spies for Xerasyth came straight from Khurek after the torture. Whether you believe it or not depends on whether or not you think Khurek is the real deal or just a jerk. If you believe it, fine, sing it to the heavens. ANYTHING else about us and Xerasyth, including ANY exact details, is going to be vague rumor in game at the absolute best, because neither Seb or Iggy are talking about it. Neither of us are wanting our names removed from this article so please don't compare it to the Natashya thing. Ignifera wants it made clear what is and isn't acceptable to treat as common knowledge in the game. We hadn't told ANYBODY about our working for Xerasyth, not our closest allies, so Warrior_Mage_02 shouldn't know details about precisely what we did for him. --Incarna 19:57, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

To be honest there aren't any details to add anyway. I just wrote what I knew. I'm already in the process of gutting the article in a vain attempt to make everyone happy, so chill for like an hour and see what I come up with. Reene 20:05, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

I edited it already to add in what Khurek actually accused Seb and Iggy of, as well as the OOC information that we provided on play.net. Feel free to use that if you decide to make more changes. --Ignifera 20:16, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

I like the changes. I might see about rearranging/cleaning the article up more later, but it works for now. Reene 22:14, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

There is a kidnapping section, but it is missing all of the original kidnappings when a member of each race was taken. I do not have access to the logs listing who was taken from each race, but I remember some of them, if we want to put that on there. Elf was Xelten, Human was Pathlone, Dwarf was I think Rhys, Halfling was originally Momus, but Momus escaped before any experiments were done. The Sanguine Eye provided a few as well.
