Trader Tindle's shop in Crossing -- Tindle's Weapons, Ores, and More -- reflects his obsession with hacking on rocks in a never-ending search for rare metals. It's not that he thinks they're pretty. They're just worth a lot of money, especially when somebody makes top-notch weapons out of them, and he's keen on money.

Upon returning to the Realms with his family after a ten-year voyage so far beyond the Barrier that he returned from the other direction, he has dedicated himself to acquiring the finer things and traveling throughout Elanthia. While not anti-social, he's not particularly social, driven by the pursuits of business and the matter-of-fact completion of a fair deal.

Frequent shoppers at Tindle's will note that his prices are quite competitive and swing lower to higher and back again as a function of his available stock and the generosity of the mines.

The mines are fickle. There are people who will say, "But I found glaes once! How can it be so expensive?" To which Tindle says, "You found glaes once...by accident. Go find it ten times on purpose, and then we'll talk about the value of the ore."

Also of note, Tindle has partnered with renowned weaponmaster Squanto, and Tindle's Weapons, Ores, and More is an authorized dealer of Squanto-made weaponry. A full discussion of Squanto's weaponmaking can be found here, at Squanto's rare metal weapons page [[1]].

Tindle wants to sell products, but he believes that the best way to sell products is to sell the right ones to the right people. "Let me be very clear," he says, "There is no 'best' weapon. There is only the best weapon for you in a given situation. Sometimes that means that I can sell you the best weapon. Sometimes that means that you've either already got the best weapon or another merchant has one better for you today than I do. I'm good with that, and I'm always willing to refer you to another merchant who might have what's better for you today. Maybe you'll come back to my shop tomorrow, and I'd rather have treated you right previously."

Trader Tindle has a triangular face, pointed ears, almond-shaped green eyes bedecked with platinum-rimmed spectacles, and a straight nose. His russet hair is long and curly, and he has copper skin and a slender build. He's shorter than most elves and handsome in a rather professorial manner.

"The family, we take our mining seriously," says Tindle.
