Originally released with Droughtman's Challenge 457.
Doomfire malachite is widely rumored to originate within the labyrinthine Kradhren Caverns of Ain Ghazal, where native miners occasionally introduce small quantities of the gem into regional trade. However, no visitor to the island has successfully documented a source deposit or recovered the stone directly from the caverns, leading to widespread skepticism about whether the mineral truly forms there at all.
Common Description
Doomfire malachite displays brilliant bands of iridescent inferno-red layered between jagged ribbons of charcoal-black and smoke-white. The opaque stone is marked by sharp, uneven striations that intersect and diverge throughout its interior, creating dramatic contrasts that become especially pronounced when cut and polished.
