Zamidren Book Log (Very Long) · on 4/29/2009 8:59:09 PM 4025
Several days ago I went to look for Zamidren Book, author of the books on Necromancy and Lyras. Much to my surprise I managed to find him. Accompanied by Renucci, Markyn, Ignifera, and Totenus, I took Zamidren on a tour of some of the current front lines. There was much conversation about Lyras and her Generals, but little new information to be gleaned. Zamidren did however let his intentions known that he planned on aiding us in our efforts.

OOC: LOG:

[North Turnpike, Meadow]

The grey bulk of a monastery rises to the south, an obvious landmark on the route. Cultivated fields surround it to both sides of the road, the checkered browns, yellows, and soft greens of the fields arranged in this landscape with a natural grace that any artist would envy. You also see a sapphire-eyed black panther that is sitting. Also here: Zamidren. Obvious paths: northeast, south. You ponder. You say, "Hello."

You see Zamidren Book, a Human. Zamidren has a round face with frown lines around his mouth, deep-set stormy grey eyes and a straight nose. He has thinning white hair, with dark skin and a stout build. He is average height for a Human. He is mature for a Human. He is in good shape. He is wearing a thin silver jadeite gwethdesuan, some reading spectacles, a twisted horn torque, a worn leather satchel, a hard-sided black leather case, a brown tunic cinched with a golden mesh belt, some course wool leggings and some simple leather sandals.

