I'm not sure if that was mentioned in any of the stuff they posted, i don't recall reading it but i was tired and may have missed it. It does not evidently last long as just minutes after editing this i was able to predict. Still not sure if it's caused by the casting or the research. -- [[User:DAMIAN|DAMIAN]] ([[User talk:DAMIAN|talk]]) 20:51, 22 June 2017 (CDT)

I wasn't sure if this should be categorized as a scroll spell or a quest spell.--ILLIENA (talk) 04:04, 22 June 2017 (CDT)

For what it's worth, it's categorized as a scroll spell on our end, since quest spells can't be scrolls. However, the primary way of learning these spells is certainly intended to be RESEARCH now. As for what SCO does, you'll want to normally use your straight TM spells to trigger it. --DR-GREJUVA (talk) 05:15, 22 June 2017 (CDT)
I didn't see any special messaging with either SLS or DO. Maybe it only triggers sometimes?--ILLIENA (talk) 05:19, 22 June 2017 (CDT)

Pay attention to a special message you may get when you target the single hitting spell, see below:

That won't affect your current attunement very much.

You raise your palms skyward, chanting the equation of the Partial Displacement spell.

You turn to face a black-backed jackal.

You begin to weave mana lines into a target pattern around a black-backed jackal.

For an instant, the entity of rage wrests your targeting pattern from you!

This has the effect of almost immediately fully targetting the spell you're prep/targeting and you can cast it about 1 or 2 seconds after you prep/target the spell. So the bonus is that it dramatically decreases the time needed to target a single target spell, occasionally. If used in conjunction with SLS, when the message generates for your single target spell, SLS will also do additional hit/hits to go along with the fast target acquisition. Thanks to Grejuva for pointers with this as it is not as easily evident in the scroll. Also, there's some funny stuff happening with the duration, one cast at 100 mana was 19 mins the other for exact same amount was 16. Not sure what governs this. This spell or the research, not sure which, does screw with your ability to predict. At the moment all i get when trying to predict is:

As you reach out toward the future, you find nothing but deathly stillness.

I'm not sure if that was mentioned in any of the stuff they posted, i don't recall reading it but i was tired and may have missed it. So it turns out the reason I was missing the message is because it had never happened for me. Looks like the proc rate is about 10%.
And yeah, definitely something wonky with duration. One thing I noticed is that it can refresh itself instead of ending:
