Howdy everyone. Leather armor is now available for crafting. You should not notice a huge change in terms of capped stats for things like gargoyle, firecat, bison, azure-scaled or storm bull leathers (kind of the anchors of the system). Some variations in density could result in some stats going higher or lower, but overall they are pretty comparable to the old system in terms of total stats.

Elemental resistances will be a bit lower with this change. Old leather had elemental resistances much higher than intended, but rare materials will help make up for this deficit once available.

The new system does provide for some wider range in weight compared to the old system, and MUCH higher capped accessory stats in most cases. Leather armor is also a bit ligher than it was previously. I could never understand why leather armor often outweighed even plate :/

Armor value could take a few days to get ironed out. Skin values are ridiculously high compared to other material types... so it may not be possible for work orders to be profitable compared to just selling the skins just yet. I'm not really sure how to handle this without making leather armor much more valuable than other armor types, reducing the value of skins or increasing the number of yards of leather obtained per skin and increasing the time/effort spent tanning them.

Anyhow, please don't freak out and blow a vessel if something looks off. I'll be poking my head in throughout the next week to ensure everything goes smoothly.
