"O Memory! thou midway world
'Twixt earth and paradise,
Where things decayed and loved ones lost
In dreamy shadows rise,
And, freed from all that's earthly vile,
Seem hallowed, pure, and bright,
Like scenes in some enchanted isle
All bathed in liquid light."

Tucked within the pages of a weathered journal this sketch bears only minute signs of distress and aging.

Captured in a moment of relaxation, an Elven woman reclines beneath a shaded fruit tree. Pale hair crowned with daisies has been pulled back in a loose braid and allowed to fall over one shoulder. A sharply angled face is softened by the smile curving her lips and the mirth reflected in inky black eyes.

Dark skinned, her slender figure is garbed in a softly draped linen shirt with an open collar and fine leather breeches. Held loosely in her lap is a heavy woolen mantle, the masked face of a young raccoon peering out from within its deeply cowled hood. Resting beside her is a pair of trail worn moccasins propped against a well mended leather pack.

"'Tis better to leave the past where it belongs."
