Talk:Travel (script)
The "AddToHighlightStrings" and "deletefromhighlightstrings" commands cause some people to lose there settings. You may want to delete these lines from your script. --Isharon 20:22, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Something important here on the travel script. Kraelyst's travel script includes a section that creates and removes highlight strings but something in that doesn't work right. In the past few weeks there have been at least a couple of people who have had their settings crash and either lose their settings or get to the point where they would log the character in, and the character would force drop because of the bad settings.
He's been contacted on this to take a look at it and said he'll do an update if he can find the problem, but as a stopgap, I'm recommending two things.
First, check your highlights section for "*" and "* * *" and delete any entries beyond the first of each.
Second, go into the script and comment out the addition and deletion of highlight strings in the script (this is near the top of the script so shouldn't be too bad).
This only effects people who use StormFront (I don't know if the Wizard version is set up the same way and have no idea what something like this in Genie would look like) and I doubt this will help for people currently missing settings, but it may help prevent more people losing their settings.
The survival check from haven to lang via the water needs to be increased. With 25 strength and 150 athletics, I cannot make the trip north. I am not sure what the requirement is, but even light burdened by taking off my gear I could not make it. It does teach athletics really well at 149-150 however.
To whomever is maintaining Travel (script)
I just wanted to say thanks for maintaining Kraelyst's Travel script, I think I speak for tons of players in saying that its been a part of our DR experience for years.
That being said, at some point the areas where it retrieves coin for travel expenses it has been changed to call a different script for getting the coin named .wd
The running of simultaneous scripts is not a feature of stormfront so this just hangs the script. I imagine it would also hang the script for a genie user without having the mysterious .wd
Could this script be fixed and made to function fully for SF users? I know that the older versions used to have the coin retrieval built in and that is the only way to make it fully compatible for both FE's.
