Log

[Arhat's Tower, Workshop]
Very little is recognizable from the workshop's original contents. The walls are broken off at half their intended height and the area lies open to the elements. The only obvious sign of the room's prior function, odd glowing stains marking the floor, are most likely the result of past experiments gone awry. You also see a stone seat, a coppery saluki puppy flaunting a goldenglow glaes collar and jadeleaf snood, a grey and cream muted tortoiseshell leopard that is sleeping, a grey cat that is sleeping and a worn stone.
Also here: Niliaevat Raesh Isen Malorna who is circled by ephemeral phantom sharks, Valynn, Planar Pilgrim Maintain who is shrouded in ghostly flames, Forest Sprite Lileath who is accompanied by a pair of faintly glowing will-o-wisps, Khozh Elizzibiana who is shadowed by the spectral image of a grey-eyed viper formed of fire and smoke, Telaen Mewawl, Sofina, Dharasadan, Darkling Blackgeist who is darkened by an unnatural shadow, Holy Vengeance Imroth who is shining with a dark golden glow, Numinist Nevali who is sitting, Esotericist Eyst, Stellar Statistician Urbaj, Forgiven Numinor, Black Fox Xionara who is sitting, Veteran Apprentice Anuril who has a fiery visage, Heart Tender Kethrai, Firehawk Casari, Paladin of Eylhaar Arkalye, Zekai, Knight Errant Trajan, Holy Lash Nawain who is shrouded in ghostly flames, Tezirite Luna, Dawnsworn Briaen who is sitting, Cateress Allye who is fringed by a sprinkle of blinking fireflies, Medir, Strawberry Nurse Illiya, Shaylynne who is encircled by ethereal phofe flowers, Fateweaver Taikyna who is darkened by an unnatural shadow, Hunter Hanryu, Mathematician Avrenka, Mageling Aerilia, Fearless Crobin, Knight of Meraud Tirost who is surrounded by seven circling blades of ice, Death's Messenger Buzan who is shining with a dark golden glow, Sublime Mender Kerennya, War Healer Misteeus whose form wavers within a tempestuous storm of blue and grey smoke, Lord Knight Hebion, Desert Dancer Zersha, Ezathiel, Reverent Istercal who is sitting, Ruea and Mountain Lord Ezerak.

Isolating several distillates, the chemist carefully mixes them together in several combinations and pours them into exposed tubes in various odd approaches -- under hissing yellow gas, passing through crackling electricity, dripped along onto thinly sliced sections of pulpy wood, pressed into crystal dust -- and seals them. Placing the tubes on a rack, the chemist observes them for a moment, and is about to get back to work when an odd sound echoes in the distance. The chemist gets up and leaves the laboratory. A solution begins to boil, its pure distillate dripping along several condensers onto the granite table. The pure liquid pools, and begins to glow with a brilliant intensity before exploding violently. The vision fades."

(Mewawl man feeds a short stove with a log, and using a pair of tongs, pushes at something inside a minute, and then steps back and closes the door. Stretching his shoulders, he sits and waits. Rain patters against the walls of his cabin, the midday sun casting rainbows. The man whittles a knob of wood, carving a rough sphere. Standing, he picks up the tongs and opens the stove door, and reaching in, pulls out a glowing star. He turns the star, examining it from every angle, and taps it with a knuckle, listening to the hiss and crackle as it cools. Stepping out into the clear night, he lifts the star into the sky and places it amidst several others. The constellations shift gently, but the man does not stay to watch them settle. The vision fades.)

The stars burn overhead, bright and clear, barely wavering. You hug yourself against the chill, and with a start realize you are not alone. Standing beside you, despite the harsh environment, a woman wrapped in a flowing cloak smoothly lights a cigarillo, the flick of her lighter and subsequent red glow of tobacco briefly illuminating the cataracts of her eyes. She inhales deeply, and without turning to you, simply points up with the lit cigarillo. You look up and see an enormous figure looming in the cosmos, wide stretched hands tearing the sky in half. The woman simply remarks, "Well, that's one way to do it," and the vision fades."

You pummel the face before you, punch after meaty punch landing with satisfying thuds, and you feel bones breaking under your fists, grinding into the hardpacked ground as you continue to drive your fists down, down. Something wraps around your neck and shoulders, pulling you back, and you continue to scream, continue to push forward. After an eternity, your heart slows a bit, and you take stock of the situation. A man lies in the mud, his head missing, and in its place nothing but a smear of bloody brains and splintered bone. Jundara leans on Nevali.

Luna takes a sip of her wine.

Blackgeist turns her gaze to the sky for a few moments.

Avrenka says, "So far."

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Nevali says, "Fists, fingers. Not necessarily claws."

Mewawl asks, "Anhyone seen the chemist one in the past or is it new?"

Object gazes at his claws.

Ezathiel puts his wine in his bone-white lunchbox.

Ezerak takes a bite of the stew.

Ruea asks, "What do we think Miskton would make of these?"

Imroth says, "I haven't heard the chemist one before."

Luna takes a sip of her wine.

Kethrai says, "The chemist... Feels a bit like Liraxes."

Ezathiel strolls down.

Mewawl says, "You see a chemist working over a bench, twisting tubes of clear glass and nudging several glowing liquids in hot sand baths, ensuring an even boil. The vision fades. >."

Avrenka says, "Cigarillo woman, man making a star, punching someone to death, chemist, and vine plant, that's 5."

Ruea asks Kethrai, "Could you walk me through that?"

Avrenka nods to Kethrai.

Avrenka says to Kethrai, "I had a similar thought."

Ruea asks, "Five visions, five messengers, so they may line up?"

Istercal hugs Jundara, who wraps her arms around Istercal with a warm smile.

Istercal hugs Nevali, getting a smile in return.

Istercal stands up.

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Xionara frowns.

Kethrai says to Ruea, "The description of this laboratory feels a bit like the innards of Liraxes' machine."

Nevali waves to Istercal.

Istercal sweeps a lumium sallet off his head and in front of him in a large arc, fluidly stepping backward and bowing at the same time.

Zersha looks at Hebion, obviously trying not to grin, but the dimples in her cheeks give her away.

Avrenka says to Ruea, "That's a good idea."

Luna takes a sip of her wine.

Reverent Istercal strolls down.

Kerennya says, "So the rage guy would be Asildu."

Sukidesu whispers something to Nawain.

Xionara softly says to Kethrai, "No. all glowing blue vials in there. Not same."

Avrenka says, "The man might represent Kertigen, so relating to Unaka."

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Zersha furrows her brow.

Kethrai asks Xionara, "But there are... vials?"

Illiya ponders.

Xionara softly asks Kethrai, "Tubes?"

Avrenka asks, "Then the killer vine plant is ... Miraena?"

Zersha says, "I think you all might be trying to put a square peg in a round hole."

Xionara scratches one ear, looking bemused.

Illiya nods at Zersha, obviously agreeing with her views.

Aerilia glances up at the sky.

Xionara softly says, "Containers of sort."

Sofina asks, "What is happening?"

Sofina leans on Zersha.

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Tirost takes a sip of his brandy.

Imroth asks, "Making explosives?"

Buzan says to Zersha, "Shove hard enough and it could fit."

Buzan shrugs.

Illiya grins at Medir, her dimples flashing into view.

Nevali slowly says, "Most of the visions rather put me in mind of the Heralds, whatever they may be. Or whatever came before them. Beings that create, and then are distracted, or forgetful, and simply leave. And their creations continue without them. Potted plant left alone to grow on its own. Star made for a night sky that goes unobserved. The laboratory incident..."

Zersha quietly says to Sofina, "There are five new visions, some people were thinking maybe it could mean one was for each of the people who came to tell us stuff."

Kethrai says, "The chemist is clearly trying to extract... something, involving four different mana types."

Sofina says, "Square hole, round peg."

Sofina nods to Zersha.

Jundara warbles out an airy whistle.

Zersha says to Buzan, "That isn't really fitting at that point."

Jundara nods at Nevali, obviously agreeing with her views.

Briaen gazes off into the distance.

Ruea asks, "So they're negligent gardeners? Bad babysitterS?"

Xionara softly says, "Thin translucent tubes."

Avrenka says to Kethrai, "That's interesting."

Xionara stares blankly into the distance.

Kethrai says, "Electricity for Elemental, wood for Life, crystal for Lunar, and the yellow gas is reminiscent of the golden light of Holy."

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Sofina says to Kethrai, "I'd say the chemist and what you all saw at Meraud's alter could be the samething."

Allye looks thoughtfully at Kethrai.

Jundara says to Ruea, "Uninterested until there is trouble for them..."

Aerilia ponders.

Avrenka says, "Mix 'em together and blow everything up, huh."

Imroth peers quizzically at Kethrai.

Kethrai says to Sofina, "It could well be. The distillate of all four of those mana types."

Fury's Touch Rejind just arrived.

Ruea nods to Jundara.

Sofina says, "Meraud showed you all it was ok to drink."

Mewawl scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Sofina shrugs.

Kethrai says, "Meraud showed us it was okay for HIM to drink."

Mewawl gazes heavenwards expectantly, but lowers his eyes unfulfilled.

Aerilia says, "..When done properly, at least."

Xionara chortles softly at some secret joke.

Ruea asks, "So a bit like ignoring the ivy plant growing on the side of the house until you notice it's broken down the morter between the bricks?"

Nevali says, "And the punching--the anger... anger of the Heralds, at us. The vision depicting US as the victim..."

Sofina quietly says, "He's a clever one."

Sofina snaps her fingers.

Imroth says, "Miskton would graciously listen to all interpretations, and gently guide people away from obvious incorrect interpretations."

Crobin ponders.

Avrenka says, "Anyone mind sharing the Meruad vision with me? I missed the vigil."

Aerilia nods.

