Pethian Moon Mage Council member at time of Mirror Wraith Prophecy. Was not harmed at the meeting where Lechsu attacked because he was not present.

Appearance

You see G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein Litrona, a Human.
He has two empty sockets for eyes, thinning silver hair, and dark skin.
He is aged for a Human.
He has a thin sparse mustache on his upper lip and a thin patchy beard.

He has a blind right eye, a blind left eye.

He is wearing a lasmodi gwethdesuan, some simple rope sandals, a dusky-grey satchel branded with geometric shapes, some slightly worn purple robes accessorized with brass-lined stone buttons, a fraying twine belt, a tarnished copper pin shaped like an open eye, a battered leather pouch spottily embroidered with images of burning people, a moonstone gwethdesuan and a deep indigo blindfold.

Hey, thought I'd update everyone and post the visions I got prior to and at the end of the invasion today.

Before, as the warning: Your vision shifts, a swirling vortex of colors and flashing lights filling your view till you again you see yourself standing alone on an empty barren plane of drab greys and shifting shadows. No life can be seen in any direction, and try as you might, you sense no link to the moons above, their eerie light clawing desperately to pierce the darkening veil of blackness filling the sky overhead."

"You glance around, the darkness obscuring any view more than a few feet before you, as you realize suddenly you are no longer standing alone, but surrounded by a myriad concoction of twisting, writhing images cast in shadow, each glowering visage bearing its glowing red eyes heatedly down upon you. Slowly they encircle you, and as the distance dwindles between you and the gathered throng, you feel hope flee before you. Your eyes close slowly, succumbing to the dwindling pulse of life you once held so dear."

Lost in the confines of thought and prediction, Dothrein, former council member and loyal Pethian, sits hunched over an open book, a touch of bewilderment on his face as he studies the air before him. He turns his head, seemingly gazing into your eyes with his own sightless sockets. A shiver causes his frail form to tremble slightly as the future he has foreseen in the webs before him becomes a blur of horror and destruction. A swirling shadow of darkness rises over his shoulder and your vision fades as it obscures him from view.

And while we were fighting in haven, the rooms were FINALLY clear, and we all saw this :

You hear the raspy voice of a shadow master say, "Thisss isss but a tesst, flesssh thingss... When the barrier fallsss yet more, more ssshall we come."

Enjoy! Relles, Rakash Moon Mage

Attached is an edited log of my encounter with Elder Dothrein preceding the invasion of Ker'Leor and Theren. The edited parts include battle with maras (thanks Wildluck) and many shadewatch mirrors (disco moonie). My appologies for my humble interrogatory, I feel bad that there were no pethians with me, for they probably would have had much better discourse with Dothrein... but I tried me best. Viv, Itron, Dianah....where were ye guys???

[Ker'Leor, Laakmir] A hill of glassy black rock tumbles into thick forest, making this a difficult area to traverse. Footing is uncertain along the rocky slope, and an ominous row of thorn bushes threatens to entangle any hapless traveler unlucky enough to tumble from the rocks toward the trees. You also see a chain shirt, some copper coins, an obsidian boulder, a melted obelisk, an obsidian boulder, an obsidian boulder, and some junk. Also here: Moon Mage Wildluck and G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein who is kneeling. Obvious paths: northeast, south.
The refractive field surrounding you fades away.
Dothrein chants some odd phrases in a foreign dialect.
>You say, "Elder Dothrein"
You curtsy to Dothrein.
Wildluck asks, "What can we accomplish here that may help us?"
Dothrein just touched a melted obelisk.
Dothrein says, "To know."
Dothrein says, "The three are broken."
Dothrein says, "The fragment will be found."
Dothrein says, "Such was revealed, but I am confused by the portents."
You ask, "What confuses you?"
You ponder.
Dothrein says, "G'nar Peth, forgive me, for I am one with the sightless ones, if but for a moment."
Dothrein says, "Again. Garden. Answers."
Dothrein chants quietly. Dothrein rubs a sandstone bauble intricately carved with a spiral design.
You ask, "The answers we seek are in the garden? What garden?"
Dothrein chants some odd phrases in a foreign dialect.
Dothrein just touched a melted obelisk.
You get a sudden sensation of utter dread.
Dothrein ponders.
You shudder.
Wildluck says, "The garden that all G'Nar Pethians speak of"
Dothrein says, "That was... incorrect."
You ponder.
Dothrein says, "The Garden reveals the answers to those with the sight."
You say, "ah"
Dothrein says, "You are sightless."
Dothrein chuckles to himself.
Dothrein says, "It is not as wasted as the Grandmaster thinks."
You ponder.
Ludikar blinks.
Dothrein says, "The three fail by some standards."
You fret.
A flicker of shadows pulse through the area.
Dothrein ponders.
Dothrein sighs.
Dothrein stands up.
A flicker of shadows pulse through the area.
You ask, "What do ye see in the boulder?"
Dothrein says, "There is nothing I can do."
Wildluck asks, "So you hope to repair the obelisk?"
Dothrein says, "We would be wise to abandon this place."
You blink.
Dothrein puts his bauble in his leather pouch.
G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein just went northeast.

