Modern Empathy has a pretty good history, and we know that the First Empaths are associated with the Imperial era. Let's call it 1,500 years ago for simplicity. Maybe they're older, but that's the oldest known reference. Modern Necromancy goes at least as far back at Sidhlot, who is... let's call it at minimum 3,400 years old.
