This item is used in the Mail system.

This is a consolidated page that describes the mechanics of an item with many cosmetic variations, such as Hollow Eve gifts. Please document functionality, verbs, and other important information here instead of posting it on individual item pages. This ensures that all of the documentation is on one page instead of having it scattered across multiple pages; it also simplifies collaboration.

You may still create/edit individual item pages to add looks and other appraisal data, but please include a link to this page where players can read about how the item works.

Verbs

  • STUDY: The envelope is used with the MAIL system. It can hold up to 1 item(s), provided they otherwise fit based on size and weight. If you have a stamp, you can PUT the stamp on the envelope to determine how fast it will be delivered. You can check MAIL ESTIMATE with items inside to get an idea of the cost of mailing the envelope. If you have wax and an appropriate signet ring, you can PUT the wax on to mark the envelope with your signet. You can also LOOK at the envelope for some information. Packages and envelopes tend to wear out over time -- envelopes after a single use! Until then, though, they can be reused if you'd like.

For more in-depth information on the MAIL system, please review MAIL INFO.
