Low level ranks, EXP, and you! · on 7/11/2008 8:58:48 AM 280
I've just released an exciting new change that while mostly meant to be newbie friendly, will likely have positive implications for just about everyone!

For those of you who are not familiar, EXP drain in Dragonrealms is based off of an 8 rank cycle. Primary skills get to use all 8 of the cycle, Secondary skills 4 ranks of the cycle, and Tertiary skills only 2.

What this means is that when you are 8 ranks away from your goal (the next 'anti-wall') you pulse down the most per pulse. Each rank you take closer to the goal, you pulse less of your total pool.

Now, after all of this explanation.. the announcement is this.

For the first 20 ranks of every skill, you will receive wall cycles as if you were Primary in that skill. Every 20 ranks thereafter you will lose 1 part of the 8 cycle until you are at the level you would normally be for your class, at which point you will stay there. This means, effectively, that you will pulse at secondary rates or better in every skill until 100 ranks.

Note: This DOES NOT affect pool size, simply wall cycles.

You will want to EXP FIXWALL as soon as you get in game to set this up for your character, otherwise you will be missing out on some of the benefit.

This is live in all instances now.