You say, "You found my panther." Zamidren says, "Good evenin, my daughter." Zamidren says, "And I do believe it found me." Zamidren gazes at a sapphire-eyed black panther. You say, "It's quite possible she did." Zamidren says, "Had I not recognized it for what it was..." Zamidren says, "I might have beat a hasty retreat back to the monastery." You say, "I'm glad your recognized her then." You ask, "You live in the monastary?" Zamidren says, "I do." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Renucci says, "It's all boarded up" Zamidren says, "To those that do not know where to look." Zamidren gives Renucci a slight nod. Renucci says, "I know that feeling" You say, "We've been lookin..." Renucci nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. You ask, "What brings you out this evening?" Zamidren says, "So the monks mentioned." Zamidren asks, "You, as a matter of fact. How might we be able to help you?" You say, "Oh.." You say, "Well.. I've read your books.." Zamidren says, "We don't often have callers. Beyond those that buy our farmed goods, anyway." You say, "Given the current situation.. was wondering if you had any advice to offer" Zamidren asks, "I see. And as they pertain to our current threat, you wished to question me?" You nod to Zamidren. Renucci says, "Great minds" Zamidren says, "If it is advice you wish... prepare for a great many deaths. And remove our dead as quickly as possible." Zamidren says, "She.." Zamidren frowns. Zamidren says, "Is not a normal foe." You ask, "Have you continued your research since your last publishing?" Zamidren says, "Were it but a mere necromancer, there is much we could do." Zamidren says, "The work is my life." Zamidren gives a slight nod. You nod to Zamidren. You say, "Then I come to ask your help, as well as your advice." You ask, "How to we even hope to stop her?" You say, "do rather" Zamidren says, "We hope, because to not is resignation to her and her kind." Zamidren says, "As to my help, this land will always have it." Zamidren says, "I did not risk life and limb studying the threat to simply let it waltz in and take us unawares." You say, "I'm glad to hear it. Zoluren needs all the help it can get." Renucci asks, "What would you recomend as the best defense?" Zamidren says, "Would that I had a best defense against Lyras." You ask, "what about her Generals?" Zamidren says, "She is like nothing we have seen." Renucci says, "Gaging on what you have seen of her" Zamidren says, "Numbers. At least until we find a weakness we can exploit." Markyn's group just arrived. Markyn says to Totenus, "I hope you find use in it.." Markyn says, "Greetings, travelers." Renucci says, "I was hoping you might know or have figured out some kind of weakness" Zamidren says, "Good evening, my children." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Ignifera smiles. Totenus nods politely to Zamidren. Markyn nods politely. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Hello." Totenus says to Zamidren, "I do not believe we have met." Markyn says, "I trust you all do not mind if we huddle here as well? In these trying times, safety in numbers would seem wise." Zamidren says, "I've not managed to view more than the minor annoyances that flood the monastery grounds as yet." Markyn shivers. Zamidren says, "My pardons. My name is Zamidren." Ignifera raises an eyebrow. Totenus glances at Zamidren. Markyn gets an odd expression on his face. Totenus asks, "Zamidren Book?" Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Ignifera Dane, a pleasure to meet you." Zamidren says, "That is correct." Totenus says, "I see." Markyn says to Zamidren, "Markyn. Markyn Le'trana, descended from Esouvar Le'trana." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Your writings proceed you, sir." Zamidren says, "Let us hope they managed to help us, as well." Zamidren nods to Ignifera. Ignifera says, "Indeed." Markyn says, "We did not mean to... interrupt.. prior conversation.." Markyn asks Renucci, "I caught word of weaknesses of sorts? I trust you are not ill?" Zamidren says, "We had just begun our chat. I was going to ask the young lady to escort me through the various battle fronts in Zoluren." You say, "Oh.. sorry. I'm Cyiarriah." You smile at Zamidren. You say, "This is Renucci" Renucci bows to Zamidren. Totenus says, "Totenus Tanthul." Totenus bows to Zamidren. Renucci says, "We are soo rude" Renucci just nudged you. You blush a bright red color. Markyn runs his fingers through his hair. Zamidren says, "A pleasure to meet you all, I'm quite sure. Even considering the circumstances." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "We take what little pleasantries we can in these days, it is part of what helps us to go forward." Ignifera smiles. Zamidren gives a slight nod. You say, "I'd be more than happy to show you the various clusters of undead." Zamidren asks you, "Which brings us back to hope. Will you escort me to the various fronts, my daughter?" You say, "If you all would like to join us, feel free." Markyn asks you, "Would it be presumptuous to ask if we may attend as well? I have been south for some time, and would like to learn of the nature of the fighting taking place?" Markyn beams at you! What a warm feeling! Markyn says, "Most generous." Ignifera smiles. (Markyn bobs his head gratefully.) Ignifera says, "I was just assessing the fronts myself." Ignifera joins your group. You say, "Currently we have undead on three fronts." Ignifera says, "Company is most useful." Zamidren nods to Ignifera. You nod to Ignifera. Zamidren says, "The one nearest the monastery I'm reasonably familiar with. At least at its northern edge." You say, "The first front is here, at your gates.. " You nod to Zamidren. You say, "The second is out on the NTR, I'll take you there." You say, "There are actually two seperate areas."

(traveling)

You say, "The first is just south of Kaerna" Markyn asks, "These beasts.. they are of low caliber, yes?" Totetus nods to Markyn. Totenus says, "Relatively speaking." You say, "They are.. compared to what Theren and Shard are seeing" You say, "Mutts and peons here" Ignifera says to you, "I just came from Shard, actually. Hard hit this day." You nod to Ignifera. You say, "I saw some through my familiar." Zamidren gazes at a fractured revivified mutt's corpse. Markyn says, "I do so hate to put such creatures down, even if I am told time and time again that they do not belong here." Markyn sighs deeply, looking very depressed. You say, "They are not.. natural.." Markyn says, "I am not one for violence." Ignifera says, "They need death. We need their death."

(Markyn grimaces with apprehension as his sword arm inexplicably moves forward.)

Markyn says, "Oh dear." Zamidren says to Markyn, "She will enjoy taking your soul and forcing you to kill at her whim." Markyn pulls away from you. Totenus grabs Markyn's arm and drags him north with him. You ask, "You alright?" (traveling/casualty)

You say, "If everyone will retreat I'll move on" Ignifera says, "The Halfling is the one who burned much of the village recently." Ignifera says, "The Rakash was doing similar near Shard today." Ignifera frowns.