Malorna says, "Might be metaphorical that its safe to use the magic not necesarily drink it."

Xionara shakes her head.

Crobin leans on Tirost.

Ruea pats Ezerak on the back.

Allye nods to Imroth.

Avrenka says to Aerilia, "Thanks."

Valynn nods at Malorna, obviously agreeing with her views.

Kethrai says, "We may be seeing that Divinity is a distillate of all four kinds of mana..."

Allye smiles sadly.

Medir takes a sip of his wine.

Sukidesu ponders.

Xionara softly says, "Last vision with unbridled rage seems like warning against use of power without restraint."

Ruea says, "And please, the interpretation discussion is open to all. If you'd like to participate, you should."

Kethrai says, "That doesn't mean that Divinity is something we can or should wield."

Sofina chortles softly at some secret joke.

Imroth asks Kethrai, "What about holy mana?"

Valynn rubs Allye in a friendly manner.

Imroth says, "That's a form of wielded divinity."

Sofina says, "I'm sure I speak for some who would like to have a form of divinity."

Zersha glances at Sofina.

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Kethrai says to Imroth, "Not the same thing. Holy mana is generated by the Immortals. Divinity is wielded by them and only them."

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Imroth ponders.

Briaen holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.

Allye leans on Valynn.

Grinning, Nawain pulls a swig from an itsy-bitsy Ilithic applewood keg reinforced with howlite-studded leather straps.

Kethrai says to Briaen, "...Ish."

Sofina says to Kethrai, "For someone as yourself, perhaps."

Nynn just arrived.

The shadowling exclaims, "Leeta li!"

Nawain takes a bite of the cookies.

Buzan nods to a shadowling.

Kerennya takes a bite of the cookies.

Kerennya gets herself a glass of strawberry lemonade. Yum!

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Luna says, "He drank, and he said there, you see? To me, it's a signal that it is safe to partake of."

Kethrai angles an ear toward Sofina slightly, but otherwise ignores her.

Medir gets himself a snifter of Rissan brandy. Yum!

Imroth nods to Luna.

Luna shrugs.

Imroth says to Luna, "That was pretty clear to me as well."

Luna nods to Imroth.

Avrenka says, "Perhaps one vision shows how it can be done, and the other vision the dangers of doing it unsupervised or carelessly."

Zersha nibbles her lip thoughtfully.

Imroth says, "But like all visions, interpretation is up to the individual."

Hebion says, "Perhaps he was just showing that all magic together empowers the holy magic. I don't think it was as clear as some want to believe."

Sofina says, "This concontion is going to level the playing field against whatever we are up against."

Imroth says, "Perhaps he was just thirsty and in the middle of a completely unrelated conversation."

Imroth shrugs.

Ruea says, "Are we not supposed to be drinking? Because if so I'm doomed."

Zersha softly asks, "What about the trees?"

Tirost grins at Ruea.

Tirost shakes his head at Ruea.

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Hebion nods to Zersha.

Zekai takes a sip of his brandy.

Nawain takes a bite of the cookies.

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Sofina says, "It may not be power some of you wish to yield, but there were visions regarding transcending and of Clerics becoming higher beings."

Buzan asks, "The trees represented the thirteen?"

Trajan says, "The trees were almost certainly representitive of the Immortals."

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Medir takes a sip of his brandy.

Briaen nods at Trajan, obviously agreeing with his views.

Nawain takes a bite of the cookies.

Imroth nods to Buzan.

Zynell grins mischievously at Sofina.

Illiya says, "I think it appeared that way."

Zersha softly says, "Something was hurting them, or causing them to suffer."

Kerennya nods at Trajan, obviously agreeing with his views.

Avrenka asks Sofina, "What visions are you referring to?"

Jundara gasps at Sofina!

Tirost says to Ruea, "The vision was about someone demonstrating a type of cocktail mixing. I think you're good."

(Crobin leans back on the wall listening intently to the group)

Paladin of Eylhaar Arkalye trudges down.

Nevali asks, "Did I miss when someone actually shared this Meraud vision in full?"

Ruea asks, "Do we feel like any of these visions are indicating which path forward is the right one?"

Kerennya says, "But the Immortals hurting seemed to me to be talking about the past."

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Jundara looks at Nevali and shrugs.

Zersha says, "I can share the three visions of people want."

Illiya says, "They could still be weathering a storm."

Illiya nods to Zersha.

Jundara says, "I didn't see this vision either... just bits and pieces being thrown out."

Nawain takes a bite of the cookies.

Sofina asks Avrenka, "A vision I had during at Arhat's Tower. I cant recall exactly which one it was, I believe it was Imroths?"

Sofina gazes at Imroth.

Sofina ponders.

Tirost nods to Aerilia.

Grinning, Nawain pulls a swig from an itsy-bitsy Ilithic applewood keg reinforced with howlite-studded leather straps.

Avrenka nods to Sofina.

Imroth points at himself.

Buzan asks, "It happened three times to the trees...three times of trouble? Has there been two before?"

Buzan ponders.

Kethrai says, "Depends how you count them, I suppose."

Avrenka says, "The Primal Elanthia vision referred to multiple life and extinction cycles."

Jundara looks at Buzan and shrugs.

Aerilia nods.

Buzan says to Kethrai, "Lets go with magic being awry."

Buzan ponders.

Xionara nods to Buzan.

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Zersha recites:

"A shaggy black wolf suddenly appears before me, majestic and full of presence, its eyes piercing me as if looking directly into me. Without warning, its mouth breaks open in a toothy grin, and it pants, trotting over toward a particular spot on the stone floor, standing next to a familiar looking worn stone. The wolf looked at me intently, then looks at the worn stone intently, then looked back at me, and wagged its tail happily. In a flash, the wolf and stone were gone."

Zersha glances at a worn stone.

Imroth points at a worn stone.

Jundara smiles at Zersha.

Illiya nods.

Zersha says, "I think that one is pretty obvious."

Illiya gazes at a worn stone.

Eyst pokes his finger at a worn stone.

The shadowling exclaims, "Roohoologoto to meeribeegee!"

Eyst just edged a little closer to the stone!

Xionara gestures at a worn stone.

Buzan nods agreeably at a shadowling.

Ruea ponders.

Nevali asks, "...get rid of the stone?"

Nevali twitches an ear nervously.

Avrenka says, "Or to keep doing more sorcery at the stone."

Kethrai says, "Saragos asked Meraud specifically to show where the souls of the missing could be found."

Zersha nods to Kethrai.

Ezerak says to Nevali, "I do not recommend that."

Ruea says, "Maybe the five visions are sent from the five missing, rather than being from or about the messengers."

Illiya says, "I think he's just calling our attention to the stone, it doesn't seem there's more information than that."

Imroth nods to Kethrai.

Luna nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Mewawl scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Zersha recites:

"Everything goes dark for a moment and I watch as thirteen saplings sprout from the ground and begin to rapidly grow, leaves unfurling and branches extending. The ground ripples and a gust of dry air washes over me, pulling moisture from the ground and from the young trees. They wither, dropping leaves and bending slightly, but recover, and continue to grow. After some time, the ground ripples again, and the gust of air returns -- though the trees are larger and more established, still they suffer. The trees continue to grow into mighty, towering behemoths, their canopies intertwined with one another, twinkling stars embedded within them, and their roots glow in the darkness. The ground ripples once more, the gust of dry air returns, and the trees weather the storm. The vision fades."

Aerilia nods to Illiya.

Zynell playfully tilts her ears toward Sothios.

Crobin just touched a worn stone.

Crobin ponders.

Ozek just arrived.

Buzan says, "139, isn't that when something happened to the clans? The three being covered...threes...its too much counting."

Mewawl scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Kerennya asks, "The dry gust of air happened twice! Maybe it's now returned?"

Imroth says, "I assume that one is about how the immortals will endure. Perhaps no matter the path we take."

Tirost nods to Kerennya.

Object's ears droop slightly, giving his face a tired look.

Jundara just touched a worn stone.

Zersha nibbles her lip thoughtfully.

Jundara rubs a worn stone.

Blackgeist clears her throat.

Mewawl nods to Elizzibiana.

Illiya says, "I think it's just showing us that the immortals are once again facing a storm, and not necessarily the otucome."

Elizzibiana pats Mewawl on the back.

Illiya says, "Outcome."

Kethrai asks, "Is it referring to attempts to drain from the Font of Creation? That it's happened before, and they may wither, but they are restored?"

Hebion rests his hand on Zersha's arm with a soft smile.

Avrenka says, "Clerics have noted the Font of Creation drying up in a sense ... and Truffenyi showed moon mages a vision of the Font of Creation wheel speeding up during Imroth's sorcery experiment ... perhaps this is not the first time the Font of Creation has dried up."

Aerilia nods.

Khozh Elizzibiana hobbles down.

Avrenka nods to Kethrai.

Aerilia says, "And they are stronger now than ever before."

Zersha smiles at Hebion, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Healer Leilanie just arrived, leading her group.

(Zersha hooded figure swathed in black robes appeared before me, holding his arms wide in front of him, fingers bent in a gesture often used by mages preparing spells. "Watch carefully," he says. Four shimmering streams appear before him, separate strands standing apart. Slowly, he brings his hands together, and the streams close in on one another, twining together in an intricate weave. The man draws something that looks like liquid light away, pooling it in his hands, then takes a drink. "There. You see?" He turns and suddenly vanishes.)

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Zersha gazes up at the sky.

Zersha recites:

"A hooded figure swathed in black robes appeared before me, holding his arms wide in front of him, fingers bent in a gesture often used by mages preparing spells. "Watch carefully," he says. Four shimmering streams appear before him, separate strands standing apart. Slowly, he brings his hands together, and the streams close in on one another, twining together in an intricate weave. The man draws something that looks like liquid light away, pooling it in his hands, then takes a drink. "There. You see?" He turns and suddenly vanishes."