ne
[Ker'Leor, Laakmir] The sheer concave of the exposed rock shields the eastern edge of the small lake with its pumice-laden crescent. It is all that is left of an ancient volcano, collapsed and filled over a millennium. What looks like a large cave pocks the cresent's surface, accessible by some evenly-spaced handholds. You also see a bronze coin. Also here: G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein. Obvious paths: southwest.
G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein climbed up a large cave.
climb cave [Laakmir, Caves] Soft moonlight filters through the opening of the cave. Shallow, but with a high ceiling, it is pleasantly dry and of comfortable temperature. A dark patch of charred ground indicates that someone has camped here recently. You also see a crumbly niche. Also here: G'nar Pethian Elder Dothrein. Obvious paths: down.
You pant.
Dothrein sighs.
You say, "Is it possible to repair the obelisks" You say, "I am sorry to be so bold" Dothrein says, "Repair? I do not believe so." You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.

* Wildluck was just struck down!

You say, "we have many questions"
You sigh.
You say, "and could use some guidance"
Dothrein takes a seat.
Dothrein slowly says, "'Guidance."
You sit down.
You say, "Ye speak of the fragment being found"
Dothrein says, "Rietyl."

find rietyl
There are no adventurers in the realms that match the names specified.
The usage for this command is: find <player1> <player2> ... <player9> and will provide a list of those players present you wish to find provided they are in the realms.

Dothrein says, "He found, and so shall I, if faith in the portents I have."
Dothrein studies the ground for a moment. You ask, "What do the portents fortell?"

* Lluna was just struck down!

Dothrein gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Dothrein chuckles to himself.
You smile.
A shimmering mirror of shadows appears momentarily in the air above, briefly revealing Amratia's face.
A shimmering mirror of shadows appears momentarily in the air above, briefly revealing Arasia's face.
You say, "You cause much curiousity amongst us students"
You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
Dothrein ponders.
Dothrein says, "The weakness is the flaw."
You say, "You speak of faith in portents"

You get an odd feeling for a moment.

You ask, "Flaw?"

Dothrein touches you.

Dothrein nods.
Dothrein says, "The flaw of life."

* Khafka was just struck down!

