Howdy there.

Carving tools slowly, slowly - slowly - take damage. They have several orders of magnitude more "hp" than weapons and armor did previously. A single use can inflict damage, but it isn't until the item looks to be "in good condition" that it will start penalizing you to keep using it. I'll take a peek soon to see why its not showing damaged but can be repaired (I suspect a rounding issue due to the massive number of hp things have).

The type of stone can enact a moderate bonus or penalty to crafting an item - which is approximately up/down one difficulty level.

Some mystery code deep in the bowels of the old forging system is correcting javelins. I couldn't figure out when it was firing... so I couldn't fix it. Thanks for letting me know, and I'll take care if it when I get back.

Don't read further if you want to figure out analyze quality ranges for yourself!

Here is a concise list of the quality scale:

masterfully crafted
outstanding
exceptional
superior
finely-crafted
well-crafted
above-average
average
mediocre
below-average
very poorly
dismal
riddled with mistakes and practically useless

Hope that helps a bit!
