Raw vs. Lumber wood appraisal value (worth)

hmm, so I've been working my way through some value additions as I find 99 quality woods. And, I just realized that there is a different value on the stick/branch/limb/log as there is on the finished lumber. For example, a 99 quality walnut branch is:

You are certain that the walnut branch is worth exactly 487 Dokoras, 675 Kronars, or 540 Lirums.

Where the lumber (and this didn't come out 99, I didn't think to hand process it) increased in value, and so the 89 quality lumber is:

You are certain that the walnut lumber are worth exactly 560 Dokoras, 776 Kronars, or 621 Lirums.

Which value do we want on the individual woods? --Kythryn 21:17, 11 March 2016 (CST)

I would say you want to use the processed lumber value. This is the value work orders, final products, etc are based on. However, I cannot answer the related question: does a 89 quality stick processed into 99 quality lumber appraise for the same value as a 99 quality stick processed into 99 quality lumber? I will have to pay closer attention next time I go lumberjacking. - padhg (talk) 22:22, 11 March 2016 (CST)
Ok, did some more testing today once I found some more 99 quality. And, I hand processed (as opposed to using the Society Hall saw) 2 samples, one starting with 99 quality and the other with 95 quality. I do have the following shaping techniques for reference too: Basic Lumberjacking, Improved Logging, Arboreal Enlightenment, Bowcrafting Basics, Basic Fletching, Exotic Fletching, Shaper Specialization, and Shaper Theory.
The 95 quality...
You are certain that the bamboo stick has a quality of 95, placing it at 'nearly perfect' on the official Trader's Scale.
You are certain that the bamboo stick weighs exactly 30 stones. (stick=1 vol)
You are certain that the bamboo stick is worth exactly 128 Dokoras, 178 Kronars, or 143 Lirums.
BECAME
You are certain that the wood in the bamboo lumber has a quality of 99, placing it at 'perfect' on the official Trader's Scale.
You are certain that the bamboo lumber weighs exactly 30 stones.
You are certain that the bamboo lumber are worth exactly 147 Dokoras, 205 Kronars, or 164 Lirums.
The 99 quality...
You are certain that the bamboo log has a quality of 99, placing it at 'perfect' on the official Trader's Scale.
You are certain that the bamboo log weighs exactly 200 stones. (log=4 vol)
You are certain that the bamboo log is worth exactly 541 Dokoras, 750 Kronars, or 600 Lirums.
BECAME
You are certain that the wood in the bamboo lumber has a quality of 99, placing it at 'perfect' on the official Trader's Scale.
You are certain that the bamboo lumber weighs exactly 120 stones.
You are certain that the bamboo lumber are worth exactly 622 Dokoras, 862 Kronars, or 690 Lirums.
In summary, the weight was consistent across both LUMBER results but not across the RAW (stick/log) versions. Processing the raw wood increased the value in both cases, but the one that started with 95 had a lower end value (205 per vol) than the one that started at 99 (215.5 per vol).
So I guess the values on the wood need to be from raw 99 quality wood that has been processed into 99 quality lumber. If that sounds right, I'll go back and edit my last couple additions and use that going forward.--Kythryn 19:43, 13 March 2016 (CDT)
You've confirmed it. The value of any given wood should be the highest attainable value from processed lumber, based on 99 quality raw wood that is processed into 99 quality lumber. - padhg (talk) 13:18, 14 March 2016 (CDT)