You say to Markyn, "I apologize for not doing a better job at protecting you" Markyn says to you, "I apologize that I am not quite the combatant that my ancestry would dictate. After Esouvar's triumphs in the Elven-Human war, if you can call it that... well, my line turned to other pursuits." Zamidren says, "I am overly curious as to the origins of the S'Kra subordinate. They are not known to be in the west." Markyn sighs. Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Ignifera says, "I as well." Ignifera says, "He seems the weakest of them." Markyn says, "I had not heard this S'kra's name, only that his snout was marred in some way." Zamidren says, "The newest, most likely." Ignifera says, "Gurglesnout, they call him." You say, "Gurglesnout" Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Zamidren says, "How... uncouth." Markyn frowns. Markyn wipes his nose. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "She has been seen by lunar magic in a foul pit of corpses near her warcamp." Zamidren frowns. Ignifera says, "It is likely that he will not be the newest for terribly long." Zamidren asks, "Was the area clearly scryed?" Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Ignifera says, "As much as can be with any of the warcamp, yes." Zamidren says, "So she has settled in long enough to create her work area." Zamidren frowns. Markyn shudders. Ignifera says, "Much more clearly than my memories would like descriptions of, though the detail will hopefully prove some use." Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Zamidren says, "This bodes ill for us on most counts." Totenus asks, "Does this mean that other sorts of constructs will be seen?" Ignifera says, "Tools and an altar of some sort were there as well. It did appear to be some sort of work area." Zamidren says, "Though, the fact that she feels comfortable in her current position may leave us openings." You ponder. Ignifera says, "The location of the camp has proven difficult to pin down." High overhead you hear the cry of a hawk. Looking up you spot the kestrel outlined against the sky, its wings outstretched as it floats on the wind. Zamidren gazes up at the sky. Ignifera says, "And she's been bragging about her superiority whenever encountered outside of it." Ignifera says, "I should think she considers herself quite safe in her plans at this time." Markyn says, "If she still had a soul, it would be one of a braggart." Markyn frowns. You nod in agreement. Zamidren says, "The bane of every necromancer." You say, "I don't think she fears much at this point. If anything." You ask, "Shall we continue north?" You say, "I'll move faster through this next area." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Renucci says to you, "your the guide"

(travel)

