From floor to ceiling, the library is filled with mahogany shelving that carries countless voluminous tomes. A single armchair rests next to a small table atop a fading rug at the center of this octagonal room, facing a door that appears to lead outward. A window set into each wall looks out over fantastical views that appear to be in drastically different places.

A dull grey light illuminates the featureless terrain, forever presented by a drab, neverending sunset that is devoid of bright shades of color. Where the sky and ground meet, haze swirls, obscuring that boundary, its definition apparently only from that pale sun. Above, streaks of oddly-formed clouds run to the horizon, carried by potent and invisible winds, and all around a deadening silence muffles this place's every unidentifiable sound into a soft whisper.

The base of an observatory of epic proportions marks the end of the street. A white circle with a black "X" in the center has been sloppily painted onto the side of the observatory wall. Debris and chunks of masonry from nearby buildings litters the street. While there is no traffic nearby, you can hear cheering coming further down the street. You also see a white door.

Darkness looms in this damp open cavern, staved off only by a few waning torches. Several dark wood benches have been placed tight against the walls and you smile inwardly at the thought of the guild members protecting their backs in this manner. The sound of running water echoing in the distance is the only decoration that marks this subterranean hall.
You also see the Guildleader Kalag the Black and a large notice tacked to the wall.

Secret Cave
[Irenos' Office, Secret Cave]
Trickles of water slowly flow across slick mineral deposits bearing ribbons of visible lime-colored discoloration. The brackish, dank scent of a nearby bog still permeates this area. Lichen coats what limited floor is level here. A cave mouth offers the only light available in the area, revealing a ladder that leads upward to the library.
You also see a Gnomic contraption covered in a nest of copper wiring.

A brass container bearing striking resemblance to a large bathtub has been fitted with a chamber bearing a cambrinth inlay, powering a series of complicated gears with leather belts conjoining them. A large crystal prism is mounted atop the copper chamber. The thrum of the device is modulated by a brass flarmencrank and a glarmencoupler, adjusting the throat of the warblet.

Your foot collides with the brass, and a jolt of pain shoots up your leg as you are certain you have injured your foot. If you had to guess, you do not believe you have had any effect on the operation of the device.

As you tug on the device, the gasket vents a short burst of steam, before re-sealing and emitting a hum. You appear to have successfully adjusted the device.

Noting a pulsing thrumming from the Gnomic contraption, you believe you may need to initiate the entanglement sequence. You attempt to push the flarmencrank to dampen the steam condenser and initiate the sequence. As you maneuver the device, the thrumming steadies. You appear to have been successful.

- A pulsing thrum echoes from the Gnomic contraption. You suspect that the temporal entanglement sequence needs initiation, or temporal cohesion will fail. You believe you can PUSH FLARMENCRANK to initiate the sequence and dampen the steam condenser.
- The Gnomic contraption sputters and falters, the hum becoming a faint choking sound. Apparently out of options, you can only think that you might be able to correct the issue with a KICK.
- The cave chamber echoes with the slow, distant sound of water dripping from mineral deposits.