Kethrai says, "A hooded figure..."

Avrenka asks, "Meraud, right?"

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Imroth nods.

Aerilia nods.

Ruea chuckles.

Medir nods.

Illiya says, "It does sound like Meraud."

Imroth says, "Sorcery cocktails."

Ruea asks, "How many types of mana are there?"

Buzan says, "That one sounds like pooling the four mana types and drinking of the product."

Aerilia says, "Four."

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Imroth says, "Four."

Illiya asks Imroth, "Catering for your party?"

Casari says, "Depends on who you ask."

Zynell gestures at a worn stone.
A brilliant silver glow surrounds a worn stone for a few moments, but nothing else seems to happen.

Imroth nods to Illiya.

Medir takes a sip of his brandy.

Kethrai says to Casari, "Four. Those people are wrong."

Avrenka says, "It's interesting that it combined into liquid light, and that it was something he drank."

Casari looks at Kethrai and shrugs.

Anuril grins at Kethrai.

Zersha grins at Kethrai, her dimples flashing into view.

Avrenka scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Observer Amailia just arrived.

Jundara rubs Nevali's back.

Nevali says, "Eat the mana."

Ezerak says, "That seems to be how he appears in visions. Though...I suppose it was not too specific. Could be someone else in a black robe."

Malorna says, "Can somehow hanress the 4 and link and have someone use it? wouldnt that be similar to the vision."

Jundara giggles at Nevali.

Hanryu takes a sip of his brandy.

Malorna gets a latticed cocobolo picnic basket tied with merlot ruby sea otters from inside an effervescent eddy of honey-hued light captured by a sungold frame.

Tirost says, "It is also interesting that he was demonstrating the weaving and the drinking, as if showing me how to it."

Luna nods to Tirost.

Malorna pulls a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands out of a picnic basket, setting her basket aside as as she shakes out the cloth and lays it out upon the ground.

Aerilia nods to Tirost.

Jundara observes a worn stone with fascination.

Buzan says, "Chain harness while holding hands."

Malorna says, "Foods on cloth.. please grab."

Buzan nods.

Nevali says, "Harness mana into a drink..."

Illiya says, "True."

Avrenka says, "Saying "watch carefully" implies a sort of teaching moment."

Object gets a slice of marzipan cheesecake from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Nevali asks, "Pass it around?"

Imroth gets a mug of zombie's revenge from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Ezerak takes a bite of the stew.

Ezerak takes a bite of the stew.

Object takes a bite of the cheesecake.

Jundara ponders.

Object takes a bite of the cheesecake.

Illiya smiles at Medir, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Medir stands up.

Nawain nods to Avrenka.

Imroth gives a mug of zombie's revenge a hug!

Object takes a bite of the cheesecake.

Medir wrings his hands.

Jundara points at a worn stone.

Casari says, "It would be a different conversation if we could actually see four types at once."

Allye nods to Medir.

Illiya hugs Medir, who wraps his arms around Illiya with a warm smile.

Malorna gets a bunch of plump juicy grapes from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Medir takes a sip of his brandy.

Tirost says, "I find the vigil visions to have hopeful signs."

Medir hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return.

Hunter Hanryu pads down.

Tirost says, "Which is nice for a change."

Imroth nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Zersha quietly asks Casari, "Aren't there things that can allow you to do that?"

Illiya nods to Tirost.

Medir nods politely.

Medir walks down.

Asilyia beams at Ezerak!

Avrenka asks, "Well whoever our adversary is, they can only manipulate mana types, right?"

Crobin nods to Zersha.

Casari says to Zersha, "For an instant only."

Crobin says, "There is."

Zersha nods to Casari.

Avrenka says, "Sorry, only 3 mana types."

Avrenka says, "Perhaps the solution or weapon is ... 4 mana types."

Jundara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Nawain.

Ezerak grins at Asilyia, his dimples flashing into view.

Zekai takes a sip of his brandy.

Shaylynne asks Zersha, "You mean tuners?"

Imroth says to Avrenka, "So.. sorcery."

Asilyia giggles at Ezerak.

Object takes a bite of the cheesecake.

Zersha nods to Shaylynne.

Aerilia says to Avrenka, "If the composition of the prison is anything to go by. All but holy."

Zersha smiles at Shaylynne, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Shaylynne nods.

Avrenka says, "Sorcery of 4 mana types would bring to bear magic that our adversary wouldn't know about."

Avrenka says, "Or .. sorcery of any holy type."

Object takes a bite of the cheesecake.

Anuril gets himself a snifter of Rissan brandy. Yum!

Malorna takes a bite of the grapes.

Imroth says, "Or just holy spells."

Anuril guzzles down some of his brandy and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.

Nevali asks Kethrai, "What was the thing you mentioned at the Overhealer's meeting, that I and someone else wanted to discuss with you?"

Buzan says, "Push four mana types into liraxes thingy and ..."

Jundara nods to Nawain.

Xionara frowns.

Avrenka says, "But the Meraud vision seems to be encouraging us to use all 4."

Kethrai nods to Imroth.

Kethrai says to Imroth, "Yeah, that last part."

Imroth chuckles at Kethrai.

Jundara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Nevali.

Ruea says to Malorna, "It was nice of you to bring snacks, thank you."

Nynn gets a fudge brownie cupcake elegantly frosted with milk chocolate icing topped by a sprinkle of snow-white powdered sugar from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Aerilia nods to Avrenka.

Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at Nevali.

Ruea smiles.

Kethrai asks Nevali, "Hm?"

Avrenka says, "...but using all 4 mana types has always been ... insanely disastrous."

Malorna says, "I thought it was meant to happen here at the stone."

Avrenka nods to Malorna.

Xionara nods to Malorna.

Illiya says to Kethrai, "Some place in Horse Clan."

Sukidesu ponders.

Kethrai scratches one ear, looking bemused.

Nevali says to Kethrai, "I can't remember. You said something at the meeting, and I said, can you tell me more about that later? And someone else chimed in, wanting to know it too... Illiya, I think."

Zersha asks, "Didn't someone say that using all four is called feral magic? Or am I confused again?"

Zersha blushes, the tips of her ears turning a delicate scarlet hue.

Nevali nods to Illiya.

Kethrai says, "Oh."

Nawain shakes her head as if clearing it.

Nynn's tail sways freely. Looks like she really enjoys being in moonskin.

Object wags his tail enthusiastically.

A pained expression crosses Kethrai's face.

Aerilia says to Avrenka, "We might be able to lessen the indivudal risk by doing the same sort of thing we did with the aether loom. Have a lot of casters channel their own mana type, someone else to guide them.."

Avrenka nods to Zersha.

Aerilia ponders.

Ruea asks, "And these visions came after the spires took out the three Clan territories, right?"

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Illiya nods to Aerilia.

Xionara softly says to Zersha, "Yes,."

Zersha gives a slight nod.

Kethrai quietly says, "Not here."

Anuril guzzles down some of his brandy and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.

Xionara softly says to Zersha, "That correct."

Sofina waggles her fingers mystically at Malorna. How nice.

Zersha gazes at Trajan.

Avrenka says, "How to slowly and carefully intricately weave together 4 mana types ..."

Imroth jumps back a few feet and lands on his rump, looking dazed!

Nevali says to Kethrai, "Just can't remember, and never seem to find you around to ask..."

Nynn goes down.

Imroth clears his throat.

Imroth leaps to his feet!

Illiya says, "Again I don't think that the vision was necessarily suggesting sorcery, it looked as if he might have been weaving different mana types while keeping them discrete."

The tiny shadowling glares at Rejind.

Kethrai whispers something to Nevali.

Tirost nods to Crobin.

Zersha nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Xionara gazes at a worn stone.

Sofina asks, "Plucking them individually?"

Aerilia nods to Illiya.

Sofina peers quizzically at Illiya.

Aerilia says, "That may be."

Valynn nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Imroth says, "Nah. It was basically Meraud saying "Sorcery is really awesome. Check these moves."

Illiya says to Sofina, "It was a weave, after all, and not a milkshake."

Aerilia says, "The prison was made up of three distinct mana types, seperate but working in tandum."

Zersha looks at Imroth, obviously trying not to grin, but the dimples in her cheeks give her away.

Avrenka says, "We did that at the time of the abduction ... we all harnessed our maximum amounts."

Ruea raises an eyebrow in Imroth's direction.

Crobin nods.

Sofina grins at Illiya.

Avrenka says, "Standing together closely."

Shaylynne grins at Illiya.

Crobin chuckles.

Zersha asks Imroth, "We sometimes see what we want to see?"

Ruea says, "Maybe Meraud drinking in his vision was his way of saying we need to wait until we're a little older to indulge in things like sorcery."

Kethrai nods at Zersha, obviously agreeing with her views.

Ruea chuckles.

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Tirost says to Illiya, "I thought the same, but then Unaka seemed to latch onto the idea that the separate strands represented separate mana types."

Shaylynne nods to Illiya and snaps her fingers.

Imroth chuckles.

Eyst says, "Perhaps it just suggests that he is the one being empowered when sorcery is performed."

Allye gazes down at her hands.

Aerilia chuckles.

Tirost grins at Crobin.

Ruea glances at Allye.

Avrenka says, "I believe he was trying to teach us something."

Trajan bows his head and chants a psalm.

Luna nods at Avrenka, obviously agreeing with his views.

Tirost says to Eyst, "That thought crossed my mind too."

Imroth says, "There has been a lot of stretching visions to fit narratives."

Valynn pulls down the hood of her shroud.

Zersha smiles at Valynn, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Sofina snickers at Imroth.

Valynn rubs her right eye.

