A practice mat, complete with a display that holds an impressive-sized shield, provides space for training defensive maneuvers and healing while in the thick of combat. Set behind a painted paper screen depicting battle, a circle of soft chairs surrounds a table topped with a decanter and a vase of pink dahlias. Saragos says to Kethrai, "So if they're having problems with the ocean currents, they'll be inclined to care."

Saragos says, "I think Asildu did make a good point."

Saragos says, "This is affecting everyone. We're more used to it than anyone else. That means everyone else is going to be scared. That means we can maybe bully answers out of people that normally wouldn't give us the time of day."

Severei says, "I'm heading out. Yelling at the heralds exhausted me."

Avrenka says to Saragos, "Well it's not like we travel the Plane of Probability, just the Astral Plane."

Saragos says, "Right, but Probability might tell us something."

Allye asks, "It may be a risky proposition, but as someone who claimed to be able to sense the Herald's residual energies and so forth... might there be any value to taking Asildu there to see what he senses?"

Saragos says to Allye, "I'm worried that if he finds out that they're behind the kidnapping that he'd do things to ruin our chances of getting them back."

Aerilia says, "Maybe. He seems to genuinely believe they wouldn't have a reason to. It might shock his faith a bit if he did discover that."

Saragos says, "I've thought of gaining leverage over them, but the best I could come up with was threatening to do the biggest, nastiest, craziest Sorcery we could think of. Let's say I was uncertain of how effective that would be."

Avrenka frowns, shaking his head with an expression of exasperation before resting his face in the palm of his hand.

Saragos grins at Allye.

Avrenka says, "There are certain spells that extraplanar beings may fear."

Allye grins at Saragos.

Anuril takes a sip of his wine.

Saragos says, "We can't just do the Knot again."

Allye says, "In truth, it doesn't seem that they have enough insight to be that valuable as leverage. The Heralds don't seem to give them much, and what they do give they could easily give to someone else if we did something to them."

Avrenka nods to Allye.

Avrenka says to Allye, "That's what I was afraid of."

Shaylynne nods to Allye.

Avrenka says, "They may not actually be leverage."

Avrenka says, "Miraena had no problems just closing her eyes and accepting her fate when attacked by Atuen."

Shaylynne says, "I think it's most likely the Heralds don't care about appeasing us as much as they'd just lay a heavier hand on controlling us."

Aerilia says, "For as special as Asildu feels for his connection, the heralds may not care about him at all."

Saragos says to Allye, "I was thinking of that as a last resort. Last, even after, 'try to recreate the crazy sorcery that kidnapped them in the first place, and somehow invert it' plan."

Avrenka says, "And the Heralds didn't even respond to her being attacked."

Allye nods at Aerilia, obviously agreeing with her views.

Allye nods to Saragos.

Shaylynne says, "But there may come a point where anything is worth a shot."

Avrenka says, "Although she was ... protected quite well."

Avrenka nods.

Saragos says to Shaylynne, "Yes. I'm just not quite there."

Allye says, "True."

Avrenka says to Shaylynne, "Probably a last resort."

Anuril blinks.

Saragos says, "The fact that we got the messages from the precise spot that I had identified is a very good sign that my plan can work."

Avrenka nods.

Saragos says, "It's just going to take time to... arrange everything."