Ignifera asks Zamidren, "Do you have any idea why her minions seem to be searching Dunshade Manor regularly?" Zamidren furrows his brow. Zamidren says, "The manor has a sordid history." You say, "Its just up ahead" You gaze off to the north. Zamidren says, "Perhaps they expect to find some artifact of grand power." You point at a mange-covered rotting Rakash. Ignifera says, "The Rakash especially. When she searches that place, she moves differently than when seen in other areas. Like a puppet on a string." Zamidren says, "Or perhaps she just wishes to bring back the Lord Dunshade. Marching him into battle against his own people." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "There are times when the Rakash seems to have control over herself and others when she does not." Zamidren says, "Her fall would have given her exceptional control over the dead." Ignifera says, "When dead, she begs for final release." Zamidren nods. Ignifera says, "She is the only one I've heard this of." Totenus says, "Yes, Tachid certainly seems singular in motive." Totenus rubs his head. Zamidren says, "So she seems to be what she might have once been after 'falling'." Ignifera says, "The other generals seem quite content with their lot." Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Ignifera says, "Indeed." Zamidren furrows his brow. Ignifera says, "There are rumors that she was important to the Rakash people, I believe the name I've heard was Sharlir, while living." Zamidren raises an eyebrow. Ignifera says, "But she's not responded to the name." Zamidren asks, "Was this confirmed?" Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Not as of yet, no." Ignifera says, "I am trying to coordinate this at a time when she is dead." Ignifera says, "Since she seems to be free to an extent when such." Ignifera says, "All mention of the name has been ignored while she is animate." Ignifera frowns. Markyn asks, "Perhaps a cleric could attempt to.. bind her soul in place?" Zamidren says, "These lapses..." Zamidren says, "They bode well for us, in a way." Markyn asks, "If she reverts back when dead, that may indicate that she still has a soul?" Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Markyn smiles nervously. Ignifera says to Markyn, "We can hope." Zamidren says, "It indicates that these generals are not liches themselves, but rather creations of Lyras. Made too well, perhaps." You ponder. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Tachid has called himself a Risen, whatever that means." Zamidren nods to Ignifera. Zamidren says, "A creation of the Necromancer." Markyn nibbles his lip thoughtfully. Ignifera says, "They way he spoke it seemed to carry some meaning... oh." Ignifera nods. A chill enters the area as a mange-covered rotting Rakash comes into view. Markyn moves into a position to dodge. You gesture at a mange-covered rotting Rakash. The mana you were holding contributes to the spell. A bolt of bluish lightning blazes out of the sky toward a mange-covered rotting Rakash! The lightning bolt strikes a mange-covered rotting Rakash in the head, shorting out the brain and granting it a quick and merciful death. Roundtime: 2 seconds. A mange-covered rotting Rakash slumps over, uttering a final gasping moan. Markyn gazes at you in awe. You shift your weight. Zamidren says, "They can, if necromancer is powerful enough, contain the persona of that which they were created from." Ignifera asks Zamidren, "The hopefulness in this is that they would be weaker as creations than if they were liches themselves, yes?" Zamidren gives a slight nod. Zamidren says, "And that they can be potentially unpredictable." Totenus asks, "Is it possible that her control of them could be disrupted?" Ignifera ponders. Zamidren says, "Breaking the underlying link? That I am unaware of." Zamidren says, "However... if the creation contains too much of the previous life, and if that persona were 'good'...." prep lb Totenus nods to Zamidren. Zamidren says, "That would logically be where our advantage lies with the Rakash." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "That has been a theory since we saw her reactions when dead." You search the rotting Prydaen. The Prydaen was carrying a thin gold wedding band, 6 copper coins, and 9 bronze coins! You tap a thin gold wedding band on the ground. Ignifera frowns. Zamidren picks up a thin gold wedding band. Zamidren gazes at his band. Markyn furrows his brow. Ignifera raises an eyebrow. You say, "Pieces of their former lives I assume..." You sigh. Markyn says, "Incinerate it and return it to the Wheel." Zamidren kneels down. Markyn looks at Zamidren and sighs. Zamidren carefully digs a small hole in the ground. With a quiet word, he buries the wedding band, covering it with loose dirt. Zamidren stands up.

(Markyn touches his fingers to his lips solemnly.)

