Ode To Alpo

Eerie made me help her write this.

This is for Chrysagon, bold defender of the Crossing in honor of the beloved Alpo.

Against hordes,
  Of the evil goblin warlords,
Flew the lovely steel grey horse of wars,
      The mighty steed Alpo.
Never running behind, always prancing before.

Into battle,
Against fierce metal did she bravely charge,
    Against wavering shields large.
      Magic flying through dawn skies,
Helping defeat this terrible scourge.

She charged,
This wondrous mare of deadly grace,
Refusing to lose this, her final race.
      Ignoring the steel clashing around,
Striving against the enemies she'd face.

She stood in grace and beauty.

She fought,
Throwing her lot with others as well,
Witness all Alpo's bravery and skill,
With Chrysagon, her ward to protect,
A marvel, awe-inspiring, remembered still.

She flew,
Over four hundred years since Lanival did act,
In the year of the Golden Panther she passed,
      Tossing her mane defiantly,
She defended us all to her last.

Against hordes into battle she charged... she fought... she flew.

Tis true,
Those who knew her miss her lots.
Final joust ended yet still in our thoughts.
      Finishing her race, winning easily,
Amongst the stars now proudly she trots.

Racing back,
  Finding favor among gods,
Struggling mighty against all the odds,
She rejoined to Him a Guardian named Angel,
Returned to Him.. preserving thier bond.
