Tindle's shop in Crossing -- Tindle's Weapons, Ores, and More -- is reflective of his obsession with hacking on rocks in a never-ending search for rare metals. It's not that he thinks they're pretty. They're just worth a lot of money, and he's keen on money.

Upon returning to the Realms with his family after a ten-year voyage so far beyond the Barrier that he returned from the other direction, he has dedicated himself to acquiring the finer things and traveling throughout Elanthia. While not anti-social, he's not particularly social, driven by the pursuits of business and the matter-of-fact completion of a fair deal.

"The family, we take our mining seriously," says Tindle.