Zamidren says, "The wheel I cannot speak to, but removing it from the view of looters is something I can control." Markyn gives a gracious nod. Ignifera says, "But I admit my knowledge of Prydaen and Rakash spirituality is spotty and secondhand." Zamidren asks, "What are the conditions of these 'generals'?" Ignifera says to Zamidren, "It varies." Ignifera says, "The Rakash woman is in poor condition." Markyn says, "Mine as well. It was meant as more of a sentimental gesture." Ignifera says, "The others seem much better preserved." Totenus says, "Tachid is quite intact." Totenus says, "The others I haven't seen." Ignifera says to Totenus, "More than intact, considering the tail." Totenus snickers. Zamidren raises an eyebrow. Totenus says, "He appears to have a grafted tail." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "A vestigial tail seems to have been attached." Zamidren says, "I thought that this 'Gurglesnou..." You say, "Apparently Gurglesnout did it" Zamidren says, "I see." Zamidren furrows his brow. Ignifera says, "The S'kra appeared in well preserved condition from the reports I had gathered as well." Zamidren nods. Ignifera says, "But no odd additions." Ignifera says, "Lyras herself has at least one, a third arm that she hides within her cloak." You shudder. Ignifera nods to you. Zamidren says, "Grafting..." Zamidren frowns. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "I had the misfortune of walking into her the first she was seen out of her warcamp." Ignifera frowns. You say, "I have not seen her personally yet." Zamidren says, "Something I think we can all wish for." Zamidren nods to you. You nod at Zamidren, in complete agreement with his views. Ignifera says, "The zombies killed me first, but she killed my wife with the extra arm." Ignifera says, "It was vile." Markyn cringes. Renucci says, "I like to meet her...Maybe kiss her" Renucci chuckles. You gaze at Renucci. Renucci shrugs. Markyn looks thoughtfully at Renucci. Renucci says, "I know I'm sick" Renucci grins like an idiot. Zamidren says to Renucci, "It'll likely be the last thing your mortal lips touch. Ever." You glance with concern at Renucci. Renucci nods at Zamidren, obviously agreeing with his views. Ignifera says to Renucci, "Your sense of humor is one only allowed to someone who has not seen her up close, I assure you." Markyn says to Renucci, "I'm sorry, I was just imagining what you'd look like with your flesh half rotted and advancing me, like all the others." Zamidren asks, "There is a third front, no?" Zamidren raises an eyebrow. You nod to Zamidren. Renucci says, "I interestingly watched recently the uglyness before night fall.. I agree it was not nice" You say, "It's just north of Leth, on the STR" Zamidren asks, "How far north?" Zamidren raises an eyebrow. You say, "Not far from the Leth gate." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Very close. They've been in the town several times." Zamidren says, "Closer to the road to Ilaya Taipa rather than the Solace, then." Zamidren ponders. You ponder. You say, "No" Ignifera says, "They almost seem to be stalling, drawing us out. Playing with us, perhaps." You say, "Well, I suppose its closer." You say, "Not by much though." Markyn says, "Could the stall have something to do with the Rakash's search of the Manor to the north? I fear I have not let that detail go just yet." Ignifera says to Markyn, "I really don't know, but it seems as good a theory as any, currently." Zamidren says, "A good thing to consider." Zamidren nods to Markyn. You ask, "Did you want to travel there?" Zamidren says, "A rundown of that area, perhaps, will be sufficient." Zamidren says, "Zoluren seems to be faring a bit better than her neighbors." You say, "There are bone warriors and horrors down there." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "We rather have so far, yes." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "You've heard of the temple's defenses, I'm sure." Zamidren says, "The High Priestess is one of the reasons I've made myself available." Ignifera nods. Zamidren says, "I intend to offer her my help in her hunt." Markyn asks, "She contacted you, then?" Markyn asks, "Or this is of your own volition?" Zamidren says, "Not as yet." Renucci says, "I fear there is a hole in the defenses though" Zamidren says, "It is the duty of every living being to offer what help they can." Ignifera says to Zamidren, "Only too true." Zamidren says, "I just hope I am not too late." Zamidren frowns. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "I hope that of us all." A fierce blue-white glare forces you to avert your eyes for a moment. When it subsides, a blue Moongate stands before you, rippling slightly. Markyn asks Renucci, "What hole in the defenses do you speak of?"