Illiya says, "Maybe Meraud is fed up with wild magic and he's telling us to get soused."

Valynn shakes her head.

Zersha giggles at Illiya.

Anuril mutters something into the air about ahead of you.

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Anuril guzzles down some of his brandy and then smacks his lips and wipes them with his sleeve.

Valynn rubs her head.

Kethrai gives Anuril a friendly nudge as he brushes his tail against his waist.

Shaylynne snickers at Illiya.

Tirost says to Eyst, "It would align with Valenal and Liraxes method of bringing about balance, assuming Meraud and the Immortals are good for planar balance."

Valynn pulls the hood of her shroud up.

(Crobin looks ahead of himself)

Eyst nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Illiya grins at Shaylynne, her dimples flashing into view.

Kethrai says, "And assuming Valenal and Liraxes want planar balance in the same way we understand it."

Kerennya stops listening to Tirost.

In the blink of an eye, Valynn disappears into her surroundings.

Illiya sticks her tongue out at Shaylynne.

Nevali says, "Liraxes is only several months old, and not from this plane. I don't trust toddlers from THIS plane, let alone whatever it came from..."

Zersha grins at Nevali, her dimples flashing into view.

Xionara frowns.

Avrenka says, "When I asked Liraxes about balance, he seemed to be prioritizing the survival of the plane, as he seemed convinced the plane will not survive the current state of imbalance."

Shaylynne ponders.

Imroth says, "He seems pretty smart and capable for a toddler."

Jundara nods to Nevali.

Jundara warbles out an airy whistle.

Trajan asks, "Would someone mind casting a life magic spell at me?"

Zersha glances at Trajan.

Ezerak says to Nevali, "The Smoking Woman from the visions seems to think it much older than that."

Jundara says, "We don't even really know WHAT Liraxes is..."

Zersha nods to Jundara.

Imroth nods to Ezerak.

Trajan says to Kethrai, "'Thank you."

Kethrai nods to Trajan.

Xionara blinks.

Sofina says, "He's math."

Shaylynne says, "He's blue."

Jundara says, "That doesn't make sense..."

Jundara shakes her head.

Avrenka says, "And yet Liraxes said this is his first time intervening to restore balance."

Nevali says to Ezerak, "Technically, so am I. My soul's been about the Wheel who knows how many times. Doesn't mean I'm any wiser or smarter than any other girl my age."

Tirost says, "I am beginning to think the focus on sorcery is not helpful. It is a broad concept, and might be useful or destructive based on the circumstance. I want to know more about whatever's causing the imbalance, how to weaken it, and support the Immortals."

Trajan says, "I believe that Liraxes is an immune response of sorts, generated by the Plane of Probability."

Jundara nods at Nevali, obviously agreeing with her views.

Aerilia nods to Tirost.

Crobin's tail undulates lazily through the air.

Trajan says, "To restore what it considers 'balance'."

Avrenka says to Trajan, "He did say he was created by Balance and serves Balance, and named it as an entity."

Trajan nods to Avrenka.

Trajan says, "Part of the natural order."

Xionara nods.

Illiya says, "The chemist vision seems similar to the Meraud vision in that both appear to involve four mana types."

Hebion screws his eyes shut and winces.

Buzan asks, "But can balance give me favors?"

The shadowling exclaims, "Mateetono!"

Zersha gazes at Hebion.

Imroth says, "Walk me through the chemist working with four mana types."

Kethrai asks Buzan, "Does it matter how favored you are if the plane itself ceases to exist?"

Trajan asks, "Would someone mind casting a lunar magic spell at me, please?"

Imroth says, "I didn't see that."

Aerilia says to Tirost, "Sorcery's just a weight being applied to the scales, for good or bad depending on your opinion. Whatever's benefiting from all of this is what we need to find and stop."

Kerennya says to Buzan, "If the plane continues, sure."

Avrenka raises his palms skyward, chanting.

Avrenka gestures at Trajan.

Illiya says, "With the chemist, the liquids combined and they exploded, whereas Meraud seemed to drink them easily as a demonstration to us."

Tirost nods at Aerilia, obviously agreeing with her views.

Trajan nods politely to Avrenka.

Buzan ponders.

Avrenka asks Trajan, "You trying to be a guinea pig of 4 mana types?"

Leilanie pulls Couri to her in a tight hug.

Casari asks, "Was it the combined liquids that exploded, or the uncombined one?"

Leilanie just skipped out.

Illiya says, "The combined liquids exploded."

Avrenka says to Casari, "Unclear."

Zynell says to Kethrai, "I am clerically obligated to inform you that aye, it does matter."

Trajan nods to Avrenka.

Ruea says, "I would never allow someone to do that to a guinea pig."

Xionara nods to Illiya.

Ruea gazes at her fingernails.

Buzan says to Kethrai, "Maybe..."

Illiya ponders.

Buzan shrugs.

Kethrai says, "The liquid was dripped from one sample to the next. The final distillate included all of them."

Trajan says, "Avrenk 'Although, I'm sure nothing important will come of it."

Trajan mutters to himself.

Zersha rubs her head.

Imroth asks, "Chemist seemed to be distilling something, right?"

Trajan says to Avrenka, "'Although, I'm sure nothing important will come of it."

Imroth says, "Not combining."

Imroth says, "Purifying. Removing stuff."

Trajan asks, "Would someone mind casting an elemental spell on me?"

Kethrai says, "Distilling an essence from a sample of four different things."

irost nods to Trajan.

Imroth asks, "What are the four things??"

Trajan says to Tirost, "'Thank you."

Zersha says to Trajan, "I don't think that's actually mixing the manas though."

Shaylynne asks, "What if when we voted, the machine took our essence?"

Kethrai says, "The yellow gas, electricity, wood, and crystal."

Shaylynne squints.

Zersha glances at Shaylynne.

Trajan says to Zersha, "'It's an experiment."

Imroth ponders.

Illiya says to Imroth, "Four tubes, exposed to different circumstances - under hissing yellow gas, passing through crackling electricity, dripped along onto thinly sliced sections of pulpy wood, pressed into crystal dust."

Sofina says, "He's showing how to seperate it."

Nevali says to Shaylynne, "That's the sort of thing I wanted more information on, before I think about using it..."

Jundara looks at Nevali and lets out an eerie, warbling wail of despair.

Jundara nods.

Nevali hugs Jundara, who wraps her arms around Nevali with a warm smile.

Imroth ponders.

Trajan stands near a worn stone.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Jundara says, "Sounds dangerous..."

Jundara frets.

The shadowling exclaims, "Boomee!"

Avrenka says, "We actually have one example of Feral Magic today."

Kerennya gestures.

Nevali says, "I WILL boo you if you don't hush."

Nevali glares at a shadowling.

Avrenka says, "The hazy glass gyre."

Kethrai nods to Avrenka.

Misteeus exhales softly on his sanowret crystal, and scintillating sparks of light dance across its surface.

Tirost says to Ruea, "It was good to talk over the visions. Thanks for bringing us together."

Imroth nods to Avrenka.

Nawain pats Nevali on the back.

Tirost says, "Before I head south, I'm going to take a look at Liraxes' machine."

Ruea says to Tirost, "My pleasure, thank you for attending."

Tirost bows to Ruea.

Aerilia stands up.

Illiya says, "My interpretation is that Meraud is demonstrating the safe way to employ all 4 types of mana is by weaving them, whereas combining them as in the chemistry lab might cause an explosion."

Imroth nods to Tirost.

Shaylynne ponders.

(Zersha blinks her eyes tiredly and rubs a hand across them.)

Imroth says to Tirost, "Me too."

Tirost nods to Imroth.

Trajan asks, "I don't suppose anyone has any thoughts on how to weave mana strands together?"

Hebion rests his hand on Zersha's arm with a soft smile.

Tirost asks Crobin, "Coming, Crobin?"

Crobin says, "I am."

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Illiya says, "Saragos has done it I think."

Jundara raises her hand.

Tirost nods.

Ruea asks, "So we need four people wielding a mana type each directed at a singular object?"

Jundara says, "We do...."

Zersha says to Hebion, "I think it might be time to take a peek at that machine before I fall over where I stand."

Tirost says, "Take care, everyone."

Nawain nods in agreement.

Amailia gazes heavenwards expectantly, but lowers her eyes unfulfilled.

Crobin just hugged Nawain.

Crobin hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return.

Illiya says to Ruea, "I think it's something Saragos might be able to do."

Nawain hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile.

Buzan waves to Tirost.

Aerilia bobs a brief, respectful bow.

Crobin just hugged Ruea.

Illiya hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Illiya with a warm smile.

Crobin hugs Zynell, who wraps her arms around Crobin with a warm smile.

Tirost waves to Buzan.

Crobin gives Sothios a brotherly hug, ruffling his hair with his knuckles.

Crobin hugs Kethrai, who wraps his arms around Crobin with a warm smile.

Hebion nods to Zersha.

Zynell hugs Couri, who wraps her arms around Zynell with a warm smile.

Avrenka says, "Perhaps instead of Elemental mana users powering Saragos's loom thingie ... it would be all 4 mana users."

Crobin hugs Xionara, who wraps her arms around Crobin with a warm smile.

Jundara says to Trajan, "We did it before ...."

Malorna hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Malorna with a warm smile.

Crobin pats Anuril on the back.

Zersha pulls Sofina to her in a tight hug.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Zynell hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Zynell with a warm smile.

Tirost says, "Moving."

Crobin hugs Malorna, who wraps her arms around Crobin with a warm smile.

Ruea says to Illiya, "Probably, but there are several other skilled mana users here who might do it differently."

Knight of Meraud Tirost drifts down, leading his group.

Zersha says to Ruea, "Thank you for gathering us and for the snacks."

Trajan nods to Jundara.

Nevali twitches an ear at Jundara nervously.

