I've heard of noobs trying goblin zombies out the west gate because they are closer, thinking they were the same as the ones in Riverhaven and getting beaten up royally. They would then skip them completely, never realizing the correct noob creature was the one in Riverhaven.--[[User:COLDLIGHT|COLDLIGHT]] ([[User talk:COLDLIGHT|talk]]) 17:15, 26 September 2016 (CDT)

As an additional note, I changed the minimum ranks required for Zombie goblins from 5 to 0, as I've started several brand new characters off hunting them, and they did fine. I still question 35 as the upper limit, but it's been a while so I'll need to check when next I have a noob there. If I follow through with rolling up a cleric, that would be perfect. My feeling is that 0-28ish is more accurate as these creatures are really just a lout/rat combo.

goblin zombies(hunting preserve) out the west gate of the crossings are akin to the skill levels of the madmen(manor), while the goblin zombies out the north gate of haven are akin to louts(crossings east gate). forum post by DR-Dartenian--Legeres 13:57, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Mixed Up Creatures

These two creatures have a confused history. Several GMs have posted on them, but their current status contradicts earlier GM remarks about them, even in the release posts. The only explanation I can think of is that a GM mistyped the name, and the error was never caught.

Regardless of their origin, currently these are two different creatures with two different names that are being mistakenly mixed up. Notice their names are reversed, so the nouns are different. One is a zombie goblin and the other is a goblin zombie. With two different names and different attributes, each should have its own page.

Zombie goblins are north of Riverhaven 0 - 28 RanikMap31f and can be skinned. These are entry level and can be used on a player's first hunt. They are really just a rat/lout combo for a nice skinnable box creature.

>The zombie goblin begins to advance on you!

>You complete arranging the goblin's corpse in a manner that, while making the process of obtaining a part more difficult, guarantees a greater reward. Roundtime: 2 sec.

>Moving with impressive skill and grace, you effortlessly retrieve a perfect hand from the zombie goblin.

Goblin zombies are west of Crossing 15 - 45 RanikMap4 and cannot be skinned. These are more like madmen and too strong to be used on a player's first hunt.

>The goblin zombie begins to advance on you!

>The zombie cannot be skinned, so you can't arrange it either.
>The zombie cannot be skinned.

Zombie goblins are perfect for noobs, so the redirection should be corrected.
