| Happy Friday!
This week, we take a stab at (semi?) organized PvP. Coordinator Dolaz has taken up residence outside the Crossing Cemetery gate. He will help organize two teams of at least 3 players each (not more than 25 each) who want to engage with a battleground-like experience. For the initial release (now, but it may change even tonight!), there is a red banner in the center of the cemetery. When Dolaz starts the competition, that is the objective. Every few seconds is a 'tick' of the game, and the team with the most living members at the control point will shift control of that objective towards their team. If you LOOK at the banner, you can see roughly who controls that point. The control point is a number line from -10 to +10. The central -5 to +5 is a deadzone -- neither team controls the objective or earns points. If you have more members present than the other team and control shifts to your side, THEN you begin earning 1 point for each tick. It's a tug of war, of sorts. Kill your opponents, incapacitate them, distract them, keep them away from the objective so that your team can claim points faster. When you die, you will be dragged within a tick to a holding room. You SHOULD be healed and resurrected with full exp and scrolls. You should NOT be able to depart (if you do, you risk the previous statement). If you clear your title, you are no longer participating -- you cannot earn points for your team, you no longer get death protections, no longer eligible for payouts. Initially, the match lasts 5 minutes. We can tweak this and other settings -- the cost, the number of objectives, team sizes, etc. The winning team splits the entry fees, minus the 15% cut the NPC keeps for organizing. If there's a draw, it's split among both teams. You can ASK DOLAZ ABOUT LEADERBOARD for a history of winners. More than that, we'll figure out as we go! Good luck to the first participants! Thanks to Paklin for the QC! | |
