Nobody should ever expect a session of that length to occur, let alone for them to be normal.

I know that people do, and this is why I repeatedly have posted to try to temper expectations like that which have built up over the years. Those sorts of sessions are not the norm, and they are not sustainable. GMs have gotten literally physically ill because of doing them. GMs have gotten extremely burnt out in part due to doing them, the pressure from players to do them, and player expectations of them occurring regularly at festivals.

We have a couple of folks who are still inclined to pull these off from time to time, but please understand that this is not a practice that can or will continue with anything near the regularity that players would like to see. I know they are awesome, but they just are not something that can realistically happen as a normative thing.

We are continuing, and will continue to do as many alterations of as many types as we can during fests, and especially pay fests, but alterations are not guaranteed. We just can't make that kind of promise, so we don't. It's not one we are physically able to keep.
