This is correct. It's as much to make it easy for you guys as it is to make it easy for us. Honestly, we want it to be relatively interesting, but the gathering system is really not the point, so we don't want to dwell too much. Also, even for barbarians, the gathering of sigils will not require killing anything. Enchanting will be entirely divorced from combat, with the exception of those who are inclined to practice gathering or enchanting in hunting areas.

As an example of how a Barbarian might derive meaning from surroundings, consider the kinds of things a Barbarian would look for in an area. Subtle details of potential ambushes, vantage points, fighting spaces, and escape venues would be clear to the trained eye of a fighter, but meaningless to others. It is in the complex interaction of these ever-changing conditions that patterns of sufficient depth can be found to access sigil mechanics. However, conditions change daily, and a particular area isn't guaranteed to yield the same insights the next time you visit. Similarly, a student of another guild would probably find entirely different meaning in that space, be it through observing the eddies of elemental mana, listening to the interplay of disparate noises in the background, or studying the movement of civilization.
