Yeah, the bonus techniques are really just a nod to the pre-existing Guild lore. In some cases they can be amazing and in other cases they are just ho-hum. Generally speaking, the guild perk techniques provide more of a benefit to younger crafters as you'll open up new crafting options and enhancements earlier, and those could help you train more efficiently.

The only crafting discipline I can share some info on right now is Blacksmithing, since it is so very far along. This is the current plan (but it could change!)

Basic Metal Smelting (Making Ingots from Common Raw Metal)
```\__ Proficient Metal Refining (Improving the quality of metal ingots)
`````````\__ Expert Metal Reclaimation (Melting down existing items to recover materials)
```````````````\__ Master Metallurgy (Faster Smelting)
```\__ Rare Metal Smelting (Making Ingots from Rare Raw Metal)
`````````\__ Magic Metal Smelting (Making Ingots from Magic Raw Metal)
```\__ Basic Tool Repair (Makes repairing tools easier and more worthwhile)
`````````\__ Advanced Tool Repair (Adds an effect that prevents tool damage for several hours)
```````````````\__ Tool Tempering (An enhancement that increases crafted tool durability)

Basic Forging Tool Design
```\__ Proficient Forging Tool Design
`````````\__ Expert Tool Design * (Combination Tools)
```````````````\__ Master Tool Design * (Tool Weapons and more Combination Tools)
Basic Engineering Tool Design
```\__ Proficient Engineering Tool Design
`````````\__ Expert Tool Design * (Combination Tools)
```````````````\__ Master Tool Design * (Tool Weapons and more Combination Tools)

Basic Outfitting Tool Design
```\__ Proficient Outfitting Tool Design
`````````\__ Expert Tool Design * (Combination Tools)
```````````````\__ Master Tool Design * (Tool Weapons and more Combination Tools)
Basic Alchemy Tool Design
```\__ Proficient Alchemy Tool Design
`````````\__ Expert Tool Design * (Combination Tools)
```````````````\__ Master Tool Design * (Tool Weapons and more Combination Tools)

Utility Forging (Verby props, jugglies, components for other trade skills)
```\__ Decorative Forging (Wearable items)
```\__ Furniture Forging
```\__ Mount Tack
```\__ Maker's Mark Design

So a few things:

The Expert Tool Design and Master Tool Design are only a single technique each, but have multiple pre-requisites hence they are listed multiple times. Combo tools will reduces the number of tools you need to carry and could become rather sought after.

Not all of these techniques will be ready out of the gate. Mount tack will wait on the mount rewrite and the furniture mechanics I have yet to finish for stone carved goods will be needed here as well. Magic metals are designed in but might not be turned on immediately until enchanting is further along. Enchanting may end up getting some tools as well, so I'm waiting for input on that.

Blacksmithing is rather tool heavy. The goal is to let the tool numbers reach a critical mass, then we can tone down the quality of store-bought tools somewhat. If it become difficult to cap items without using crafted tools, blacksmith goods will become more popular.

Well, that's all the teaser I can give for now! Also, feel free to suggest items and techniques you don't see here.
