Bard Recall: The gittern is shaped much in the manner of an elongated teardrop with a flat-faced, curving belly and a long, gently bending fretted neck. A set of twelve strings courses over a short bridge and decorative sound hole to a curving peg-box carved with an elaborate scroll.