Sukidesu ponders.

Ruea smiles at Zersha.

Forest Sprite Lileath goes down.

Ruea says to Zersha, "My pleasure."

Zersha curtsies gracefully.

Trajan asks Jundara, "'Would you mind sharing?"

Jundara says to Trajan, "Well, not me... but they did... working together."

Ruea curtsies.

Jundara points at Nawain.

Desert Dancer Zersha goes down, leading her group.

Nawain shifts her weight.

Kethrai whispers something to Nevali.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Jundara says, "The elementalists and clerics tried."

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Kethrai whispers something to Illiya.

Amailia gazes heavenwards expectantly, but lowers her eyes unfulfilled.

Jundara says, "It was pretty... but really scary."

Illiya nods to Kethrai.

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Nawain gazes up at the sky.

Avrenka asks, "What if we add Life and Lunar to the mix?"

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Nawain distantly says, "Things explode."

Ruea asks, "I mean do we literally need to weave four mana types together, or is it more creating a unit of wielders who can all work togther to focus their mana on the same thing?"

Jundara snuggles up to Nevali.

Illiya hugs Shaylynne, getting a smile in return.

Illiya hugs Allye, getting a smile in return.

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Illiya joins Kethrai's group.

Shaylynne nods to Illiya.

Allye hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return.

Shaylynne hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return.

Mewawl fixes Jundara with a calm, clear stare.

Anuril's owl fades over the course of a few seconds, returning to normal.

Mewawl asks, "Gonna pick up the junk then?"

Anuril smirks.

Mewawl points at some maple lumber on the ground.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Mewawl points at an articulated maple necklace on the ground.

Imroth glances at Mewawl.

Kerennya picks up some maple lumber.

Avrenka asks, "Did the Holy and Elemental Mana even mix at Saragos' last experiment though?"

Mewawl says, "Thank you."

Avrenka says, "I thought they were each doing their own separate thing."

Nawain says, "No. We did not let them mix."

Kerennya says, "I dunno about mixing, but they did weave it for a bit."

Nawain says, "Mixing is bad."

Briaen holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.

Nawain rolls her eyes.

Jundara nods to Kerennya.

Kerennya says, "Because the tapestry they made came undone."

Zynell says, "They did in a most terrible and preventable way."

Avrenka asks, "Ok so ... don't mix ... but weave?"

Nevali says to Jundara, "Time to go... head hurts... need sleep."

Nevali stands up.

Jundara nods to Nevali.

Jundara stands up.

Jundara joins Nevali's group.

Nawain says, "No, no weaving. The elementalists wove."

Ruea asks Kethrai, "What do you think?"

Darkling Blackgeist goes down.

Sofina whispers something to Nawain.

Nawain says, "And we wove, all... over here."

Nawain makes a grunting noise.

Jundara waves.

Jundara curtsies.

Nevali sweeps a pointed blue hat with a wide brim off her head and in front of her in a large arc, fluidly stepping backward and bowing at the same time.

Kethrai says to Ruea, "That we should continue eschewing sorcery. I've seen nothing to say otherwise."

Jundara shudders.

Numinist Nevali parades down, leading her group.

Ruea nods to Kethrai.

A pained expression crosses Object's face.

Nawain fixes Sofina with a sharp, wolfish stare.

Kerennya puts her lumber in her duffel bag.

Imroth says, "Take care everyone."

Casari says, "As before, everything's up to interpretation. It all very reasonably looks like whatever you want it to look like."

Kethrai says, "Be safe, all..."

Sofina curtsies to Imroth.

Imroth says to Ruea, "Thank you for hosting."

Kerennya takes a sip of her lemonade.

Heart Tender Kethrai glides down, leading his group.

Trajan nods politely to Imroth.

Imroth smiles at Sofina.

Xionara raises an eyebrow.

Ezerak nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views.

Ruea chuckles.

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Xionara softly says, "Disagree."

Imroth says to Sofina, "Stay out of trouble."

Kerennya gets herself a slice of pecan fudge brownies. Yum!

Buzan peers quizzically at Xionara.

Luna says to Ruea, "Thank you."

Luna bows.

Sofina casually observes the area.

Ruea says to Imroth, "Thank you for atttending."

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Imroth raises his hand in a quick salute.

Ruea smiles at Luna.

Tezirite Luna strolls down.

Nawain gazes at Sofina.

Casari says to Ruea, "Thanks for hosting."

Ruea asks Asilyia, "Is everyone leaving angry or am I misreading this situation?"

Nawain smirks.

Ruea smiles at Casari.

Sofina smiles at Nawain.

Trajan says, "I think it's up to us to experiment and turn interpretation into reality."

Sofina grins at Malorna.

Amailia winks at Nawain.

Imroth says, "I am off to cast my vote at the space crystal machine."

Briaen stands up.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Sofina looks at Imroth and applauds!

Sofina says, "You want to tap it."

Ezerak says to Ruea, "Did I miss something? I do not think they are angry."

Asilyia says to Ruea, "I... I'm not sure."

Imroth nods.

Briaen carefully gathers up the delicate folds of a light leather prayer mat tooled with a sheaf of golden grain overlaying a brilliant rising sun.

Holy Vengeance Imroth trudges down.

Briaen puts his mat in his pilgrim's satchel.

Kerennya says, "Didn't seem angry to me."

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Object says, "Opinionated. Not angry."

Ruea shrugs.

Nawain nods to Avrenka.

Ruea says, "I've been wrong before."

Ruea smiles.

Nawain smiles at Amailia.

Avrenka nods to Nawain.

Ruea says, "Don't tell Rileos."

Ezerak chuckles.

Zynell grins at Ruea.

Kerennya smiles at Ruea.

Mewawl just left.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Allye grins at Shaylynne.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Shaylynne wanders down, leading her group.

Object glances up at the sky.

After a few moments he lowers his gaze.

Object slowly empties his lungs.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Trajan asks, "How does this stone fit in to the picture?"

Trajan glances at a worn stone.

Ruea says, "So, what I've surmised is we have five new visions that are adding to the confusion rather than helpfully clarifying things in a simple way."

Ruea gets herself a goblet of Dalesian white wine. Yum!

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Kerennya says, "That is where Navesi stood when she was taken."

Casari says to Ruea, "Lunar magic at work."

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Casari grins.

Zynell says to Ruea, "But we have a future again so that is better than prior."

Object gets a frosted glass of Black Fox Schnapps from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Ezerak nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views.

Object takes a sip of his Schnapps.

Sofina offers Nawain a gold-edged monkshood vial.

Trajan nods to Kerennya.

Object takes a sip of his Schnapps.

Zynell holds her hand out towards Ruea for a highfive.

Trajan says, "I can see that."

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Nawain squints at Sofina.

Malorna says, "More stuffs on cloth if anyone wants."

Kerennya says, "But I can sense life essences from all 5 of the taken on the stone."

Ruea says, "I do love having a future."

Avrenka says to Ruea, "The moon mage visions almost never make sense when received ... but they suddenly make sense a few months later, I've found."

Sofina seems to be waiting for something.

Ezerak says, "I cannot say I've ever walked away from one of Miskton's visions meetings less confused than when I arrived."

Casari says, "We can't all agree on the meaning of the visions from the Meraud vigil, either."

Ruea and Zynell highfive each other.

Casari shrugs.

Ruea says to Zynell, "I think that's the second time I've ever done that."

Nawain gazes at Sofina.

Ruea smiles.

Zynell winks at Ruea.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Buzan glances up at the sky.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Sofina moves a gold-edged monkshood vial to her left hand.

Ruea says to Ezerak, "I can certainly agree with that."

Zynell says to Ruea, "I do not mind being your second."

Trajan just touched a worn stone.

Sofina gets a purple crystal vial of pungent stunning poison from inside her thigh pouch.

Trajan just tried to pull a worn stone.

Sofina sniffs at a purple crystal vial of pungent stunning poison.

Sofina puts her poison in her scavenger's pack.

Mewawl just arrived.

Trajan seems to be trying to figure out how to turn a worn stone.

Misteeus just left.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Ruea says, "I still think the answer isn't weaving. It's like having four archers load their bows and fire at the same target simultaniously."

Nawain shakes her head as if clearing it.

Sofina looks at Nawain and shrugs.

Amailia scans the sky, looking for portents and insight.

Avrenka says, "It's certainly extremely risky to simply dive into."

Casari nods to Ruea.

Trajan says, "It takes me 10 secoonds to study the stone, and nothing comes of it."

Nawain snorts, loudly.

Trajan says, "Seconds, rather."

Kerennya says, "Look at it."

Nawain fixes Sofina with a sharp, wolfish stare.

Observer Amailia goes down.

Sofina puts her vial in her scavenger's pack.

(look stone)
This worn stone is the one-hundred thirty-ninth stone in the pattern on the floor, precisely where Navesi stood when she was taken. Absent the strange markings and glow present across the rest of the room, it has five circles marking the points of a star on its surface. The adjacent stones are slightly cracked.

Trajan seems to be trying to figure out how to turn a worn stone.

Death's Messenger Buzan goes down.

Kerennya says, "And I can also sense somethign when I focus, though I don't know if users of non-life mana can."

Trajan nods.

Trajan says, "Everyone can."

Briaen casually observes the area.

Kerennya nods.

Eyst nods politely.

Esotericist Eyst plods down.

Kerennya takes a bite of the brownies.

Tempest Knight Saragos just arrived.

Ezerak nods politely to Saragos.

Saragos gives a courteous nod and tips his hat politely.

Briaen nods to Saragos.

Ruea smiles at Saragos.

Trajan looked like he was about ready to punch the stone.

Nawain stands up.

Object nods politely to Saragos.

Kerennya smiles at Saragos.

Trajan just edged a little closer to the stone!

Zekai goes down.

