Asketi's Ride can be one of the most deadly invasions, if players are unprepared. There are numerous types of creatures that attack, several of which have deadly special attacks. During the Ride, I recommend you use a Blessed weapon at all times, so you can easily swap between the creatures that are corporeal and those that are not.

Banshee Wail

[08:45:59 PM] The world blurs as a greater North Wind banshee begins a horrid, torturous wailing.

[08:31:59 PM] The world blurs as a lesser North Wind banshee begins a horrid, torturous wailing.

[08:31:59 PM] You endure the call of terror and pain!
  • Spirit damage attack.
  • Soul Shield and Courage protect against this attack.
  • Based on how large your spirit pool is, this can one hit kill you.
  • Larger characters endure this every time. Some sort of SvS contest?
  • On spirit death, you cannot be raised.

Recommendation: Have Cleric cast Soul Shield, have Paladin cast Courage, carry spirit rattles. Set up trigger or highlight to know when to use them.

Banshee Kiss

[10:02:12 PM] With astonishing swiftness, a champion champion banshee floats over to Betlind, pinching one of her cheeks while pressing frosty lips to the other.  Betlind convulses helplessly and wilts at her touch before being tossed aside.

[10:07:05 PM] With astonishing swiftness, a greater North Wind banshee floats over to you, pinching one of your cheeks with paralyzingly cold fingers while pressing even colder lips to the other.  There is so much unearthly power concentrated in her touch that it threatens to snuff out your meager life essence!  She tosses your drained body aside.
  • Knocks you prone.
  • Drains attunement, concentration, and fatigue.
  • Fatigue can force you to keep falling over.

Recommendation: Must be tolerated. Stay aware of your standing/prone status.

Banshee Ice Statue Curse

A lesser North Wind banshee suddenly leaps aloft, eyes dimming to solid night-black orbs and wild hair whipping about her face.  She flies toward you with one outstretched claw!
The North Wind banshee shoves her immaterial hand deeply into your chest, gripping your heart and beginning to squeeze...  Coils of frosty blue mist arise out of your impending blackout like so many fat, voracious snakes.  After what seems like an anlas or two, she releases you and backs away, yet you can still feel her depredation.

A violent bluish glow coruscates about your chest and constricts your heartbeat with an ethereal fist.

[08:13:28 PM] Senthic is outlined by a bluish corona as a frozen statue coalesces beside him.
[08:13:28 PM]  * Senthic was turned into an ice statue!

Your body is outlined by a bluish corona as the Icebound Heart curse erects a frozen statue out of your soul, a cruel monument to your suffering.
  • Attack applies an ongoing Icebound Heart curse to you that continuously deals chest damage.
  • This can be removed with Uncurse.
  • Have heard that Courage helps prevent curse, but does not remove it.
  • On death, if you are afflicted, your soul becomes a frozen statue.
  • Because your soul is no longer with your body, you cannot be raised.

Recommendation: Highlight messaging and find a Cleric for Uncurse immediately.

Baleful Ice Adder Frozen Vapor

[09:12:05 PM] A baleful ice adder's jaws gape wide as it exhales an impossibly large cloud of frozen vapor!  The air temperature plummets noticeably, and your throat and lungs begin to burn from the cold.
[09:12:05 PM] You manage to inhale a breath!
[09:12:05 PM] A lucent sphere flickers in the shadows.
[09:12:05 PM] A brilliant white glow flares around Zynell.
[09:12:05 PM] A lucent sphere enfolds Zynell.
[09:12:05 PM] Woten's ethereal shield crackles with energy.
  • Soul Shield, Ethereal Shield, and Protection from Evil all seem to protect against this attack.
  • Larger characters endure this every time, might be an SvS contest?

Recommendation: Have a cleric cast Soul Shield or Protection from Evil, carry PFE runestones, or an MM to keep Etherial Shield up. Set up highlight to know when PFE has fallen off.

Misty Black Zephyr

[09:10:39 PM] A misty black zephyr laughs wretchedly, Asketi take you all!
[09:10:39 PM] A bitterly frigid gale begins to stir.

[09:11:28 PM] The howling shriek of the frigid wind pierces your ears as it chills your body, swirling furiously throughout the area.
[09:11:28 PM] Your blood chills and your knees weaken.
[09:11:28 PM] A bony wind wretch grows stronger!
[09:11:28 PM] A champion champion banshee grows stronger!
[09:11:28 PM] A bony wind wretch grows stronger!
[09:11:28 PM] A giant adder grows stronger!
[09:11:29 PM] The frigid gale falters and dies.
  • 50 seconds between when the frigid gale is summoned by a zephyr to when it detonates.
  • Detonation buffs every other creature in the room.
  • Also deals stamina and balance damage.

Recommendation: Focus fire the zephyr's down first.

Horned Black Steed

[09:45:50 PM] Deranged eyes suddenly flying wide open, a hideous horned black steed spins around and bucks, kicking out powerfully with its hind legs at Woten.
[09:45:50 PM] One of the hooves wallops Woten to the ground, but he looks unharmed.
[09:45:50 PM] One of the hooves lands a good strike to Woten's left leg!
[09:45:50 PM] The impact sends Woten rolling to the west!

[09:14:55 PM] Deranged eyes suddenly flying wide open, a hideous horned black steed spins around and bucks, kicking out powerfully with its hind legs at you.
[09:14:55 PM] One of the hooves only strikes the air.
[09:14:55 PM] [You're winded, mighty, extremely imbalanced with opponent overwhelming you.]
[09:14:55 PM] One of the hooves wallops you to the ground, but you are unharmed.
[09:14:55 PM] [You're winded, mighty, extremely imbalanced with opponent overwhelming you.]
[09:14:55 PM] The impact sends you rolling to the south!
  • Can deal damage, knock prone, or knock into another room and prone.
  • If the person is leading a group, this breaks the group immediately.

Recommendation: Must be tolerated. Stay aware of standing/prone status, and move back to the group ASAP. If you are the group leader, call for people to rejoin you when you return.
