You did not start in the room with the shard, but one step removed from it. It just happened in this case that the wrong direction moved you where you wanted to go (wrong directions that don't result in an Expanse move you a step closer to the shard). >>I suppose that's more the point of my confusion, your explanation would indicate both that they "add up" even if you fix your error, and that I got nailed for two steps. You didn't fix the error, you compounded it. You're in a room with valid exits SE and W. You went east. Error 1. You're now in a different room, with the valid entrance probably being E (unless the corridor shifted). You went west. Error 2. -Armifer