Sublime Mender Kerennya glides down.

Sofina glances up at the sky.

Ruea says to Saragos, "You're just in time, we've decided we need to point all four magics at someone."

Saragos says, "Hmm."

Casari says to Saragos, "There was also a vision of you breaking reality in half trying to reach Navesi."

Sukidesu gets an overstuffed tart bursting with coconut and marshmallow from atop a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands.

Saragos asks Casari, "Really?"

Sukidesu takes a bite of the tart.

Sukidesu takes a bite of the tart.

Xionara shakes her head.

Casari says to Saragos, "Well, that's one interpretation."

Sukidesu takes a bite of the tart.

Ezerak chuckles at Casari.

Casari appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Ezerak says, "An interesting interpretation."

Sofina glances up at the sky.

Nawain shudders.

Telaen Mewawl rambles down.

Saragos says, "I'm not sure about the third vision from Meraud, and the four mana types. I don't know what my interpreation of that is yet."

Casari nods in agreement.

Zynell says, "Was that the sky parting one or the face punching one."

Zynell angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Casari.

Casari says, "There have been a lot of visions, and they are mostly unclear. It's too easy to assume they mean one thing or its opposite, even together."

Casari says to Zynell, "Oh, well, I guess both."

Casari nods to Zynell.

Zynell giggles.

Ruea says to Saragos, "There are some who think the vision means you should weave all four mana types into your net, and I think we should just aim all four at the same object at once and then let them go."

Malorna says, "Whats the net."

Saragos says, "Four mana types... traditionally, that's Feral Magic. You use that to fundamentally break the laws of reality, at least for a time. In some cases, you can do so strategically - like in the Timekeepers' case."

Saragos says, "But I'd think you'd have to know what you want to break and for what reason. Otherwise you're just blowing things up."

Xionara softly says to Saragos, "Perhaps should talk to Timekeeper in Crossing."

Trajan says, "I'm going to go investigate the Liraxes' device."

Briaen says, "Breaking reality seems like an interesting way to find the door to the prison. Especially if the weave could be focused on something sharp enough to slice through whatever barriers exist between here and there."

Nawain glances at Briaen.

Briaen says, "Like, a knife for example."

Trajan says, "Take care, everyone."

Trajan raises his hand in a quick salute.

Briaen nods to Trajan.

Light rain begins to fall from the sky.

Knight Errant Trajan goes down.

Avrenka says to Saragos, "My thought is ... it makes sense to weave magic of 4 mana types, cuz it would be magic that our adversary would know nothing about, given their lack of use of Holy mana."

Xionara softly asks Avrenka, "How drawing that conclusion?"

Nawain gives Briaen a slight nod.

Saragos nods to Briaen.

Saragos says, "Maybe."

Sofina shakes her head.

Saragos says, "The Timekeepers haven't answered. I think we're on our own for that."

Ezerak rubs his head.

Taikyna nods politely.

Saragos says, "There's something to the idea that Feral Magic might not be something a Gardener is prepared to deal with, but I'd want to be clear on the purpose of it."

Fateweaver Taikyna goes down.

Saragos says, "And that doesn't seem to make sense with the vision."

Saragos shrugs.

Avrenka says to Xionara, "The Heralds know how to weave 3 mana types far better than any of us can, as seen from the Null Prison, Miraena's armor ... we'd need something that is beyond the Heralds abilities."

Sukidesu says, "I wish we could get some clarity..."

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Ruea says, "Oh, if they just give it to us we won't feel like we earned it."

Ruea grins wryly.

Saragos says to Nawain, "I like that idea."

Sukidesu smirks at Ruea.

Ezerak says to Ruea, "I'd be okay with that, at this point."

Ezerak sighs.

Casari nods at Ezerak, obviously agreeing with his views.

Ezerak gazes at a worn stone.

Nawain ducks her head.

Ruea says to Ezerak, "She'll be home soon."

Ruea rubs Ezerak gently.

Saragos says, "I will say that Osven's Philosopher's Knot, which killed Maelshyve was ultimately a work of Feral Magic."

Ezerak gives a slight nod.

Casari leans on Asilyia.

Nawain ponders.

Asilyia smiles at Casari.

Xionara nods.

Eyuve just left.

Casari asks Saragos, "I take it we haven't found a spare knot yet?"

Saragos says, "But making spell patterns, especially Feral Magic, isn't like dusting crops. You can't just throw a little bit out there and hope for the best and expect good results."

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Saragos says to Casari, "Nobody alive today has the skill to remake the Knot. Sivroch made sure of it."

A pained expression crosses Nawain's face.

Casari says, "Might have been true when Sivroch made sure of it. Could be that it's changed again by now."

Avrenka says to Saragos, "Agreed."

Avrenka says, "If we combine the wrong pattern, we might end up casting the Voidspell and annihilating everything."

Saragos says, "I have a solid theory on what it did, but... we're a long way from that being a viable option. We don't even know what we're pointing it at."

Ruea says, "Anything that can be done once can be done again. But there would be a significant number of deaths during the trial period."

Casari shifts her weight.

Casari says, "Already a lot of death, seems like."

Soul Surgeon Zynell patters down, leading her group.

Saragos nods to Ruea.

Saragos says, "True. Though my first thought would be placing this thing back in the Null Prison."

Ruea says, "Three towns' worth, I suppose."

Saragos says, "I'm still working on what the Null Prison is. Meraud told us... their souls are here."

Ruea raises an eyebrow.

Ruea says, "That's offputting."

Saragos says, "That means that the prison itself isn't some extraplanar thing, at least not like a regular place we can go."

Ruea glances at a worn stone.

Sukidesu nods to a worn stone.

Saragos nods to Ruea.

Ruea asks, "Has anyone tried hitting it really hard? Maybe with an axe or hammer?"

Ezerak says, "Even if it were made again successfully, there is no guarantee that it will do what we need it to this time. I imagine it was built for its specific purpose."

Saragos says, "Hmm..."

Ezerak nods to Saragos.

Saragos says, "You know, Meraud showed us something interesting."

Briaen says, "A couple have suggested it, but Saragos has made pretty clear that attacking that stone would be the end of anyone who tried."

Sukidesu cocks his head.

Ezerak quietly says to Saragos, "You know, that would explain why I feel like I am closer to her when I am here."

Saragos says, "The streams were very well separated. That's much like what we saw in the Null Prison. Perhaps a Sorcery-but-not-Sorcery."

Saragos nods to Ezerak.

Asilyia gazes at Ezerak.

Ruea asks Saragos, "You would attack me if I tried to hit the stone with a hammer?"

Ruea raises an eyebrow in Saragos's direction.

Saragos says to Ruea, "I'd want to know why."

Ruea nods.

Ruea says, "Valid response, I accept that."

Xionara gazes at a worn stone.

Sukidesu says, "They are likely bound to the stone. What that means, and how to unbind them...well..."

Ruea says, "And my answer is, because magic isn't getting us anywhere. Sometimes the answer is brute force."

Sukidesu ponders.

Saragos asks, "Anyone write down the visions that they could pass to me?"

Ruea nods to Saragos.

Sofina goes down.

Ruea says to Saragos, "I'll have them sent to you."

Nawain glances at Briaen.

Soul Surgeon Zynell just arrived, leading her group.

Saragos says, "I have a feeling that destroying the stone physically won't solve our problem in any real way."

Xionara softly says, "Don't think should do so anyway. Seems like some kind of anchor."

Ruea says, "If destroying it wouldn't matter then the stone itself has no real significance."

Saragos nods to Xionara.

(Nawain chews on a lock of her hair.)

Soul Surgeon Zynell patters down, leading her group.

Nawain says to Ruea, "We don't know it wouldn't matter."

Ezerak nods at Nawain, obviously agreeing with her views.

Saragos says to Ruea, "Not true. My current thinking is that destroying it would only make our job harder. Right now, we know where they are. We have a focal point to work with."

Sukidesu gazes up at the sky.

Malorna nods to Saragos.

Ruea smiles.

Ezerak says, "It is a risk I would prefer to not take."

Saragos nods to Ezerak.

Xionara leans on Malorna.

Ezerak says, "Not until we know more, at least."

Saragos says to Ezerak, "We won't do that unless we are VERY, VERY sure it's the right answer."

Ruea asks, "The stone is a physical representation of sorcery. Does it matter? Does it not? Would it make things better or worse?"

Ezerak nods at Saragos, obviously agreeing with his views.

Sukidesu nods to Ruea.

Saragos says, "But I doubt it will be the right answer. I don't think they're *in* there in a way that has much meaning to our laws of reality."

Ruea says, "All unanswerable questions, but because the stone has physical form, no one will hit it with a hammer."

Briaen puts his papers in his damaged book.

Ruea shrugs.

Malorna leans on Xionara.

Saragos says, "Hmm."

Saragos casually observes the area.

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Avrenka says, "Valenal also seemed to imply the Heralds existed in 5th dimension, an alternate time space."

Avrenka says, "Feral magic does deal with time."

Saragos asks, "Ok. Many interpretations of the third vision were from the perspective of Wild Magic. What if the vision refers to saving them?"

Avrenka says, "Perhaps it is the only weapon that can reach them."

Malorna says, "Would that be the 5th."

Ezerak asks Saragos, "Which vision do you mean?"

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Saragos says, "The one with the four mana types."

Ezerak says, "There have been so many today."

Ezerak nods to Saragos.

Nawain gives a slight nod.

Saragos says, "So, let me talk about the Philosopher's Knot."

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Sukidesu nods to Saragos.

Briaen gazes up at the sky.

Saragos says, "I think it did several things - it needed both Feral Magic, and life force. I think it did a couple of things. First, it altered the planar laws of Maelshyve herself to make her into a *place* we could *go*. And it made her able to be damaged from within."

