It's always possible to increase things, it's just a matter of how high we want to do that. Our absolute technical maximum is somewhere just above 2000, but before we even think of increasing the skill cap beyond 1750, we need to build robust content that makes all 1750 of those ranks feel worthwhile. Right now we have a bare fraction of that.

The future is a very interesting thing to think about. Any plans we have for long-term future will undoubtedly be tempered and modified by the sheer unpredictable nature of people, trends, etc. Right now, our big plans are "We just staked out the bounds of this here town, let's settle it and make it our own". Sorry, I've been watching a lot of Deadwood and I'm more than a little punchy after spending all day futzing with experience code.
