Devish grew up poor in an orphanage for unwanted elves in a faraway land. His misspent youth taught him the finer points of crime and debauchery until he was finally forced to stow away on a merchant ship to avoid prosecution by local authorities. He spent the next couple of decades sailing the wide oceans and seas looking for adventure and wealth until a raging storm tossed his ship onto the shores of Elanthia. The only survivor of the shipwreck, Devish found himself in the middle of the Gorbesh War where he joined the warrior mage guild, and fought bravely in defense of his newly adopted home. Eager for combat, he wanders Elanthia in pursuit of vast riches and forbidden magic knowledge.
