In the hallways of the Arachnid
Soft whispering voices and rustling fabric accompanies the footsteps of many as they converge just outside the Auction Hall. Glancing up alertly, the remaining junior inspector lets out a scream, throwing his arm up to point out a masked man standing just behind Rext.
As Rext turns, drawing forth a tiny dagger as he does, the scream is abruptly punctuated by a wet gurgle and a soft thump. Rext spins again, looking for his inspector, only to find an empty hallway and a pool of blood that seems to be coming from the shadows. Cussing softly to himself, he brandishes his dagger and plunges into the shadow, slashing about. "Fiends!" he yells just before a solid something connects with the side of his head with a decidedly dull THUNK.
A soft, mocking laughter echoes around the halls as Rext disappears into the shadows.
In the Alcove
Standing over his latest patient, Beezell works methodically, quickly creating the incisions needed to begin the latest request. Paying no mind to the small body on the table, a masked man steps from the shadows and says, "We were drawn too close to. It's time to conclude the work."
Looking sharply at the man, the Elothean nods and says, "There is one more only that my table waits for. We remain untethered?" The man nods to the surgeon in reply.
Turning back to his table, Beezell smoothly slices his scalpel along the motionless body of Rext, peeling back the skin and making adjustments to bone structure as he cuts away sinew and muscle. Beating slowly, exposed within the small Gnome's chest, the small heart remains a steady deep red.
OOC: The alcove event has reached a conclusion in response to character involvement and response, but that doesn't mean the RP is over!