Saragos says, "Fundamentally altering laws of reality."

Malorna takes a bite of the grapes.

Nawain frowns.

Avrenka says, "Sounds familiar."

Malorna gathers up a watersilk picnic cloth with a scalloped border of sea otters holding hands and all the food it holds, stuffs the bundle into a latticed cocobolo picnic basket tied with merlot ruby sea otters, and closes the lid securely.

Saragos says, "The Null Prison is a place of no-laws. But I think we can feel fairly confident that if it was done with Herald-magic, it's not using Holy mana."

Malorna puts her basket in an effervescent eddy of honey-hued light captured by a sungold frame.

Saragos says, "Our five people were unmade, their consciousness and soul bound to a point here, so that they are able to observe. It's like..."

Nawain nods at Ezerak, obviously agreeing with his views.

Saragos says, "Ok, so, we're three parts. Body, Mind, Soul. Take one out, things don't work so great."

Avrenka asks, "We need to alter the laws of reality to make them into a place they can go?"

Ruea takes a sip of her wine.

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Briaen says, "If there are any who still have information on the Philospher's Knot, it may well be the Temple. Zauldin was close to Osven. I doubt with any real seriousness we'd be able to retreive those notes, if they are even there."

Nawain ponders.

Saragos says, "From the vision, we can believe that people in the Null Prison are conscious. So they have a Mind. From Meraud, we know they have a Soul. Both seem to be centered here."

Saragos nods to Briaen.

Saragos says to Briaen, "Probably right."

Nawain nods to Saragos.

Sukidesu says, "So they're missing their bodies."

Avrenka says, "That's a guess though ... their bodies could physically be in the Null Prison."

Avrenka says, "As was ours, when we were in it for a minute or two."

Ezerak nods at Avrenka, obviously agreeing with his views.

Sukidesu ponders.

Saragos says, "So maybe what happened is they were unmade in a way that annihilated their bodies, but the trick of the magic was that it bound their Mind and Soul to something else, without killing them.'."

Xionara nods to Avrenka.

Ezerak frowns.

Ezerak says to Saragos, "I do not think I've ever hoped for someone to be wrong before as I am right now."

Saragos asks Ezerak, "Why's that?"

Xionara nods to Ezerak.

A pained expression crosses Asilyia’s face.

Ezerak says to Saragos, "It just...sounds horrible."

Asilyia covers her eyes.

Saragos frowns.

Saragos says, "Yes. We will repay the suffering they've felt."

Xionara softly says, "Those not released. So far more likely trapped body, mind and soul."

Nawain shakes her head as if clearing it.

Ezerak rubs Asilyia’s back.

Nawain blinks.

Xionara softly says to Avrenka, "Since yourself escaped same kind of prison."

Nawain asks, "Suffering?"

Nawain asks, "They're suffering?"

Avrenka nods to Xionara.

A pained expression crosses Nawain's face.

Ruea hugs Asilyia, who wraps her arms around Ruea with a warm smile.

Saragos says, "It's honestly a fiendishly clever prison. We're fortunate. We kept track of where they were. We know exactly where they disappeared from."

Asilyia hugs Ruea. A faint scent of violets clings to her skin.

Sukidesu says, "I'm sure they are..."

Sukidesu nods to Nawain.

Saragos says, "And our efforts have made it more clear."

Ruea rubs Asilyia gently.

Sukidesu sighs.

Briaen puts his papers in his damaged book.

Asilyia begins to weep softly.

Casari frowns.

Saragos says, "But someone gets imprisoned there and nobody sees it? Even if you knew how to reverse it, you'd not even know where to start."

Avrenka says, "They are strong. I have no doubt they will not give in or give up."

Ezerak pulls Casari to him in a tight hug.

Avrenka pats Nawain on the back.

Ruea says to Asilyia, "We're going to get your mother back. It's going to be fine."

Casari pats Ezerak on the back.

Ezerak pulls Asilyia to him in a tight hug.

Asilyia sniffles.

Asilyia nods to Ruea.

Asilyia pulls Ezerak to her in a tight hug.

Avrenka says, "What if ..."

Avrenka coughs.

Sukidesu glances at Avrenka.

Avrenka says, "We hold another party ... but it's merely to attract the attention of our VIP."

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Avrenka says, "When the black ball or no-color appears, we hit 'em with the special sauce of four flavors."

Saragos says, "First, we get them back. Then I'll worry about whoever took them."

Saragos frowns.

Saragos casually observes the area.

Saragos says, "I'm starting to think that what Meraud showed us is different from normal Sorcery."

Avrenka says to Saragos, "It looked like ... something you would be familiar with."

Avrenka says, "In what you've done with your previous works."

Briaen says, "It is unsurprising to me that Meraud would see sorcery as an evolution of knowledge."

Saragos says, "We could try it. Use the principles of Aether weaving..."

Saragos nods to Avrenka.

Ruea says, "I'm sorry to go but I'm afraid I need to run along. Thank you all for coming and I hope I'll see you tomorrow at the event for Ayrell in Shard."

Ruea waves.

(Saragos walks around the stone in a circle, as if visualizing something.)

Casari waves to Ruea.

Avrenka says to Ruea, "Thanks for hosting."

Ezerak just hugged Ruea.

Saragos nods to Ruea.

Avrenka waves to Ruea.

Ruea smiles at Avrenka.

Xionara smiles at Ruea.

Ruea hugs Ezerak, who wraps his arms around Ruea with a warm smile.

Xionara waves to Ruea.

Saragos says to Ruea, "Thank you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to come until the end."

Ruea waves to Xionara.

Ezerak asks Asilyia, "Is the basket yours or hers?"

Asilyia quietly says to Ezerak, "Mine."

Ruea says to Saragos, "I'll forgive you this time. We need to talk about an event for Navesi."

Ruea waves.

Ezerak nods to Asilyia.

Saragos nods to Ruea.

Avrenka ponders.

Thinker Couri goes down.

Ruea slips away, disappearing with a soft laugh and a hint of violets.

Ezerak says to Asilyia, "Did not want her to forget it again if it were hers."

Asilyia smiles sadly.

Asilyia nods to Ezerak.

Ezerak rubs Asilyia’s back.

Avrenka asks, "The main problem is ... like Saragos said ... what's our target of the special sauce? Cuz Meraud's vision made it look like ... we're supposed to use it on ourselves?"

Malorna says, "We both had baskets out. i put mine away."

Malorna smiles.

Avrenka rubs his head.

Saragos says, "I'm considering if we need to make *them* drink it. Metaphorically."

Saragos points at a worn stone.

Avrenka says, "Ah."

Avrenka says, "Ah hah....."

Casari asks, "Who's 'them' in this case?"

Saragos says, "The five people in the Null Prison."

Avrenka says, "We better make damn sure it's not the voidspell we're casting then."

Saragos says, "It's not."

Light rain begins to fall from the sky.

Xionara hugs Malorna, who wraps her arms around Xionara with a warm smile.

Xionara waves.

Asilyia gazes up at the sky.

Xionara stands up.

A stone seat collapses back into the ground.

Saragos says, "Voidspell is Hylomorphic - no Life mana."

Black Fox Xionara slinks down, leading her group.

Saragos grins at Avrenka.

Malorna chuckles.

Avrenka says to Saragos, "I was under the impression it was Feral."

Avrenka shrugs.

Avrenka says, "All the better then ... though one of the visions tonight seemed to show the risk of mixing four sauces ... resulting in a huge explosion."

Saragos says, "Possible point to argue, but I doubt it. Also, Meraud would not just randomly teach us the Voidspell."

Avrenka nods in agreement.

Saragos says, "Unless he's become a trickster god without us noticing."

Nawain looks at Briaen and shrugs.

Saragos says to Briaen, "We'd need you for this."

Casari says, "I'm going to assume it wasn't Meraud teaching us the Voidspell and that it wasn't someone impersonating Meraud and teaching us the Voidspell."

Briaen asks Saragos, "In what capacity?"

Saragos says, "I think you're going to have a better shot at seeing what we'd be doing than the rest of us. The weave Meraud made was pretty intricate. The problem with Sorcery is always that you're doing it blind."

Saragos says, "Maybe we could use some sort of scaffolding, like the Aether Loom, to make it more precise."

Malorna takes a bite of the grapes.

Saragos says, "I've got to think."

Briaen says, "Blind when you're the one weaving all the mana types, yes. But if you separate that out into people who can see the individual types..."

Saragos nods to Briaen.

Avrenka says, "Or someone who can perceive multiple mana types."

Avrenka clears his throat.

Briaen gazes at his fingernails.

Saragos says to Briaen, "That's how we'd have to do it. But we'd still need someone to help correct things. I had two different people working on corrections in the Loom. Perune was pushing the threads taut, and Mendira was nipping and tucking when things came out of alignment. They could both see what they were working with."

Casari says, "Still might be better off using a physical structure to shape the streams."

Nawain says, "I could see your aether with substatum, so I knew where to aim."

Nawain frowns.

Nawain asks Briaen, "You see them all?"

Saragos nods to Casari.

Casari says, "To shape the pattern, I mean."

Avrenka asks, "Would it ... be possible to weave Aether with each mana type? As a base for people to guide them?"

Avrenka says, "No ... that might be too complicated and dangerous."

Sukidesu ponders.

Briaen says, "See is perhaps not entirely correct. I can see them all, but not focus on an individual type. I can use them all, however."

Casari says, "I'm not saying I think this is the right track, I'm just saying it would make you less likely to have a violent explosion of accidentally crossed mana."

Nawain nods to Briaen.

Briaen says, "They're effectively black...ooze when I can see them all jumbled."

Avrenka asks Casari, "Did you have a specific structure in mind?"

Nawain winces.

Casari shrugs.

Casari says, "I'm not a spell maker."