Dothrein says, "I am not interested in the entanglements of this web..."
You blink.
Dothrein says, "I seek that fragment, which shall bring me closer."
Dothrein gets a sandstone bauble intricately carved with a spiral design from inside his leather pouch.
You ask, "Closer to perfection? To perfect sight?"
You say, "Escape from the flaw of life" Dothrein rubs a sandstone bauble intricately carved with a spiral design. You ponder. Dothrein smiles cryptically. You ask, "Did ye craft that bauble?" Dothrein says, "This is very old." You ask, "does it connect you to the fates?" Dothrein says, "A bauble, nothing more." You nod. Dothrein shows you a sandstone bauble intricately carved with a spiral design. An unusual stick figure is centered in the spiral. The figure doesn't seem to be a representation of any of the Eleven races, but it is too crude to really be sure. Dothrein says, "A glimpse of what once was, and what shall be." You ask, "A different race? A race of elders?" You ask, "Are they...ummm...coming back?" Dothrein chuckles to himself. Dothrein says, "No, sightless one." Dothrein says, "No race. An elder, yes." You say, "whew" You ask, "Ye are trying to bring this elder into the realms?" Dothrein says, "Pieces are all that remains, like small paintings of a dream." Dothrein says, "I tire." You nod to Dothrein. Dothrein says, "I was unable to see the truth, and I must atone for my failure." You say, "I am sorry for the chatter" Dothrein says, "Only the question that goes unasked is a chatter." You smile. You stand back up. You say, "I shall allow you rest" You say, "Thank you for indulging me" Dothrein says, "Be cautious." Dothrein puts his bauble in his leather pouch. You curtsy to Dothrein. Dothrein raises him arms skyward, chanting. prep rfYou raise your arms skyward, chanting the words of the Refractive Field spell. harn 15You harness 15 mana and attempt to hold it. Roundtime: 3 seconds cast Dothrein seems to be concentrating intently on something. You gesture. The whole world begins to shimmer as a refractive field slowly gathers around you. Dothrein shimmers out of sight. The refractive field gathers around you, completely hiding you from view.

Hmm, very interesting. I recall doing much searching and studying of that entire area during the Mirror Wraith Prophecy, I was so certain then tha' there was some connection to that place... tis a shame our visions aren't as clear as we'd like, the connection was there indeed, justna in the way I thought.

Fragment, eh? Like the one in Grell's chest?? A fragment of the obelisk tha' was in Old Crossing, under our guild... the one tha' exploded in tha' dreadful accident o'er 70 some year ago?? Only fragment I know of... Unless he speaks not of a fragment of the obelisk (the three he says are weak); but of a fragment, or shard of Gra'hzir... :ponder: There are 3 remaining moons as well. The shards of the fourth moon are used fer transportation anchors, such as the way we moon magi can reach Throne City, and Taisgath via moongates by manipulating the devices that utilize the shards. This bears consideration, I suppose. Depending on which he meant; which would mean two very different portents... Next ta see 'im might query 'im more on this matter.

Garden's Vision Update

A blue-spotted crimson moongate suddenly explodes into being, shuddering softly.

Dothrein calmly steps out of the moongate. The moongate collapses in a plume of red and blue.

[Tiger Clan Home, Peddler's Wagon] Every inch of this roomy covered wagon has been used efficently to store an amazing array of trinkets, colorful clothing and carryalls. The peddler Posimur reclines against the back of the wagon half asleep midst a pile of discarded cloth, leather and string. You also see a knapsack and a rickety table with a leather-bound catalog on it. Also here: Dothrein. Obvious exits: out.

Dothrein peers quizzically at you.

You blink.

You bow to Dothrein.

Dothrein chants a few words in a low voice.

A milky-white eye appears out of nothingness, but quickly fades. > Dothrein gets a small purple amethyst from inside his dusky-grey satchel.

You say, "Garden be seen, Brother." > Dothrein offers you a small purple amethyst. Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

You accept Dothrein's offer and are now holding a small purple amethyst. > Dothrein says, "Garden be seen." > look my amethyst

You see nothing unusual.

You ask, "What might this gift be?" > focus my amethyst

You focus your magical senses on a small purple amethyst. The purple amethyst has no discernible magical pattern. Roundtime: 20 seconds.

Dothrein says, "The sapphires of the sightless were unstable."

You ponder. Dothrein says, "This is the true seed of the garden's vision."

Dothrein says, "Remember. The Panther leads, and the Mongoose follows."

A blue-spotted crimson moongate suddenly explodes into being, shuddering softly.

Dothrein calmly glances at the moongate, then steps through.

The moongate collapses in a plume of red and blue.
