Originally released with Droughtman's Challenge 457.

Naphthacite forms when sand from the trackless Dunes of Despair on the isle of M’riss is set alight with naphtha then smothered in an alchemical draught. The volatile fuel is allowed to burn across the open sand before the liquid potion is poured directly into the flames, arresting combustion at the precise moment when the volume of potion is equal to the volume of remaining fuel. The result is a crystallized residue where heat, fuel, and magic converge into a stable mineral state, preserving the memory of fire without sustaining it.

Common Description

Naphthacite has a pale gold core, smooth and translucent, encircled by a vivid ring of fiery red. Subtle striations and shallow pits ripple across the scorched outer layer, their textured patterns casting hazy shadows against the stone's pallid interior.