Saragos nods to Casari.

Saragos says, "I'm not convinced that this is the right path either. But that's how I like to solve things. Talk it through, work out the implications."

Saragos says, "Often, in doing that, you'll either confirm it's the right path, or you'll find reasons it can't work."

Avrenka asks, "Perhaps we could do a simple weave? Like ... a 4 strand braid of hair?"

Nawain snorts, loudly.

Avrenka says, "Simply taking turns with each strand."

Nawain puts her sandwich in her slender rugursora.

Nawain gazes up at the sky.

Nawain puts her sandwich in her slender rugursora.

Nawain weaves the applewood wand through an intricate series of gestures. A roast beast sandwich appears in her right hand!

Avrenka says, "That way we dont need to see, we can just go by feel."

Nawain offers Saragos a roast beast sandwich.

Saragos accepts Nawain's beast sandwich.

Saragos says to Nawain, "Thanks."

Saragos takes a bite of the sandwich.

Nawain nods to Saragos.

Saragos says, "So, I think in the vision, it wasn't just spun into thread. It was an intricate weave. More like a braid."

Nawain nods to Saragos.

Casari says, "I need to go. Have a good day, everyone."

Casari hugs Asilyia, who wraps her arms around Casari with a warm smile.

Avrenka waves to Casari.

Casari waves.

Nawain blinks at Saragos.

Nawain gnaws on her lip.

Ezerak waves to Casari.

Casari puts her shell in her black longcoat.

Malorna waves.

Firehawk Casari goes down.

Saragos says to Nawain, "I want to say this to you out loud, because I can't get across what I want to say just whispering."

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Saragos says to Nawain, "We failed. Ok. First, it wasn't your fault. Your godling didn't do what we hoped, but the Anomaly we saw was the likely outcome if my assumptions were wrong. And I think now we know for certain that they were."

Saragos says, "So there was never any chance of success there."

Nawain gives a slight nod.

Saragos says, "Second... if I'm in a fight, am I more scared of the undefeated young challenger, or the veteran at the top of their game who's lost a few. I'm way more scared of the veteran - someone who just keeps coiming and never. gives. up."

(Nawain gnaws on her hair, gazing at Saragos.)

Saragos says, "That's what we are. We're never giving up. Getting depressed and stopping is a luxury we don't have. That's the only fail state."

Saragos says, "We keep going until they're back, or we're gone for good. That's all there is to it."

Avrenka nods at Saragos, obviously agreeing with his views.

(Nawain considers the warrior mage for a long moment, then nods.)

Sukidesu nods to Saragos.

Saragos says, "We're going to keep failing, and failing, and failing, and failing until finally we've failed all the ways we need to fail to figure it out."

Saragos asks Nawain, "Now. If you're up for it, I could use your help with working the rest out. Yes?"

Malorna says, "If at first you fail.. try again."

Nawain gnaws on her lip.

Nawain nods to Saragos.

Sukidesu nods at Malorna, obviously agreeing with her views.

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Saragos just hugged Nawain.

Nawain says to Saragos, "I'll help. Of course I'll help. I've.. oh."

Nawain just hugged Saragos.

Sukidesu just hugged Nawain.

Avrenka pats Nawain on the back.

Nawain says to Saragos, "I've been trying to work on the.. umm. The godling problem."

Nawain hugs Sukidesu, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile.

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Nawain smiles at Avrenka.

Ezerak gazes at Nawain.

Nawain says to Saragos, "It's sort of on a timer, and I'm not all that sure how to... uhh. Yoke it, again."

Nawain glances at Briaen.

Saragos says to Nawain, "We can't let it run loose."

Briaen nods to Nawain.

Nawain winces.

Avrenka asks, "Forgive my ignorance, I know nothing about godlings ... can someone educate me real quick on what a godling exactly is?"

Briaen says to Saragos, "It's fed on too much to be controlled."

Nawain says to Saragos, "I know, but..."

Avrenka says, "It's hard for me to find any literature on the subject."

Nawain rubs her head.

Nawain says to Avrenka, "Godlings are what some clerics use to experiment with holy law."

Avrenka asks, "It is a manifestation of a cleric's own soul?"

Briaen says, "What is written on the subject is well hidden."

Nawain says to Avrenka, "For those of us who worship outside the standard pantheon, we must use a godling as a... Bother. You know, I don't know what it is. I thought it was an emissary, serving as an intermediary between one's self and one's God."

Nawain ponders.

Avrenka says, "Interesting."

Sukidesu says, "I must take my leave, but I look forward to helping in future experiments."

Nawain says to Avrenka, "I'm much less sure, now, that it serves any purpose at all. It takes what we offer, and it grows massive. It pierces planes."

Sukidesu waves.

Sukidesu just hugged Nawain.

Nawain hugs Sukidesu, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile.

Sukidesu says, "I'll be around."

Sukidesu grins at Nawain, his dimples flashing into view.

Avrenka waves to Sukidesu.

Sukidesu waves to Avrenka.

Sukidesu clasps Object's hand tenderly.

Nawain says to Avrenka, "And when the cleric realizes that they have been deluded and stops feeding it, it begins to die."

Saragos asks Nawain, "Normally, they need you to feed them, right?"

Nawain says to Avrenka, "It takes 160 days."

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Doctor of Kittens Sukidesu shuffles down, leading his group.

Nawain says, "And then it returns to the cleric and destroys them for their abandment."

Avrenka says, "That's ... quite awhile."

Nawain says, "But it dies. It's gone."

Avrenka says, "Oh."

Avrenka asks, "So ... you've got a bit of a death sentence on you?"

Saragos asks Nawain, "Is that what you're waiting for?"

Nawain glances at Saragos.

Nawain gives Saragos a slight nod.

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Ezerak nods.

Avrenka says, "Bummer."

Saragos says to Nawain, "I'll stand with you. We'll take it down if it's too big to fall any other way. We'll clean up our messes together."

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Nawain winces.

Nawain says, "I really didn't want to distract from all of this."

Avrenka asks, "So I'm guessing godlings don't usually run away, huh?"

Nawain shakes her head at Avrenka.

Ezerak asks Nawain, "Your plan is to let it die, then?"

Nawain says to Avrenka, "Never been recorded."

Avrenka says, "Guess you fed that bad boy quite well then."

Nawain says to Ezerak, "'Either it will come and kill me, and die, and it's over, or it.. won't die. And we have more problems."

Nawain winces.

Nawain nods at Avrenka, obviously agreeing with his views.

Saragos says to Nawain, "Hopefully we'll have them back by then, but I'm willing to take time out of my day."

Nawain says, "If it's grown beyond the laws that govern godlings, then I have no idea what we do."

Nawain chuckles.

Ezerak frowns.

Avrenka asks, "It feeds on ... Holy mana?"

Nawain wryly asks Saragos, "Willing to take a few hours to punch a godling?"

Saragos says, "The interesting thing is... if we really need to use Meraud's weave, I've already done a lot of the calculations for it."

Saragos nods to Nawain.

Nawain says to Avrenka, "Primarily. I think it feeds on my devotion and soul, as well."

Avrenka says, "Sheesh."

Nawain blinks at Saragos.

Saragos says, "You know, I told Navesi something once. I think it's relevant."

Nawain says to Saragos, "Of course you have."

Avrenka says to Nawain, "Well if it's any comfort, Liraxes said your godling actually increased Balance."

Nawain exclaims to Avrenka, "Oh. Err. Yay!"

Malorna chuckles.

Avrenka grins crookedly.

Nawain says to Avrenka, "Some clerics have already told me they went to Throne City and forgot the All God spell, because of our conversations."

Ezerak says, "I should be off."

Nawain says, "So good things have come of it."

Avrenka waves to Ezerak.

Nawain nods to Ezerak.

Saragos says, "I'm old. Been in a lot of fights. But there's something important that you need to do, when you're in a life or death fight. You save just a tiny little bit of energy. Just a little bit. You don't put everything out there, you reserve this tiny, tiny part. That part is the gift you give yourself."

Asilyia quietly asks Ezerak, "May I come with you?"

Ezerak asks Asilyia, "Are you heading home? Will you be alright?"

Ezerak nods to Asilyia.

Ezerak says to Asilyia, "Of course."

Ezerak clasps Asilyia’s hand tenderly.

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Asilyia curtsies.

Saragos says, "And that gift you give yourself is that you know that you've always got enough left to spit in the face of the thing that's killing you."

Ezerak doffs his top hat.

Avrenka chuckles.

Nawain smiles.

Mountain Lord Ezerak swaggers down, leading his group.

New Moon Mage Visions Discussed - Quick Reference

Vision One

A tall potted plant sits in the middle of a wide field, a thick mat of vines spilling over its ceramic edge. The vines writhe and stretch, expanding across the field, and after a while have created a thick blanket of choking foliage. A field mouse squeaks in agony and is cut short with a faint squelch. A bird swoops low and is snatched from the sky by a quick as lightning whipping tendril, leaving behind nothing more than a tail feather drifting in the wind. The sun continues along a cloudless sky, and the vision fades.

Vision Two

You see a chemist working over a bench, twisting tubes of clear glass and nudging several glowing liquids in hot sand baths, ensuring an even boil. The vision fades.

Vision Three

You find yourself sitting atop a tall tower in the midst of a sprawling mountain range, the cold, thin air whipping around you. The woman simply remarks, "Well, that's one way to do it," and the vision fades.

Vision Four

Everything goes blood red, and unbridled rage billows up your throat in a furious scream. Your fists are a mess of torn flesh and broken fingers, and you begin to shake uncontrollably. The crowd looks at you in abject horror, and the vision fades.

Vision Five

A man feeds a short stove with a log, and using a pair of tongs, pushes at something inside a minute, and then steps back and closes the door. The vision fades.
