So, here is some information about how this works. This is live in Plat and Prime and will show up in TF shortly.

Various mechanical parts can be found in the treasure system on any creature that normally drops items. Any of the LOOT options will still allow parts to be found, with the following exceptions:

  • LOOT BOXES (although the parts still have a chance to spawn in the boxes themselves)
  • LOOT EQUIPMENT

Again - You will NOT find mechanical parts using these two options!

You can ASK the Workman about PARTS and he'll tell you what he's looking for and then you can ASK him about the specific parts by name and he'll tell you more details about them, as well as how many tickets he'll pay out for turning one in.

The parts can be turned in to any gnome workman (GIVE (item) to Workman). Currently, there's a workman at the crash site which is accessible via the moth; however, Captain Kurmin was rumored to be dispatching more workman to various areas of the realms.

When you turn the part(s) in, you'll be "given" a number of tickets. (You don't actually get tickets, so you don't have to keep track of the physical items themselves). These tickets will be used at the festival to purchase various things, sort of like how you can buy things at Dave & Busters or other game rooms with tickets. You can currently ASK the WORKMAN about TICKETS and see how many you have, but have also added a TICKET verb so you can check for yourself at any time.

The first person to turn in each type of part gets a few bonus tickets!

Premium subscribers also get a few extra tickets for any part turned in.

You will also be able to win/earn tickets at the Festival in various games.

Rumor has it that there may also be blueprints for making parts that could show up via some unknown source, but this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Here's the big feature: Tickets don't go away, so even if you can't go to Hollow Eve this year, you can still earn tickets and use them whenever you do decide to go. This means that everyone can (and should!) still participate in collecting tickets, whether you're coming to HE '11 or not.

Note: Tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE and are tracked on a per character basis, but once you buy something with them, you can do anything you want with it (as long as the item isn't bonded, of course).

Let us know if you have any other questions. We'll try to answer them, assuming we can/should. ;)
