Clan
Mhaeric is a Celestial Elf, although he usually refers to himself as not belonging to a clan if asked. He claims River Elf ancestry, but doesn't feel much kinship with their culture other than feeling comfortable on a boat. He's likely to scoff at suggestions that the sea runs in his blood, although secretly he feels a yearning for the open water when he's away from it for any length of time.

Mhaeric has pointed ears and crystal blue eyes. His golden brown hair is short and straight, and is worn in a careless, windblown arrangement. He has fair skin and a slender build.
He is a bit over average height for an Elf.
Some ghastly jawless skulls float lazily around his head, glowing with a lustrous sheen against his skin.
He is adult for an Elf.
He has a tattoo of a wren perched upon a fisted gauntlet over a lute of gold on his arm.

He is wearing a visored chain helm, an enveloping cloak of midnight black velvet with a skull-shaped clasp, a black backpack with red trim, some black leather elbow wraps affixed with dagger blades, a crocodile-skin buckler, a roughly braided multicolored bracelet, some jagged rock crystal knuckleguards, some mail gloves, an albredine crystal ring, a white gold ring bearing a diamond skull and onyx crossbones, a polished leather belt with a curving golden scimitar and a gold and blue-enameled oben hanging from it, some rough suede knee wraps affixed with sharpened peccary tusks, some steel-toed footwraps, some slouched black leather boots with gold-inlaid copperleaf clasps and an iron-banded parry stick with brown leather straps.
History
Mhaeric joined the Bard's guild in 365 A.V. when he was 41 years old, inspired by their claims of travel and adventure. In the intervening years he has advanced through the ranks slowly, instead preferring to travel Elanthia and breathe in new experiences where they may come.
Mhaeric was involved in a brief relationship with a Lord Marshal of Therengia, but that turned sour shortly after the Paladin was seen courting the Countess Vanassa at a Zoluren function.[1] Coming to the conclusion that he was nothing more to the Paladin than a toy to be loved and left, Mhaeric turned away in bitterness. Since that affair, Mhaeric has shied away from relationships, unable to bring himself to face the risk of the humiliation of faithlessness again. Despite this, he has not yet closed himself off completely from the possibility of finding love with another man, although he mostly considers it to be a lost hope.
A follower of Murrula, Mhaeric pays homage to Faenella as well. Previous to the scandal surrounding his last relationship, he didn't pay Idon much heed, often scoffing at those who would acknowledge a god of lustful rogues who love and leave. Mhaeric has enough of a sense of humour to appreciate the irony of this, and now offers the occasional prayer to Idon in self-mocking respect. As a student of history and a child of the sea, he also feels some sense of obligation to Eluned.