peer moonYou peer through the Moongate... [High Priestess' Sanctuary, The Beacon] At the center of the dome's surface is a thick metallic spire that rises into the sky, the conjunction of the paths from the edges of the roof and the focus of the three watchtowers. It is to here, in times of trouble, that the greatest defenses of the temple -- and the city -- are summoned. The silvery surface of the beacon is cool to the touch, even on the sunniest of days. You also see a blue moonbeam, a pale blue moonbeam and the Crossing temple's beacon. Renucci says, "And now the Hole is open" Renucci says, "Anyone could walk right in" Ignifera says to Renucci, "The becon." Markyn says, "You make a valid point." You nod in agreement. Zamidren says, "Perhaps." Markyn says, "I heard word that Lyras was sighted with arisen magus' in the very beginning." Ignifera says, "I have a difficult time thinking that Tallis, of all persons, has not taken that into account." Zamidren nods to Ignifera. You say, "Perhaps there is something in the shield that would detect them" Renucci says, "I pray to Meraud that Tallis took that into account" War Chief Ternith just went north. Ignifera says, "There are so many." Zamidren sighs. Markyn says, "And my name is upon all their lips." Markyn's skin turns a pasty shade. Zamidren says, "The Prydaen Elders inadverdantly gave her entirely too much time and freedom." Renucci nods at Zamidren, obviously agreeing with his views. Zamidren says, "Were it not for the Barrier, we might have been able to get to her before she had an endless supply of forces." Totenus nods. Renucci nods at Zamidren, obviously agreeing with his views. Ignifera says, "Entirely true." Totenus says, "They certainly do seem endless." Ignifera nods to Totenus. You say, "For everyone you kill, there's another that takes its place" Mageling Vynsant just went south. Zamidren says, "She spent a great many years in the westlands." You nod in agreement. Totenus says, "I've killed many, many, but to no demonstrable effect." Markyn says, "For every one of ours that falls... another potential candidate to rise up in her army." Zamidren says, "Time. Time to grow her forces, and time to perfect her skills." Renucci says, "The later is a biger threat I fear" Zamidren gives Renucci a slight nod. Zamidren kicks his foot at a faenrae reaver. The foot lands a massive strike that sends black pus gushing from the hip as the right leg breaks free! The faenrae reaver lets loose an ear-shattering scream and lies still. A faenrae reaver's items vanish in a haze of blue lightning. Markyn says to Zamidren, "The pen is not mightier than the foot, on this day." Zamidren gazes at some simple leather sandals. Zamidren frowns. Zamidren says, "It would not have been prudent of me to neglect my martial training." Markyn says, "I fear I did not have your foresight." You ask, "Shall we move to a safer location?" Renucci says to Markyn, "Nor did I" Markyn says, "I must apologize..." Zamidren says, "I've spent far too much time in the proverbial bowels of their dens." Markyn says, "But I fear I must journey onward. There are tomes that I must impress into my brain." Markyn says, "A pleasure, all of you." Ignifera smiles. Zamidren says, "Were it not for my training, and Dwarath..." Zamidren gives Markyn a slight nod. Ignifera says to Markyn, "Do try to be careful." Zamidren says, "Good evening, my son." Markyn bows. You smile at Markyn. You say, "Pleasure to meet you." Zamidren says, "Be fleet of foot." Markyn says, "Always." Renucci says to Zamidren, "you might show me a trick of the trade one day" Zamidren says to Renucci, "Pull foot back. Swing foot forward. Repeat as needed." You chuckle. Ignifera says to Renucci, "Hit target with foot. " Renucci grins. Zamidren says, "That generally helps, as well." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Totenus asks Zamidren, "Do you plan on studying the more advanced undead in the southern provinces?" Zamidren says, "I fear it most likely a prudent course of action." Totenus nods. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "The variety in that region is much more than here, by far." Totenus says, "I'm sure that a retinue can be arranged, if that would enable you closer scrutiny." You say, "and more dangerous." Zamidren says, "It seems I'll be doing a good bit of traveling in the coming weeks." Totenus says, "I'm sure that the rest of the Flying Company would be happy to use their skills to ensure you have the opporunity to make a full appraisal of her forces." Zamidren sighs. Zamidren says, "As much as I knew these days would arrive..." Totenus says, "There are some rather interesting individuals in the south." Totenus says, "Contructs themselves, by Xerasyth's hand." Ignifera nods to Totenus. Totenus says, "Though of a much different sort." Zamidren asks, "Xerasyth?" Totenus says, "They seem innately attuned to the energies of Lyras." Ignifera says, "They rather predicted Lyras's coming, in their own way." Ignifera nods to Totenus. Totenus nods to Ignifera. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "An Adan'f necromancer." Ignifera says, "Well, formally Adan'f, now." Ignifera ponders. Zamidren raises an eyebrow. Totenus says, "Yes. The lich is now free to roam the lands, in the body of a S'kra." Zamidren says, "Yet another lich." Zamidren frowns. Totenus says, "Though he has not been seen of late." Ignifera says, "I really don't know what else I'd call him." You say, "Last he was seen, from what I know.. he was in Zoluren." Ignifera nods to you. Totenus says, "He, too, sensed her draw near." Renucci shudders. Renucci says to you, "You didn't tell me that" You say, "Consider yourself told." You ask, "Want me to kill it or no?" Totenus says, "I wonder if all necromancers can perceive her in some fashion."

