[The Strand, Tree-lined Path]
The thickly wooded area surrounding the footpath does an admirable job of ensconcing the area in deep black shadows. Fastened securely to the many trees along the border, glowing gaethzen globes add a touch of manmade art to the natural environment. Noisy crickets chirp their rhythmic tones every now and then to break the night's silence. You also see an ivy-covered fieldstone retreat standing amidst a riotous multitude of sunflowers, an unremarkable cabin, a lavish alder-gabled residence and a capacious willow tree with a squirrel's nest inside a branch's knothole.
Obvious paths: east, west.

[Mendira's Retreat, Sitting Room]
Walls of cobalt blue jaalmin and a polished ironwood floor covered by a deep-fringed white wool carpet enclose this room. In one corner lies a low blue brocade sofa with a wrought iron frame, and near the sofa sits a delicate rosewood tea table topped with an intricate glass mosaic. A carved marble fireplace with a wrought iron grate burns along the far wall with a modest oil painting depicting a flowering field hanging above it. The room holds a very faint scent of roses. You also see a brown and black calico cat, a large garden window with sparkling glass panes, an engraved rosewood chair that is facing the table and an elegant dark ironwood bookcase with glass shelves.
Obvious paths: none.

>look wall
Woven into the warp of the cobalt blue linen are evenly-spaced filaments of shimmering gold, their metallic sheen appearing to almost ripple like quicksilver with the slightest movement. The closely spaced golden threads interact with the background fabric to create the illusion of pinstriping that runs vertically along the surface of the walls. Gold leaf covers the carved cup-and-ball motif on the crown molding, helping to bring out the accents of the metallic fibers in the textile-covered walls.
>look painting
Simply framed in polished silverwood, the rectangular canvas shows a sun-dappled meadow surrounded by misty, green-leafed trees. Dotted with colorful pastel-hued wildflowers, a narrow road curves through the field before disappearing into the shadowy trees beyond. Little butterflies flit amongst the blooms, the colorful insects no more than quick swipes of the artist's brush.
>look tea table
Colorful shards of glass are expertly set into the deep reddish-hued wood to create a lush bouquet of blushing red and cobalt blue etrana flowers across the top of the circular table.
>look on sofa
On the brocade sofa you see a cashmere pillow embroidered with roses, a soft white blanket trimmed with tiny gold tassels and a cashmere pillow embroidered with roses.
>look in bookcase
In the ironwood bookcase you see a miniature willow tree displayed atop a silver-laced granite pedestal, a maple welkin figurine, a collection of historical tomes bound in silver-embossed leather, a collection of artistic studies bound in niveous whitleather, a collection of worn volumes bound in battered black leather, a squat gloamstone basin filled with an assortment of odd stone-like succulents, a collection of leather-bound script anthologies, a tall porcelain vase painted with a cascading waterfall, an ornamental rose tree topiary seated within a lacquered blackwood tray and a group of well-worn songbooks.
>look cat
Brown and black spots swirled together comprise about half the sleek feline's coat, while the rest is a pure white that speaks of a pampered housepet. Pale green-gold eyes stare out from the elegant face, topped with delicate ears.
