>>I'm curious, what's the rationale behind the current policy? Why not just make it GM discretion to provide GM support to non-order events, especially events that have a long, regular history or ad-hoc events related to current story that GMs feel are worth support?

The simple answer is a perception of favoritism. This happens and has happened in the past. Heck it's happening right now in this conversation.

There's no one that understands how much work goes into creating and running an event than the GameMaster team.

Unfortunately,we aren't doing in game announcements because it would require that a GameMaster be around and available for EVERY event, and that's something we just can not promise.

We're telling you what we can do so that it's fair and transparent. These are things we can do for you.

1) You can get a news article on the Simu/Google news calendar.

2) You can get an IG news mention in News 4 8 if you can get your information to us before the end of the prior month.

3) Your group can get their own folder over in the Non-official group area where you can recruit and advertise. You can also advertise here in the appropriate folder about your event.

If you are holding a calendared event and would like to arrange for a Mentor to drop a food table and there is a mentor available to help you, that's great! Same would go for one of the Order members.

If you're hiring one of the Orders to run an event with you, the Order players are the ones that you're working with, not the Game Masters. They have an established guideline they must work with for anything they are able to do. Anyone hiring an Order must also work within that guideline.

We understand that the established rules can lead to some players being disappointed because they want other things, but they are there to be fair to everyone.