You glance at a mange-covered rotting Prydaen. Zamidren moves over to guard Renucci. The rotting Prydaen closes to pole weapon range on Renucci. Renucci grins at Zamidren. Zamidren protects Renucci from being engaged. The rotting Prydaen closes to melee range on Zamidren. A mange-covered rotting Prydaen claws at Zamidren. Zamidren slices his fist at a mange-covered rotting Prydaen. The fist lands an earth-shaking strike that detonates its chest into a shower of rotting flesh and squirming yellow maggots! A mange-covered rotting Prydaen slumps over, uttering a final gasping moan. Renucci blinks. Zamidren gazes at a mange-covered rotting Prydaen's corpse. Zamidren sighs. Zamidren kneels down. Renucci says, "I have soo much to learn" Ignifera says, "He would claim to feel the pull of what his people call The Shadow. They sensed Lyras herself by the feeling of her hunger." Renucci grins. Zamidren carefully pokes around the inside of the corpse. You blanch. Ignifera says, "Shadow, or Darkness, really." Ignifera ponders. Ignifera says, "I heard some of them refer to it as either." Zamidren stands up. Renucci nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Totenus nods to Ignifera. Ignifera says, "They're fairly mad, though, most of them." Zamidren bends over and scrubs his hands in a handful of mud. Zamidren asks, "The A'danf are constructs themselves, no?" Zamidren moves over to guard Ignifera. Ignifera says, "Yes, of the Dragon Priests." Ignifera retreats from combat. Totenus nods. Zamidren says, "I fear I don't know overly much of them." A mange-covered rotting Prydaen slumps over, uttering a final gasping moan. Renucci grins at Zamidren. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "This seems very distasteful for you." Zamidren says, "They did not ask to be the servants of a maniac." Ignifera asks, "Would it be better if we moved away from the frontlines for now?" Ignifera nods to Zamidren. Zamidren says, "My work is not about destroying what should have never been." Renucci nods to Zamidren. Ignifera says, "I'm afraid we are all rather placed in that position at the moment, however." Ignifera frowns. Zamidren says, "And yes, if you would be so kind. Let us move further south. It is nearly time for me to retire."

(traveling)

[North Turnpike, Farmland] Totenus says to Zamidren, "Perhaps you and I could speak further about tentative travel arrangements to Ilithi when it is convenient." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Zamidren says, "And thank you, my children. This has been quite informative." Totenus says, "The enemy is considerably stronger there, but it can be managed." Ignifera smiles softly. You smile at Zamidren. Zamidren says, "And thus we end on hope." Zamidren nods to Totenus. You say, "Thank you for taking the time to talk with us." You nod to Zamidren. Ignifera says to Zamidren, "You are welcome. We will need knowledge from all sources to finish this. It is best it be shared." Totenus says, "I wish you good fortunate in your studies. We certainly need your expertise." Zamidren says, "And safety to you all. Be fleet of foot." Zamidren gives a slight nod. Zamidren whistles a few warbling notes. A moment later, the arched doorway slowly swings open. Zamidren hastily steps through as the door swings closed with a solid thunk.
